Convenient locale in North Amsterdam. Menu is varied from Kebobs to Sautes to Pastas to Pizza. Pizzas are quite good. Turskish grill was the latest dish I ordered. Good. Kind of like Lamb fajitas. I'd get it again. Reasonable wines. Very friendly staff. No complaints at all.

2 pints beers (11 euros), pizza (8.50 euros) ,chicken pasta (10 euros)and chicken specialty(16.50 euros). Great free bread with the spread.

Great food and service. We enjoyed our dinner. We love all of the food we ordered . They gave a free bread with the spread.

Yep that's just 1/2 of my calzone!

This place is relaxing! Light jazz music playing in the background. I've never been disappointed in the food. I got a calzone special with veggies & pepperoni. It is good light & filling. You could get 2 meals out of this. Yummy! They only have one beer on tap Heineken. I get it every time. It fresh & good. They also have a wide variety of spirits. The menu has a variety of pizza, pasta dishes, lamb, steak and salads. Also the famous fritters with mayo! Big plus all staff speak English.

I eat here whenever I am in Amsterdam. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. My favorite is the Lamb.

Food is always delicious and the portions are huge. I had the lamb. It was very good. Service was great!

This place looks out on the water and the Amsterdam train station, such a pretty view when the sun began to set. The atmosphere of this restaurant was great, super cozy and plenty of room to sit with a large bar near the middle of the space. We stopped in for happy hour and ordered 2 Bloody Mary's & chips and guac to share. The Bloody Mary's were perfect and the chips that came with the guac were the best tortilla chip I have ever had! Were they home made? Where did they come from? I need to know!

We arrived around 5:15 PM and dinner didn't technically start until 5:30. Didn't mind waiting, but extremely slow service. We hadn't decided on drinks when the waitress first came up to us, but it was a mission to wave someone down when we were ready a few mins later. There were also a bunch of workers who walked past and didn't check in even though we were just sitting there. They do offer a menu in English. After we were finally able to order, we ordered the Dutch bread, Caesar salad, and pastrami dish. They serve small dishes here and it's meant to be shared. Prices were decent and food was above average. I got the Dutch mule and it was pretty good and not watered down. The space is open, like a large cafeteria. It did fill up after dinner started so feels like it's the place where locals go for authentic food.

Located on the Rozengracht, it's super central and easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Jordaan or the Center. * The Atmosphere: It's dark, moody, and has a very cool "late-night" energy. Even if you aren't sure what it is from the street, the vibe inside is unmistakable. * The Food: If you like meat, this is your spot. The burgers are massive and juicy, and the ribs literally fall off the bone. * The Vibe: It's a bit louder and more energetic than a standard restaurant, making it perfect for a night out with a group or a casual date with great cocktails. It gets incredibly busy, so even though it feels like a "hidden" spot from the outside, you'll definitely want to book a table ahead of time. Overall: A total neighborhood win. Don't make the mistake of walking past it for as long as I did!

We entered and seated ourselves, and within 5 minutes, a staff person greeted us, brought us a flask of tap water (tastes great and clean) and two glasses, and gave us menus. We ordered a short rib sandwich for him and a chicken Caesar sandwich for me. These come à la carte but you can add sides if you want. I was glad we didn't because the portion was generous. One thing I've noticed here is that the bread is always high quality--our sandwiches came in baguettes about 8 inches long --I had to cut mine in half to eat it lol. Both were savory and flavorful and satisfying. The meat was tender and well seasoned. We savored every bite! They both had crispy bacon in them as well. Very filling! Just what we needed to energize us after our morning at Keukenhof!

At Piet de Gruyter this thin fried bread from ground lentils and spices is dressed-up with a salad of seaweed, slices of slightly baked tuna, pickled ginger, rocket, teriyaki sauce and wasabi mayonnaise. This Indian-Japanese recipe may seem odd, but it's pretty divine - especially without the mayonnaise. The cooks of this unpretentious café and restaurant are world famous in town for another unusual lunch dish too: the vlamtosti, toasted bread with cheese and spicy minced meat. People with less adventurous taste buds could stick to their omelette with confit de canard or the sandwich with sauerkraut and pastrami. Just a coffee is an option too in this ultra welcoming spot where students, sixtysomethings, actors and advertising people mingle. The owners of De Gruyter, Maarten, Allard and Floriaan recently opened a new place across the street: Viscafé de Gouden Hoek. A must-go if you like to eat good quality fish in a relaxed setting.
