We recently completed a $100K renovation to our home and contracted with NVS Remodeling & Design to do the majority of the work. This included major renovations to the master bathroom and kitchen as well as minor renovations to other areas of the house. Overall we are very satisfied with NVS and highly recommend them to other homeowners looking to do major and minor improvements. Specifically, we rate NVS design and material recommendations very highly, but the construction process and subsequent quality of the construction require a little more explanation. We spent a lot of time with the NVS designer and salesman, who helped guide us through a number of design and material options until we found exactly what we wanted-although the choices often exceeded our budget, sometimes by a significant amount. In the end, though, we love the way everything looks and feels. The biggest problem for us was that the NVS site manager and contractors were often so busy with other jobs that much of our work kept getting pushed later and later, even though we had a firm completion deadline. This, as well as some ordering delays , resulted in rushed work as the deadline approached-and was ultimately missed-and construction quality issues that we were definitely not satisfied with. However, we feel this is where NVS really distinguishes itself from other contractors we have worked with and why we highly recommend them to other homeowners. Glen Miracle, the owner of NVS, personally took responsibility for these issues and walked through our home with a new site manager and asked us what we were not satisfied with. They went the extra distance to fix everything we did not like to bring the quality up to the level we expected. The final quality of their work is superb and we are extremely pleased. They even come back out after 90 days and one year to check that we are still satisfied with our renovations. We not only highly recommend NVS Remodeling & Design to other homeowners, we will use NVS again for other improvements we plan to do to our home in the next few years because of their commitment to ensuring their customers are completely satisfied with the work. read more

We have re-modeled homes in several communities around the U.S., including other homes in the DC-metro area. We have used various models, such as acting as our own general contractor and working with a general contractor. Despite lots of experience, we are thrilled that for our latest re-model, including kitchen and master bath, we decided to use a "design-build" company for the job, and that we selected NVS as our partner. We interviewed three other companies and found NVS to possess the "entire package": great reputation and customer recommendations, knowledgeable and creative sales and design staff, experienced, dedicated lead carpenter, and responsive and engaged management. The NVS designer Alison was creative and always made herself available. The NVS team was respectful of our budget, and gave us time to make our many selections of tile, lighting, appliances, and paint colors. Their lead carpenter Paul was onsite every day and did his best to keep the worksite clean of dust. He was also considerate of our preferences for height and location of things, e.g. towel bars, hooks, etc. and even went the extra mile to create a "railing" for taller bottles in the rollout "spice drawers." The company was very thoughtful, made us feel important to their business, and special (such as having professional photos done for houzz.com) and presenting us with a gift basket at the completion of the project. We had our Kitchen remodeled this past spring and were really wanting to have a company that could communicate with us and hold our hands during the remodeling process. From granite selection to their in-house designers, the process of going from a drab to fab kitchen was beyond easy and the results were beyond impressive. The after pictures of our kitchen remodel were so great, we got NVS to do every bathroom in our home! They were in and out in the time they told us and the project was finished a few days early. The high quality of work really made our home appreciate in value (not that I'm going to sell such an awesome kitchen anytime soon)! They have a large showroom in Manassas and a smaller (more convenient) location in Falls Church by the new post office. Heard of NVS Kitchen & Bath / Remodeling & Design from a friend of mine and decided to look into them to remodel the powder room on the main level of my oh-so-small town home. After meeting with their in-house designer (thank goodness - me and design ideas are like 3rd cousins twice removed), I agreed to let them have at it on the half bath, and I am oh-so-happy I did! From start to finish, the process was super easy. Their designer would give me some recommendations for tile / backsplash choice that worked well with my budget and I would simply give her the go ahead. The carpenter was in and out in less time than I expected and always cleaned up after himself (yes, apparently men CAN clean up). The end result was beyond my expectations - I know the room was small, but the effect it had on the overall look and feel of the home was wonderful! I can't help but leave the light on in the powder room when guests come over so they can see how great it looks! My grandmother got her kitchen redone about 2 years ago and went with NVS Kitchen and Bath. It could have been hectic after she added remodeling all her bathrooms at the same time, but they did a really great job keeping the job site organized and clean. The end results have been great. We've thoroughly enjoyed the remodel every Christmas and Thanksgiving for 2 years now. You really don't know how much difference a remodel is going to make until you get a chance to enjoy the remodel, sitting down, eating dinner, and enjoying being able to actually *see* your food (lighting is oh so important). I had NVS Kitchen and Bath redo my 35-year-old kitchen. While I did not want to change the layout too much, there was a built-in desk area I no longer wanted. Designer Alison Martin came up with a plan to utilize the space more effectively. The new pullout pantry makes organizing so easy. The Dura Supreme cherry cabinetry I chose is just beautiful and warm. I admire it every day and now can't believe I lived with my old cupboards for so many years. Other than the cabinets, my favorite part of the kitchen is the flooring. The DuraCeramic floor turned out so nice and compliments the cabinet color. I purchased a foreclosured town house that had possibly the worst yellow kitchen you ever saw. NVS transformed my space and added thousands of dollars of value to my home. One of their in-house designers came up with the idea to tear down a wall. I would never had thought of that, but it opened up my floor plan and made my home feel much newer than it actual is. Also, their tile-person came to me with ideas of his own. For just a little more cost to me he added decorative glass tiles that really turned my backsplash and floor into a work of art. We had our kitchen totally remodeled by NVS. Everything was wonderful - from the begining to the end. My wife and I felt very "taken care of", and anytime anything happpened that was not to our liking was changed right away. We wanted to convert a rental property to a home for my parents. The hall bath was definitely showing wear and tear, so we had Chris Mirko come out to give us an estimate for a complete remodel. The best thing about working with NVS was the on site carpenter/coordinator who is there every day and answers emails and texts whenever you have concerns. I have never experienced such support and really appreciated it. The second best thing is the quality of the subcontractors.
