We had our 30 year old hardwood floors refinished and added new wood floors to a separate room. Communication was great. Expectations were met. The crew, Alex and Oscar, showed up on time each day, and worked hard to finish the project on the day expected. We called Treadline thinking that we needed refinishing of our wood floors as the kitchen in particular seemed very difficult to clean. Ovie, the owner, came in a timely manner and spent time showing us how to use the mop correctly to clean rather than spread the dirt around. He also said the floors did not need refinishing but that we could start with a deep cleaning. He did say that we could do that ourselves but they provided that service with machinery. We were impressed with his honesty and helpfulness. Having back issues ourselves we opted for their deep cleaning service. He said it would take the better part of a day to complete so we scheduled it for a day that we were out of town to allow time for drying. We gave our neighbor across the street our house key and asked Treadline to call her upon arrival and to return the key upon completion. Close to the scheduled date we asked Ovie how long the job would take so we could relay that info to our neighbor and his reply was 6-7 hours. On the scheduled day the Treadline employee got the key at 8:45 am and returned it at 10:10 am. That time interval included unloading and reloading the equipment from the truck. The price for a little more than an hour of work was $805. When we arrived home after the job and first walked in to the kitchen, we were not sure that they had been there. Before writing this review, we discussed our concerns with the owner. We were disappointed by his response and his final comment was "pay the bill". We used these guys yesterday for a deep clean from an Angie's List special and I must say, they did a terrific job! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Also received a quote for a refinish that we will do within the year. They thoroughly explained the process and were open to any time frame we had. Both my husband and I were here, and they were good talking to either one of us about the work they had completed as well as the refinishing job we would have them do in the future. They were not pushy or rude, but very helpful and polite. Needless to say, we were impressed and will be using them in the future. As a sidenote, I believe it's important to point out that I am a real person and this is a real account. We are not affiliated in any way, shape, or form with this company. Our red oak hardwood floors in the downstairs of our home were in severe need of refinishing. In addition, we decided to remove the family room carpeting and extend the hardwood flooring. There were some areas in the kitchen where water damage from a pet bowl required repairs and a new cabinet footprint from our kitchen remodel required new flooring to be installed. With new cabinets we were also ready for a color change for the floor stain. All of these items were easily addressed by Treadline Hardwood Fall 2016. Our kitchen cabinet project wrapped up mid November. We seamlessly started the flooring project with Treadline and had the work finished in plenty of time to move the furniture back in & put down new area rugs for Christmas houseguests. All this in spite of a snow storm at the beginning of December. The Treadline crew showed up on time every time. They were very respectful and they worked well together. I believe that the business runs on a disciplined approach which works to the benefit of the consumer. We were very pleased with the results and the process. Ovi and Kelly were easy to work with and we were happy to support a locally owned business. A year later and we still love the floors. I use the recommended Rena cleaner and the floors look great. Absolutely love my newly refinished floors. Dog pee stains gone (other companies said wood would need replacing), water warp from overflow plant gone. So happy we went with Treadline. Very professional. Beautiful job. My floors look like art work. I don't even want to put my furniture back on them because the floors are so beautiful. We just moved into a home where the previous owners scraped up the floor. We called Treadline because they were a local business in our community. I talked to Kelly and she asked for me to send photos. Based on the photos she said that the floor needed to be completely refinished that it could not be buffed out. Here was her over the phone photo only estimate below. Now HOW can someone do an estimate only from a photo? "For roughly about 600 sq ft, you'd be looking at approximately $2950.00. This includes our 10 year warranty finish, dustless sanding system and furniture/appliance movement." Then she told me I needed to PAY to have someone come for an estimate: "If you'd like to have someone come out to the home, take measurements, go over the project in depth with you and put together a formal written estimate, we do charge a $25 estimate fee for that appointment." I was like, okay? and then was sent a CC approval form in order to set up an appointment. When I asked if I could pay cash or check at the appointment I was told no that I could drop it off or send it in the mail and that I couldn't have an appointment without payment: "However, we do require payment for that appointment in order to set up the date and time." "The payment ensures a few things - one that someone will be there when we arrive, and also covers the time for both the appointment and putting together a detailed bid for your project, which when all is said and done is several hours for a few people involved." Kelly also suggested if we had others come and estimate: "Should you receive different information and/or more detailed information from other companies, we can certainly fine tune our 'ballpark' pricing for you at your request, as well as define our services in more detail." BALLPARK??? What? I couldn't believe she would suggest we give out other estimate information for her benefit so they would not have to come and look/measure our job personally. I read this to my Husband, a commercial building contractor for over 42 years, and he said he NEVER heard of such a thing, charging for appointments/estimates. He said no thanks. I declined with Kelly telling her that we were not interested at this time. Her response sealed the deal that we would NEVER do business with this company, and YES we are having the floor done. "We appreciate the feedback, and have heard just the opposite from a good number of customers who have gladly paid the fee, including contractors. While we understand you and your husband's opinion on the matter, we have our own business model and we opt to charge for estimates, rather than provide estimates to customers who are just shopping for pricing and not serious about using our services. Again, as was stated in the previous email, if you are just looking for pricing, that was given to you in the earlier correspondence and was discussed with you over the phone, and if you are serious about moving forward, this is our next step. We wish you the best of luck in your flooring project. Thank you, Kelly" Well Kelly, you will never know if we were a potential customer serious about using your service because, well, you didn't want to take the time to show us YOU wanted our business. read more

