Very friendly staff and lovely interior that appears to be newly renovated. I give the food 3.5 stars. The soups (both chicken corn and manchow) lacked flavor and we had to add vinegar, chilis, soy sauce, and pepper. The Hyderabad goat wasn't super tender but not tough either. It was fine but I would try something different next time. The chicken Kohlapuri was interesting. I cannot describe its flavor but not bad. The owner and staff were truly lovely and very proud of their restaurant and food. I'd give our experience 3.75 stars so rounding to 4. read more

Visited Nukkad after a long time and I must say they've leveled up a lot. The atmosphere was amazing so I decided to bring my family for lunch and it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious the service was excellent and the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming. Abdullah at the counter was really helpful guided us on what to order and even surprised us with a complimentary Gulab Jamun. It was absolutely delicious and made our experience even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food a wonderful atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. We'll definitely be visiting again. read more

FUNGUS !! . These guys have gone down in quality and taste. Ordered a curry dish and came with fungus. Will report to Department of Health and Safety so a kitchen inspection can be done and quality standards can be maintained. read more

My mother LOVES the green kheema here. It's so delicious! We've tried a couple other things and they never disappoint. We usually do take-out when we visit this establishment. It's a very casual, plain, place. Literally like a "dhaba", so don't expect anything fancy. read more

Could this be the next Aga's Restaurant? Requested their recommendations; had the Nukkad Chicken Masala and Pahadi Boti. With 4 naan. And enjoyed an Ice Cream Desi-Style Kulfi during the wait. The wait was definitely a lot longer than expected (told 20-30 mins, felt more like an hour); but they did give me an advance notice that these items would take longer to prepare. In any case, I admired the inner simplicity and cleanliness of the restaurant. Their outside (and possibly location) requires some work. Unfortunately we all do tend to judge a book by its cover once in a while. Some more than others. But once we get the chance to overlook the outer brokenness and desolation, and make ourselves vulnerable to one another, like the jagged edges of a saw, the pieces all come together so masterfully. We were looking for restaurants open at 10pm and found this place. There were a lot of people at around 10pm which was surprising to me and a lot of Togo orders. We loved the butter chicken. it's flavorful and its different unlike the regular butter chicken. Schezwan chicken lollipop was not great and it was very mild on spice. In menu, it says lollipop but it was actually large drumsticks. The wait time was horrible. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food. The server didn't mention a thing and we had to keep asking when the food would arrive. read more

Nukkad Dhaba - the floor of a restaurant - Indian Near Me - Houston, Texas

Tasty food. Fast service and amazing ambiance with desi feel. Heaven for desi people living in houston

Ordered chicken 65 appetizer to go, only thing worth mentioning about the dish is appearance. Won't come back for to go order for sure. However, the ambiance is good despite the place being small. Really clean bathroom; top notch service (I chose to have tea while waiting for the to go order, since they didn't have samosa etc. enough quantity, they offered onion pakoda complementary). Will be back to try kebabs and currys read more

The food was Good, surprisingly, and the service was great too. We went there around 10ish PM and there were a lot of people there. The biryani, fish, kabobs, and karahi were cooked very well. I would go there again. Usually I don't leave reviews, but sometimes you gotta man. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but it has pretty decent food. We came on a Friday a little before normal lunch and the place was pretty empty. I don't think we saw another group be seated. I think most people get the food Togo. They have a main seating area in front of the counter where you order and then a second "family room" which was a little nicer. We ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, goat byriani, gaajar halwa, and a mango lassi. The butter chicken was tasty and I would highly recommend it. Their garlic naan was pretty good too. I liked the goat byriani. It was packed with flavor but the person I was with thought it was a little different from traditional goat byriani. I think most people are going to be pretty happy with it though. I was a little surprised they didn't serve it with a raita. The food was served with carrots, onions, and a dipping sauce. The mango lassi was pretty standard - which is to say delicious. As far as pricing goes this place was pretty reasonable. The byriani was ~$12. There's cheeper calories out there but I would say this was well priced. read more

It was our first time here and we were very happy. We ordered the Chana Masala, Dal Fry, Mixed Vegetables, Butter Chicken, Naan and extra rice just to make sure... for take-out . It was a huge quantity of food and everything was really good. The staff were very nice and accommodating. read more

STAY AWAY!! Have no words for this hole in the $hit ! place. Service: worst ever. Owner or whoever was managing that place was rude and arrogant..... We thought food would be good, but guess what that was even more disappointing!!! Panner chili was so bad! Rest of our order didn't show up until 1 hr...... After that we went and had dinner at Neeta's on Hillcroft. STAY AWAY!!! From this place! read more

