Heading home and hungry for taje-put Chinese food -- so I decided to stop and try. The General Tso chicken was very good -- the chicken was crispy, the sauce sweet and spicy. I would order it again with just white rice. The egg roll and fried rice that came with the combo were just average takeout.

As a Jewish family looking for a traditional Christmas meal, we were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty. The ambiance was cozy and festive, making it feel like the perfect spot for a holiday dinner. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes--everything from boneless pork ribs and sweet and sour pork to egg rolls and wonton soup. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The standout for us was the seseame chicken--it was the perfect balance of crispy and tender with just the right amount of sauce. The restaurant was bustling with fellow diners, many of whom we could tell were also enjoying their own holiday meals. It was such a heartwarming, community-driven atmosphere, and the food was the star of the show. If you're in the Bluffton area and looking for a festive, delicious, and comforting meal on Christmas Eve--or any day--Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant is the place to go. We'll definitely be back next year! Don't mind the old boomers complaining that this small town Chinese restaurant can't keep up with the demand of orders on their busiest day of the year. They should've went to Panda Express if they wanted lowsy Chinese food fast.

Hi Everyone, Ya,…read moreknow, maybe you don't feel like bagging your lunch today, or making diner tonight, but you've got to eat! What ever will you do? What type of food do you want to eat, now or later? Questions, questions, those nagging questions. Well we here, in the peanut gallery, may have a solution for you today. If you enjoy eating Sushi (Japanese cuisine, in which raw or cooked fish can be inserted into or be placed a top a rice roll with other ingredients). Now I thought that Sushi was ONLY raw fish (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), and Sushmi which I thought was actually only cooked fish inserted in, or a top a rice roll, with other ingredients, such as seaweed, cream cheese, imitation crab (I.e. pressed white fish) etc... But, bust my buttons, Sushmi is actually Hindu female name, not a name for Asian cusine, which means welcoming or pleasant, (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), but I digress, along with some other Chinese classics then we can highly recommend you visit AKOMEYA right here in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because my friends, their food entrees are actually very savory and delicious treats. Their ambiance is inviting, neat, and clean. Their Servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. Their prices are affordable, that's right, as in, most of us can actually afford to pay for them. For instance, they offer four lunch (ONLY) Chinese meals that are relatively healthy as prepared with a delicate balanced of ingredients that are tastebuds delight. And yes, Jethro, them there "viddles" will fill your belly and keep you a comin back for more helpins! But for how much? $10.00 per entree. Now that them their is an affordable price for lunch, even for Jethro da Bodeen. Their diner menu offers many delightful and tasty tantalizing entrees as well which we have also have enjoyed multiple times. So if you have a hankerin for some good viddles like our man Jethro, it's time to get on down to AKOMEYA and git sum. BTW, Akomeya is also a specialty rice shop with locations at many major train stations in Tokyo. Although rice is their main focus, they also offer an impressive selection of kitchen goods, condiments, and snacks--making it a must-visit for cooking enthusiasts or anyone in search of thoughtful, Japan-made gifts (which I know you knew, but I didn't ). Enjoy!

Never asked again. Then I asked for a glass of water and she didn't say a word. Just turned around and got it. Brought it back and just sat it down and walked away. We ordered two sushi rolls and she didn't bring utensils to eat it with. I had to find them for us. Then my wife wanted a little bowl for soy sauce. I had to go find it because our server was no where to be found. She had an attitude about anything we asked for. I'm not joking when I say it was the worst service I've ever had. Needless to say the tip wasn't what it should have been or could have been. Now the food? Awesome! I had the hot sand sour soup (one of the best I've ever had), we had two different sushi rolls. One was the Akomeyea roll and the other was some tuna roll I didn't eat. The chicken low mien was very good and plenty of it. I gave it 3 stars because the food was very good. If we ever decide to get dinner here again it would definitely be to go. No way would I eat in the restaurant again with service like that and as empty as the place was. I get why it was like that if all the service is like that.

The takeout was neatly packaged and deconstructed (I just got the pho tai), and you put it together at home. It was quite good! Fast forward when pandemic started to let up and the tables were out and you could eat in. Wow, well the eat-in experience was just way more enjoyable. But I really just enjoyed ordering food at sitting for a change. The workers are super nice and accommodating. It gets busy here at times! And no surprise... as the only pho business in town! Now is it the best pho I've ever had? No, but it is quite good and I'm not going to be picky! They have the basics plus some. Wish they had the coconut juice and smoothies, but I rather have the good food. We come here almost weekly, if not more! Warning however, don't expect big city cheaper prices. This is the only pho in town and they charge in line with it. What we order for 2 adults and a kid is *almost* twice what we'd pay even in CT. But it's good enough to warrant it. If there's ever another decent pho place that comes to Bluffton however, it might be beneficial competition for diners. A big draw... their pork dumplings are AMAZING!! My daughter and husband loves them so much, they insist on their own appetizer each. They are so well crisped all around and just so tasty. Definitely recommend! Also, I always end get their regular beef pho (pho tai) and we get my daughter the chicken on broken rice. (Oddly it's not actually on the menu, but they have it). It's like sliced up thin chicken in a delicious seasoning that's sweet but also a tiny bit of a kick. My daughter hates spicy but still eats this! It comes with a sweet sauce (one similar to the kind that you pour on a bun (noodle) salad dish), and my daughter likes to dip the chicken slices in it. I keep thinking I'd branch out to try other dishes, so maybe I will eventually! If you are hungry for pho, or some other great dishes, definitely come here!

My first-ever negative review of a restaurant: this place is NO BUENO. Traveling to Bluffton on…read morebusiness. Hungry and tired after a long/hard 14 hour days work. First impression as you enter; the place is dirty, surprisingly dirty. The door had cobwebs and mold growth on the door itself. How hard is it to wipe down a door? Zero customers anywhere. Bathroom was bad - yikes bad. Next, there were 2 young children literally laying about on the floor in a corner resting on a makeshift bed with pillows and blankets watching videos on a tablet at full volume while the adults are ignoring the kids and any basic cleaning efforts. My gut say leave. I'm here and hungry, I choose to ignore my instincts and order chicken fried rice. How do you screw up chicken fried rice? I walk next door to check into an adjacent hotel, come back 10 minutes later and the employee gives me a bag. I fail to inspect the bag and assume he gave me my order - wrong. I walk back from the hotel and he gives me a different bag. Ok, no problem - simple /honest mistake - I'm a reasonable guy and choose not to comment or complain. Back to the hotel, open the chicken fried rice order and settle in for a well deserved meal. After a couple bites, I don't see any chicken - at all. No eggs. Zero peas and carrots. No scallions. Couple more bites - no protein, only TINY minuscule slivers of a chicken-like substance. Not sure why, but I call the restaurant to inquire about the order and he says bring it back. So now I'm back in this dirty, poorly managed, code violation worthy restaurant to show them there is no meat or vegetables in the order he just prepared 15 minutes ago. He begins yelling at me, saying: "what do you expect " and; "do you want a whole chicken!" in broken English. I decide to make a joke to bring some levity to the conflict and say; "you need a microscope to see the chicken". I smile. He does not find the humor in my comment. His face is now red and he's surprisingly overly angry at me for complaining. I suddenly realize the real reason he's so upset is because he knows his food is low-grade, his family is miserable, he has no customers, and his restaurant is failing. He continues yelling at me so I accept my defeat and depart quietly taking care not to touch the mold growth on the door as I leave.