Our project consisted of resurfacing existing maple hardwood floor in our downstairs entry, and kitchen. We also had them take up carpet in the front entry stairs, downstairs family room and office. They installed new maple hardwood in those areas. Lastly, all the hardwood was stained a darker color and new bay shoe was installed. They completed the project on time and as promised. Charged me $25 for a quote. Then their quote was $3750 to refinish 300 square feet, do some small repairs, and to install baseboard. Other companies quoted a total charge of half that. Their response is they charge a minimum of $2750 and it's $1000 for the minor repairs. Ovi gave me the vibe of used car salesman. And this $25 estimate fee is just like a car dealership... charging "documentation fees" for each sale. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a former car salesman. In response to Ovi's reply... I'd been quoted $200 for the same repairs by 2 other companies. Hmmm... $200, $200, $1000. Which one seems money grubbing? Also I have no recollection of him saying they charge $2750 minimum. When he showed up, he said multiple times about different finishes costing the same, which was confusing to me, but he never said "because we have a minimum of $2750". It wasn't until I got the estimate that I was given that information. Why would I given them 1 star if they had made me aware ahead of time of their astronomical minimum charge? Why would I have had him come out if I knew my job didn't reach that minimum. They're just banking on a he said-she said debate. Shysters. I know that multiple people who have worked for Ovi have left because they can't stand the guy. Makes sense. read more

Very happy with our new hardwood floors installed by Treadline. We had the flooring done in the entire house so it was a big project. The owners, Ovi and Kelly, were so helpful and professional. Kelly worked with us to explain the different flooring options and suggested samples to take home. She was patient with us as this took several sample changes before we found the perfect look. Ovi explained the process of removing the carpeting and existing hardwood and installing the new flooring including new baseboards. He also discussed possible issues based on our floors and layout. The estimate was broken out by room and included details of demo, flooring and installation which allowed us to understand the cost. The crew was professional, friendly and efficient. They worked with us to be as least disruptive as possible considering the scope of the job. The floors look fabulous! Would definitely recommend them. read more

my wife wanted to have our floors refinished, she decided on a local company to do the job, Treadline, we were told that we could not be in the house for 1 night do to the fumes from the finish, so... we planned a vacation week so we would not be home, simple right? The day of starting sent up the red flag, I hear pounding from the laundry room, upon my investigation the "professional" was trying to force his extension cord into the dryer outlet with the wrong plug...you know, square peg...round hole...really!!! I sent him away to get the correct one, off to work I go. The professionals, both workers, have only been doing this for a little more than 1 year each, upon my my home I notice a trail of sawdust from my front porch all the way to the street, apparently no broom, inside the house I notice that fasteners from the original installation are showing, wow looks like they sanded to deed. Next day I asked the workers what they plan on doing with the exposed staple heads...nothing thy said, so...I called the office, may I speak to the owner?, not hear, may I help you?, I told her the issues, within 1 minute "O" called and said whoever installed the floor where "Hacks" and did a sub standard job, when the house was built I hired real professionals, a union company, in business for over 40 years, "O" had been listening to my call all the time, liers,. Next day the workers posted a note saying that they were ahead on schedule and would start the finishing process a day earlier, not OK!, they did anyway, my wife and I weren't happy, on the way to the motel, I called, they "O" said that there had been no schedule for the finish, LIARS!. On vacation I get a text that there was a problem with the finish and that it would have to be recoated because of fisheyes, flaws in the finish, upon our arrival home, first thing we see is bare spots where no finish had been applied, hairs, and yes fisheyes...all over the place, no recoat... LIARS! and our front door had been left open over the weekend...nice work guys!, my wife informed them of the problems, they..."O" and his wife, came out, scrapped off a few of the hairs, slopped on some finish over the bare spots, said "We are not leaving without a check" my wife felt intimidated, and fearful, so they have been paid. Fisheyes are still there, unsatisfied customer, looks like we will have to litigate a resolution, I HAVE STATED MY OPINION, which I have the up most authorities. read more

Called to setup an estimate for refinishing my floors. They wanted my email to do over the phone/email? 1st red flag! Asked about moving furniture. The lady said yes, but only items over 50lbs. I stated I'm handicapped and she didn't care. I get I'll have done one pact the items, but I have chairs, small tables, CD/DVD holder and so on. Her statement was we are not a moving company so you'll have to move these items. Must be nice to be able to move stuff freely . So, note to anyone think about using this company with any limitations. DON'T! read more

We got a quote to refinish our floors for a charge of $25, in advance, and not credited to account when we hired them for the job. Got a nice discussion of the history of wood floor finishes and an attempt to upsell us to a different finish than the traditional swedish finish. Did the job in the agreed upon time frame. When we had concerns after the job about the finish being easily stained and some damage from a minor water spill, we were told that the finish was not to blame for the damage but that he would do whatever it took to make us happy, including redoing the job with the swedish finish. They were to send us an email committing to this. When it hadn't arrived after a couple of weeks, I contacted Mr Ragalie. He reneged on his promise and was rude in the process. I would advise prospective customers to look elsewhere. read more

Treadline installed over 700 square feet of new hardwood (including stairs) and refinished the rest of the existing hardwood floors so that it all matched perfectly. They have examples of different finishes in their showroom which was very helpful in selecting the right finish for our home. They also had great references and we were able to actually see a house that they had done. They did a great job, stayed on schedule and the results are beautiful. Great to work with and we love the look. When we spilled something that stained the wood after installation they came quickly and solved the problem on the spot. I was very pleased with almost all aspects of the refinishing job that Treadline did on my hardwood floors. The owner, Ovi, was very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned about my satisfaction with the job. The workers on the project were knowledgable and tried to make the job as low-stress as possible for me. All the way from Greg who met with me to decide what I needed to my installers Mark and Mitch who made this transformation as easy as they could all with great attitudes and to Kelly who answered my questions after.
