One of our cats decided earlier in the year that a part of our downstairs carpet was the perfect litter box. It was so aggravating that my solution was to cut out all of the affected carpet and pad, seal the floor, and then plop a couch on top that didn't allow kitty access. Fast forward a number of months and I realized I needed to fix the carpet before we move out in February. Luckily/unluckily we also had a fire in our house over the summer (my house might be cursed), so I had leftover carpet from that handy for the repair. I found the positive reviews about Carpet Surgeon on Yelp and decided to contact them about fixing my issue. Overall, it was a quick and painless process. My initial appointment was set for a Saturday morning and it turned out that both of the people that would have come to fix my carpet (the first guy and his back up) both had the flu and couldn't make it. It turns out I had a lot to do that day anyway, so I was kind of thankful I got to wait. When I got the call to reschedule (after I had forgotten to make that call myself--oops!), I got a perfect time slot after work that next Thursday. On Thursday, Jacob showed up exactly on time (4:30 on the dot!) and went to work. I explained the issue and showed him the carpet I had available, he sorted it out, and we chit-chatted about both being east coasters (I'm moving back that way soon, and he's moving to eastern Oregon, it turns out). When he was done, the carpet looked beautiful and perfectly covered the trouble spot. Now I just have to clean the rest of the carpet so it looks as nice as the new area. The price was more than reasonable, almost $30 less than I was hoping to pay when I set out to get this remedied, and everyone I interacted with on the phone and in person were nice (and competent) as can be. I'm writing this review on behalf of my boyfriend who doesn't Yelp at all, but had nothing but great things to say with his interactions with Micah, our service technician, from Carpet Surgeon. That means SO much coming from someone who doesn't leave reviews! After I had a horrible experience with a different carpet cleaning company (I won't name them... but you see their ads all over those Clipper Magazines!) I was desperate to find any company that would help me with my move out clean for my carpets. I sent inquiries to the masses on Yelp to see who had availability within the next day or so. I decided to go with Carpet Surgeon after Tess messaged me back within the hour providing me with several of the details I was looking for. She gave me a quote on what they charge but also providing a few discounts on top of their services for being a first-time customer as well as having a home that is completely empty. Score!! Her words were music to my desperate-to-get-my-carpets-cleaned ears. Come the day of cleaning we receive courtesy call from Micah to let us know he was on the way. This is where my (Lizzy) interactions ceased and my boyfriend, Jermaine, steps in. Micah was on time and walked Jermaine through with the cleaning plan. We were quoted a timeframe of about an hour. Once the job was finished Micah showed Jermaine a couple of the trouble spots and explained why a few spots showed up. Glen had excellent communication on the job and risk. Re-stretched all of my stairs (13) and the center switch back. Installed some padding near tile to carpet cross overs to prevent sharp edges.