I was unexpectedly in the area and needed lunch, and I am glad I had the opportunity to try this place! Inside is clean and staff very friendly. I placed my order and waited under 10 minutes. I got the dal fry, butter naan and cumin rice. The fragrances are enticing, and food is flavorful and served HOT. Easily enough time for delivery or take out to get home and still piping hot. The dal borders on too oily, but fresh herbs brighten it and keep it from being too heavy. Definitely planning to go back and try other dishes. read more

Nukkad is amazing. The Goat Chops, Nukkad Goat Masala, Hyderabadi Gosht, Pahadi Kabab, Dal Fry and Chapati are the best items. The Goat Biryani is really good too. It takes about an hour to prepare the Goat Chops - but the result is more than worth the wait and a MUST TRY. I haven't tried the Chinese food yet but it looks and smells good. The Chicken Bite and Beef Patisse are the best breakfast items in the mornings. I've tried the tea but was not impressed - you see I'm from Hyderabad, India so pretty much any chai in Houston doesn't make me happy. Customer service is great. One Thursday morning, I called them and didn't get a response, so I drove to Nukkad and saw that a major cleaning was underway, I was told that it would take them the whole day to clean and disinfect on account of which the restaurant was shut down for the day. read more

Best Bombay style butter chicken!!! Food is great !! We ordered Indian Chinese food and butter chicken ! Soup was good but not the best (3/5). Triple Schewan (3/5) was all right too. However the show stopper was butter chicken . It was like eating in a restaurant in Bombay ! The only downside of this place is the ambience and oil! They use too much oil in their food and so I am giving them a 4. read more

I got the lunch special beef nihari $8.99 and added a garlic naan. I didn't think there was much flavor to the beef and there was maybe 3-4 actual pieces of meat in it. Those pieces were heavy in fat too. When I was done eating there was still half a bowl of gravy. Definitely need to serve decent portions . I might try something else on the menu if I ever come back. Plus side is they are open til late read more

Nukkad Dhaba - Garlic naan and beef nihari. Too much gravy not enough meat - Indian Near Me - Houston, Texas

to start off it's a pakistani indian restaurant which serves Chinese food. that tells you a lot. the only thing good is the chicken lollipop & I think I got lucky.(1 & 1/2 stars) Bollywood movie that was playing kinda kept me entertained and distracted(1/2 star). the guy saw us in his camera outside the door for like 45+ seconds(I'm being nice) before unlocking the door from the front counter. He literally was just listening to my friend(in English) until I hit him with some Urdu like what man??? I asked him if the mango shake/lassi (I'm not sure what he calls it) was made from pulp & he told me the mango shake was made from real mangoes, but you can clearly taste that it's made from mango pulp. the biryani has way too much garam masala and tasted like heartburn, the goatportion was good. the manchurian we got off his recommendation, he said it was the best one and spicy but it came out and I added lemon and mirchi but it was still less than mediocre the chicken tasted like it had been used for the soup before it. bottom line is that I wouldn't go back and there's clearly a reason he hasn't claimed the business. i was impressed with how clean the floors and tables were. Also there's a little function room with cool lights attached to the dining area. hopefully you enjoy your experience here, big menu. minus 1 star for service 1 star for him being a liar & 1 star because the food was not tasteful. read more

The Butter Chicken is the only thing we order from here. Reminds everybody of back home. But always to go. Not a decent place to bring a family to. Beware of the pricing. I ordered a chicken shezwan fried rice for to go. Its just rice no chicken, no veggies & lots of oil. I was charged $10. When i called to say about my order the guy says now what do i tell you. If any complain about dish of Nukkad Dhaba than I don't think they have an Indian taste. Pakistani taste and Indian taste has the differences and they both taste has it's kind, Nukkad Dhaba Biryani, Green Kerma, any breakfast item and Butter chicken are the best. read more

Food is decent but service not so much. Got 4 dishes Togo including soups. Asked for fried noodles which they usually give with soups, cashier guy without checking said "we're out of them" when at the same time I see a waitress in the back coming out with them so He was just lazy to check or didn't want to give them. Also asked if there's extra schezwan sauce in the bag he said yes. Got home & no sauces whatsoever. Service needs to improve or this will also become just a typical desi joint. read more

Great place for Bombay style Chinese and Indian food. It's different from Pakistani flavors (yes there is a huge difference) the butter chicken was out of the world.
