Colt did the installation and he was excellent. He showed up on time, worked hard the entire time he was here and cleaned up after himself perfectly. I would recommend anyone shopping for carpet installation to use Pannell Floors. One thing I learned about installation of carpet is that it significantly improves the ability of the installer to stretch the carpet if it sits in your house overnight to acclimate to the temperature and humidity of your home. Not only does this improve the installation, it extends the warranty. You pay extra for this service as it takes his guys two visits to install the carpet vs just showing up and doing it. Colt removed and disposed of the old carpet and padding, then cut the new rubber padding to size, ran a double tack strip so I could run my surround speaker wires under the carpet then cut the carpet to rough size. We then cranked up the heat to around 74 degrees for the night to warm up the carpet so it can stretch better. It looks and feels outstanding. I'll use Dave and Colt when we need the rest of the house done. They are responsive, professional and price competitively. There was very little waste or leftover (which we regret), but it's a testament to how accurate Dave orders to minimize cost of material. I would recommend this rubber padding under any rug or runner vs. what is available to purchase online or through Amazon...even the expensive 1/2" rug pads. The rebound is so much better and easier on your feet, it feels luxurious!

BUYER BEWARE! This company has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. I purchased…read morecarpet for 2 bedrooms and rubber flooring for my exercise room in early July. Was given two different install dates for each floor type. First install was for the rubber floor which happened without issue. Stan was my installer and he was GREAT. If that was the only installation, my review would be five stars. Installation of the carpet was to happen on 7/28 between 8am - 9am. Received a call at 9am that the installers truck broke down and he'd be here at noon. Noon comes and go without anyone showing up OR an update. Called them around 1pm and they say they found an installer and he's on his way. A crew of two guys show up, do a walk of the rooms & inform us we need to remove everything out of the closet due to the built-in inside the closet. We were told by the estimator/owner when we got a quote we could leave everything on the top rod of the closet, hence why we didn't remove everything. My husband starts pulling everything out of the closet & asking the installer questions about the installation inside the closet. He was frustrated that the plan changed but he's moving clothes out. The installers walk out without a word and never return. We didn't know what was going on so we call the store & they didn't seem to know either. Find out later the installer was "offended" by my husband. For what? No one knows. At this point I am offended by the installers unprofessionalism and disrespect. My husband did not yell, curse, or do anything that should to walk off the job. Gilford's response is they were taking him to a "nice dinner" to talk to him and would work on getting an installer for the following day and they'd call us with an update. They didn't and we ended up having to call them, again. Fast forward to Tuesday. We called around 11am because no update. They tell us an installer will be out "between 12 and 1" after another job. That time comes and goes without an installer or update. Text them for an update: he's finishing up and he's coming today. At 4:00pm when no update or installer shows, I call the office to be met with more rudeness and unprofessionalism. Rob starts yelling, talking over me, told me he doesn't care AND hung up on me. Apparently he didn't like that I'm frustrated with their missed commitments, lack of communication and unprofessionalism. Told me I'm "flipping out". I don't know who wouldn't be frustrated with the situation. Rob doesn't know how to deal with customers or de-escalate situations and made it worse than it already was. Installers show up at 5pm and don't leave until after 10pm. Still have to put everything back and set up beds in order to sleep so we don't go to bed until nearly midnight and I have to work the next day. Why wasn't our installation prioritized for that day since it was missed on the promised day? Why were we put off until the LAST appointment instead of the first? Again, no customer service. I've waited 6 weeks since our installation before writing this review to see if they'd reach out and apologize for their screw up and Rob's disgusting response towards me. Nothing. Not an email or a phone call. When the 2nd set of installers heard the story, they apologized, which I appreciated, but felt it was the owners that should have been making the apology. It was the first time these installers worked for Gilford. Why do they recognize the behavior was unprofessional but not the owners? I have more floors to do but I'll be looking for a company that doesn't berate customers when they want an update on missed appointments. Rob made it clear when he said he "doesn't care". It shows and I'll be giving my money to a company that does care.

Definition of perfection! Not only is their work great, but Anton was so so helpful. Communicative, punctual, and was happy to answer all my crazy questions/concerns. I've already hired him to do some more work following the main renovation and I'll be hiring him for more future work. Now for some details: We bought an apartment in Portland but we were still living in NYC, so the entire renovation was done remotely. Anton was very easy to communicate with. He handled receiving all the materials and fixtures, and even let me send some items to his home (like a bathtub!) so it doesn't disturb my new neighbors. He also brought in my regular mail. I actually got compliments from my neighbors for how Anton's workers helped them with some random stuff. Anton promised and delivered on finishing the renovation before we moved in. While it was a pretty tight schedule, I kept making it harder on Anton by increasing the scope as the renovation progressed (because I was so happy with the work). Even though I kept adding more work, Anton was still able to finish everything by the time we moved in. He and his team are very dedicated hard workers. There are no surprises when you get the bill either, prices are given upfront and that's what you see at the end. As for the work itself - very high quality throughout the vast range of different tasks (flooring, replacing exterior windows, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, replacing kitchen counter etc.). Anton was able to squeeze every inch of space, upgrading our kitchen substantially - shifting some existing cabinets to make more room for a bigger fridge, increasing the size of the sink to the absolute maximum given the existing cabinets (which we didn't want to replace) and even installing an imported faucet that doesn't match the US voltage (for boiling water) or plumbing fittings. I'm so happy with the work he did for us and I hope you hire him too.
