Worst time ever, the hamburger buns were stale and meat was dry and tasteless. There were 7 in our party and two had to wait for over 45 minutes to get their meal. We were told the kitchen staff screwed up. My granddaughters mac and cheese had hair in it. Please see photo. In the photo there is two hairs, but she found several more. We were there on a Friday afternoon (7/10)--the place was packed full of little league traveling team members and families. We were in town visiting for 6 days. When we checked in to the Holiday Inn we were told the best place to eat was Nutz Deep II. We tried a gluten free, dairy free vegetable thin crust pizza. It was very good! The sauce had so much flavor and the crust tasted like regular pizza crust should- crunchy and not gritty!!! Thanks for a great pizza I could enjoy and know I would not get sick tomorrow. We also ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Reuben, and cheese curds. Everything was very good! Living in the south, it's been a long time since we've been able to get good cheese curds- these were awesome! I would recommend the Reuben and Buffalo Chicken Wrap to everyone. If you are afraid it's just a bar, be pleasantly surprised that there is a dining room separate from the bar. It was nice also that this place does not close early, like other places in town do, they stay open until 2 am and food is available! That previous sentence was not hyperbole. If I find a better burger in the US, I will retract my statement. Yes, you'll have to explain the name on the receipt to your wife or on your expense report, but take a picture to prove you're eating burgers and not "making it rain". The burger patty is really what makes this stand out - huge, juicy and cooked with a grilled on the back-yard BBQ flavor that comes through even though the toppings are generous and tasty. The bun is also great, spongy and appropriately sized for the huge patty. It does not get soggy and fall apart halfway through. Do I even need to explain the cheese? We're in Wisconsin. Here is truth: You don't need some art school drop out in a high brow hipster Gastropub charging $18 to perfect a burger, you need good old fashioned central Wisconsin know-how that came from years of experience in making burgers for hungry farmers and truckers. There always seems to be a lively group of people here on the rare occasion I go out on a weekend. It's nice to know there will be other people at Nutz when the other bars are barren. I usually go to Nutz for the food. I am in love with their shrimp. It's nothing fancy, just some deep fried bar shrimp, but it's crispy and I can count on them having Guinness on tap for me to drink while I'm there too. I've been here multiple times and the service is always good even when they are busy. The food lacks something to be desired. I have nothing but nice things to say about this bar it's very welcoming and friendly environment I love the staff. very quick on your orders the chief is. Bartenders are fast on the drinks and they take everything like a business should. I'd definitely Recommend this place if your looking to watch any game if one is not on you can ask the bartender too turn it on. Good pool tables and dart tables downstairs in good shape. Great for parties and get togethers. The food is amazing and cooked too your liking I like how they expanded the menu out and bringing new things too it as well. I love how Chris the bartender made a concoction because I wasn't sure what too drink and he knew I liked fruity. Dan is a waiter and is very kind and talks too everyone can hold a conversation and is fast with tables. Always checks on your table and makes sure your doing okay. Nutz Deep II is one of our go-to places if we don't feel like dinner at home or for meeting family to socialize. You haven't lived until you've heard your grandma say, "How about if we go to Nutz Deep?" Never thought I'd hear that one. Everything to eat here is pretty solid. Of course you can't go wrong with the burgers, as a number of other reviewers have mentioned. My wife's favorite is the fish combo where you get two really large fish filets, one haddock and one cod, and some large shrimp. I would also recommend the bleu cheese chips appetizer which includes homemade chips, bleu cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, bacon, onions, tomato, and probably a couple other things I forgot. It's quite a large platter which could be a whole meal or enough for at least 2 or 3 people to snack on. This is also a great place to have a few beers or drinks. They have a number of Wisconsin brews on tap, and a good atmosphere to just hang out with some friends and have a few. I'd say the service is above average for the Marshfield area. Overall this is one of the first places I'd recommend to eat around Marshfield. read more
