Incompetent and arrogance. Will never shop there again. I had two blinds custom made (they were not cheap). I brought in the old ones and they measured them and ordered them from the manufacturer. The ones I picked up were 1/2" too wide. They tried to put it on me that I should have measured them instead (?). They said they would fix them and have them cut to the right size. They had them trimmed but they didn't cut them on both ends so the pull down tabs on the front are now off center. I asked for a discount. They said they could only approve $15 discount on each and that they would have a manager call me about it. They were still claiming it was somehow my fault. That was last Friday and today is Tuesday. Unbelievable that this is what they call service. read more

We redid the entire house with new carpet this August. Our entire experience was great. The salespeople were helpful without being pushy. I brought home sample after sample to try to find something that would work. The installers were prompt and friendly. I loved that we could get extra pieces of carpet bound at no cost. Several weeks after the installation we discovered that one of our closet doors wasn't closing properly. When I was thanking the guy for fixing the door even though we hadn't noticed it right away, he gave me a strange look and said "we stand behind our installation". We'd looked around and weren't really expecting the best prices because it seemed like a specialty shop, but we'd heard they were good. We quickly found a carpet we liked and were given a number of color samples to take home to try out. The basic price included installation and a high quality pad, sometime that was extra at other places. With a few weeks notice they were able to fit our install into their schedule, no problem. When I walked into Koeber's, I had been looking at flooring for over 6 months and done a ton of research, but I still felt lost as to what to get to replace our 19 year old carpet and vinyl on the first floor of our home. Jill pointed me to the pre-finished Mirage hardwood with the cashmere finish and said it's one of the best so I took a sample home, moved it around for a week, and decided that was the one. I'm SO impressed with how smoothly the installation went. The crew was courteous and they cleaned up at the end of every day and worked so hard to minimize the inconvenience for us. We are absolutely thrilled with how it turned out - it is absolutely beautiful and the quality is outstanding. 1,000 square feet of hardwood flooring is a big investment and clearly Koeber's understands what a big deal it is and they do everything they can to make the experience as positive as possible. The fine folks at Koeber's recently installed a new Mirage hardwood floor on the main level of our townhouse. We've been Koeber's customers for over 12 years, since a friend who'd used them for many years herself recommended them. So when we needed a new floor, the Koeber's showroom was our first and only stop. I generally do more comparative shopping than is probably necessary, but my past experience as a Koeber's customer makes that unnecessary: they've always offered extremely competitive pricing, excellent products and top notch customer service. They've earned my loyalty. This time was no different. As we narrowed down our choices, Jerry and Georgie suggested that if we could wait, we should order during the Customer Appreciation Event, to take advantage of sale prices, a special manufacturer's discount and we'd even get a thank you gift! Jerry's suggestion that we check with our insurance company was also brilliant: we'd never expected the replacement would be partially covered and would never have pursued it on our own. We saved a significant amount of money and were able to stay well within our budget. This job was much bigger than the carpet and vinyl work they'd done for us before. I knew it would take longer and be noisier, but I was not concerned about that. What had me stressed and nervous was how it would look when done. But at every step of the process, from ordering a sample box of wood and laying it out in my kitchen so I could see it before I made my choice final to working with me during the installation to achieve the light and dark wood variations I wanted; from changing the installation dates more than once to accommodate my unexpected cataract surgeries to sending such skillful, experienced and accommodating floor specialists to do the work, it was a pleasure - from start to finish - to work with Koeber's. After comparing MANY carpet & flooring stores we selected Koeber's for their extensive selection of quality carpets and flooring, for their solid reputation, level of service and turn key services. We wanted high end carpet (tuft twist of 5 or higher, density rating of 3,000 or higher, 34- to 40-oz. face weight, etc.) to replace the existing carpet on the main floor, stairs and our upstairs master bedroom. We also wanted COREtec Plus 5" Plank Flooring installed in our upstairs hallway. We found exactly what we were looking for at Koeber's. Jerry and the rest of the team made the entire process (from bid to installation) a breeze and trouble free. Their level of service is amazing! We loved the fact (unlike every other carpet stores) they don't lay the new carpet on the ground outside in order to cut it! They take precise measurements and pre-cut it in their shop. They removed all furniture in the rooms to be carpeted. They took great care with the furniture and protected the areas where they temporarily moved the furniture to. They also took the time to note where each piece was placed. And when the carpet and hallway flooring were installed they returned each piece EXACTLY where it was moved from. The thing we noticed right away from the day they arrived they don't rush they take their time to insure everything is done right. And we were amazed by the level of detail they go through to make sure the installation is perfect. Chris who installed our carpet is a true craftsman and takes pride in his work. And (I don't know how I could forget his name, guess I'm getting old!) the installer of the COREtec Plus flooring also did an amazing job. In addition to the Masland carpet on the main floor, stairs, the Shaw carpet in the master bedroom, and the COREtec Plus 5" Plank Flooring in the hallway we also selected an upgraded pad, Stainmaster "Pet Protect" pad with moisture barrier. We could not be more happy about every aspect of our experience with Koeber's and we plan to use them again when we re-carpet our other four bedrooms. *As side note about carpet pads: many people select an upgraded carpet pad but they don't get an upgraded pads with a moisture barrier. Why is a moisture barrier important? Besides stopping spills from soaking into the pad it also does not allow the pad to become soaked when you get your carpet cleaned. A pad with a moisture barrier prevents mold and delaminating of your subfloor! read more

I have used Koeber's for carpet installation many times over the years. Three years after we installed carpet in our master bedroom, it was discovered that the carpet had a major defect. The mill should have taken responsibility, but they didn't. Jerry Koeber went to bat for us, but the mill refused to do the right thing. Not impressed. My time is money, so when they sent someone out to measure, and they cut out a piece of my carpet to match, I expected a quote. Even if it's a "NoBid", for whatever reason. I called 3 times, and never got a call back. I'd even given them an estimate of the size (sq ft) when i made the appt, which was pretty accurate, even a bit less than their estimate. They'd been highly recommended, and I like to support family/small businesses, but things change. If you need carpet go elsewhere. I'm happy with my new carpet from another vendor. read more

Sadly, I wanted to love Koeber's, a family business. We try to go local and now we regret it. Beware, these nice folks are not finishers. We had carpet replaced in our den and hallway after retiling a bath and hallway. After the Koebers install the tile and carpet did not meet and left the raw edge of the tile exposed and pretty ugly. We mentioned this to them and they said, "there is nothing we can do except install a metal strip..". Sure, a metal strip is just what we are after. We withheld 10% of the bill hoping they would help us think of a solution...Never heard from them again. So now, we will likely do what should have been done by them; put a thicker pad or 1/4 inch subfloor addition to make this problem disappear. Really disappointing, we have another 2,000 square feet of carpet to install and it will be with a competitor. We will post how that works out. read more
