The guy who left a review before me is spot on about this place. They won't let you just come in and buy what you want. Some of their products are awesome, but then you go in to buy a product that they sell and the car salesman behind the counter says "BRO, Don't get that. Don't get that bro." And so I think to myself "Well then why do you carry this if I should get something else?" Try it. Mark my words. Go in and grab a product off the wall and wait for the sales rep to say "BRO, come on...don't get that. Get this." or "Try this. It's better." (Also more expensive) I hate places that work off commission. If I want to be educated, I'll ask. Let me come in and buy what I want! It's gotten so bad (because like everyone else, I hate being sold) that I'm considering just going somewhere else for my products. At first, I walked in and it was very quiet and I think I went unnoticed. I was looking around and just some training equipment(Gloves/straps/body fat test). I walked a little more to the middle of the shop and without even saying anything the guy at the counter saw me and just checked in on how I was doing. I did the average customer thing. "I'm fine... Actually I have a question." I then went to explain what I'm doing with my own workout/exercise. First thing he asked me was what my goal was. Right then, I knew that he would have some (Hoping good) information for me. He went on to actually listen to what I do, What I want and What my goal was. After doing so, He explained what would be best for me but DID NOT try to sell me anything. instead he gave me a few pamphlets and suggested I read up on them(Pro7ien and Glutacor). After just telling me about that I asked him a few more questions and we spent a good 10 minutes just talking about What will work best for me. I live walking distance from this place and I'm glad I do. Walked in randomly one day and was convinced by the sales assoiciate(Dorian) who was incredibly helpful to but there special protien, glutamine, vitamin and fuel for fat loss and muscle gain. Thought it was B.S but tried it anyway because I was lacking in my protein intake anyway. They calibrated my body fat and weight and gave me a 10 day challenge to follow. 10 days later NO joke. I need to find a wall to bang my head against. For years I have been buying my protein powder here starting with the Nu-Tek Pro 5, and then moving on to the Pro 7 on the advice of Big Dan. Excellent product with great results. At some point, both Dan's asked about what my fitness goals were. After my running, marathon and endurance stories, they both strongly recommended I include the supplement Glutacor with my Pro-7. Sadly, I made the mistake of interpreting it as a sales pitch rather than helpful advice. Fast-forward to 3 weeks ago-after deciding to advance to ultra-running, my training has become more and more demanding. By some coincidence, a friend already had Glutacor, and lent it to me for a weekend. Perfect timing, as I had an intense 8hr run/hike scheduled; a great opportunity to test the Glutacor. After an epic day, and only a short recovery time, I can state it definitely works! The demands placed on my body, and the damage done was a tough test for the Glutacor, but I was back on the trail two days later for a 9 miler. Exactly what I need for the intense demands of my sport. I have since bought my own supply of Glutacor, and it helps so much for recovery, I'm astonished. My first experience here would be a 10 star rating if it were possible, but because my second visit was so horrible, giving them a 2 star rating is saying a lot, but it is annoying that I pick up my stuff in Woodland Hills or Pasadena when I live right by this store. With the new year here I really want to see results, but I had such a terrible experience here that I'd rather drive way out of my way to get my supplements. Recommended by several girlfriends to go see Dan the Asian guy, like everyone else calls him LOL. I have never met a person so knowledgeable at a store like this. I have tried products from various stores, Vitmain Shoppe being the worst by far; mainly because what the person recommended made me feel sick. I was very skeptical either way, but my friend Michelle told me to go see Dan, the Asian one, I will explain why later on My first experience at this store left me feeling like I actually learned something, Dan talked to me like he cared, and he made sense of everything that we talked about, I am not an expert at all, but I am a nurse and my bf is a dietician; so it is not like I am blind to health and nutrition sciences. With that being said, you could tell that everything Dan spoke about was backed up by educated information. I asked him tons of questions, and with no hesitation he had an answer; I practically convinced myself that I would be shopping for a good reason after Dan explained why some things were absolutely necessary and why others were up to how far I would like to take my results. I was seriously there for at least an hour and he helped 10 other customers while still keeping me in the conversation. It was funny, but while he was helping the other customers, not 1, but 3 different customers told me to listen to him, that he knew everything he was talking about. When it was all said and done, I purchased the watermelon Thermovex, Protein 7, Natures fuel, Natures EFA and the glutacor. I also purchased a few things for my boyfriend, the 1-xd, arabol, and betabol. That same night my boyfriend called him on the phone and talked to him for 15-20 minutes, Dan encouraged him to also use some of my protein and glutacor mix. After about 3 weeks we both wanted to come in and tell him he was right about everything that he said, and that we were loving everything! BIG MISTAKE We went in there excited to talk to Asian Dan, and there was an older guy in there that was wearing a hat. After reading the reviews its apparent this guy is the owner, my question is, why is Asian Dan more of an expert than the owner? You would think the owner would know more than the employees, go check it out for yourself, you will know exactly what i am talking about if you talk to Asian dan, and than the owner. Back to our experience, which was the worst sales experience i have ever been in. We started grabbing some of the things that we previously had gotten to bring up to the counter and this man asked us how we used it, and than once we told him it was like he was mad at us, like why are you using it like that? Its suppose to be used 3-4 times per day, I was thinking calm down dude, your talking me out of buying your products. I told him that Asian Dan had told us to use it this way, and it looked like he was going to explode in anger, he started grabbing all of these flyers that we already had, and talked to us like we were complete idiots, when in reality we know more about diet and exercise than he does. He also kept insisting that my boyfriend drink 8 servings of the protein 7 per day, which is at least half whey protein, 4 times per day, two servings per use and he's only 165 pounds! If that's not sales, than i don't know what is. I hate to be honest about this experience, but my boyfriend is a doctor of nutrition and he has never seen somebody try so hard to push falsified claims about products and ingredients that you could easily go look up online and see that he is clearly wrong. Nutrishop has amazing products, but I would avoid this store unless you know Asian Dan will be working. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place and I certainly would not go anywhere else to purchase supplements. As a lifetime athlete, and avid weight lifter for the last decade, I have tried countless supplements and have been sold on many useless products at varies supplement stores. Since shopping at Nutrishop (Hollywood location) for the last year, Dan has been nothing but truthful and knowledgeable about every product that I've purchased. Whether my goal is to bulk, cut, trim, or maintain, the products that I have been advised to purchase are spot on with the results that I am looking for. I hate going into these places. I leave it to my husband. I always end up in GNC like places with a bunch of thermogenics and some glorified fiber. So I had given up. My husband found this place and told me I did not need to go in but to at least call Dan. I had my doubts but I begrudgingly made the call and listened- thank god. Finally, a great a nutritional place! This place has everything I have been looking for. I have been a vegan for 4 years and recently wanted to get into working out. I knew I needed to take supplements and adjust some of the nutrients I get, but I didn't really know what I was doing. I went to several other nutritional stores, but no one had any clue what they were talking about or doing. I was ready to give up until I came across Nutrishop while cruising Sunset Blvd. with some friends. I was hesitant to go in at first because of my previous experiences at health places. I absolutely love this store. It's well stocked, and always an awesome experience. They're all so knowledgable Of Nutrition, And how to build muscle as a professional athlete. So, to be fair, some of the criticisms that people have dropped on here are based in truth, however there's more to it. Big Dan the owner is loud, pushy, excitable, think bodybuilder infomercial. He is even annoying. However after 2 years using their products religiously, I went from a 36 year old, out of shape 6'1 230 pound guy, to a 38 year old, 6'1 200 pound guy who is better shape than EVER in my life. That's counting boot camp ( Army not West Hollywood). So to summarize about the owner he is selling a product that is the very best on the market, not only to be a " muscle guy " but to promote healthy joints, body fat reduction, vitamin supplements and general well being. The fact that he does this in a pushy way evidences his belief in the quality product he is selling. Now: Asian Dan is another story. He is a professional level athlete who studied nutrition extensively in college while competing as a wrestler, marathoner and bodybuilding. He is fitness model shredded and will spend an hour educating one for free with an honest desire to be helpful. He can come off as a know it all, but he actually does know a lot of stuff and if you ask him to explain technical terms he will. When you walk into GNC its typically people who know NOTHING and haven't worked out a single day in their lives and all they can say is what is a popular seller. Though this is less intimidating to one such as me who was really out of shape, I would rather deal with the intimidating place selling a superior product for a fair price and gives truck loads of free advice. I have even tried a testosterone booster that gave me an upset stomache and then returned it and never got any crap for it. These guys stand behind the product. I have been in the store on many occasions where groupy girls sit there flirting with Asian Dan waiting for him to ask them out. I think that the girl who left 1 star was one of them. For the other complainers, I know it's intimidating, but making a major lifestyle change to save your own life and live a healthy free lifestyle takes a LOT of work. He did a Body Composition Analysis for free while I was in the shop and spent no less than 30 minutes explaining in detail the use and benefits of each of the products that would help me the most to reach my goals. Dan "the Asian guy" (he told me to use that description) is awesome (didn't tell me to say that)! I know very little to nothing about supplements and if I weren't as frugal as I am I would easily buy more than I need, often. Rarely have I walked into a supplement store and not felt like the clerk was just trying to make a sale. The first time I went into Nutrishop I stacked the counter with items I thought I needed. After Dan patiently explained the function of each bottle's contents he asked me what I wanted to achieve.
