So, I was sent to do a surprise check-in on my colleagues daughter and roommate while I'm in town…read more I can definitely say this is a place for college students or anyone looking for an affordable yet "ok" option to have a roof over their head. This place is not about the details. For example, there's a wad of hair stuck in the paint on the wall in the bathroom the painters saw fit to paint over. Many aspects are outdated, like yellow 70's walltile in the bathroom and the fact that the air conditioning isn't Central air. The mindset here appears to be if it's in decent shape and usable without violation, keep it hence the yellow walltile. All isn't horrible however. This building is clean and everything is working. There are no visible signs of wear and tear although the dated style of cabinets, fixtures, etc. let you know they've been around a spell or two. Managment must hire maintenance workers who take little pride in what they do and operate without worry of meticulous standards being enforced. The apartment, nonetheless, is secure and so is the entry into the building from the security door. The fitness room is nicely kept with modest equipment and the laundry room, although slightly outdated, serves it's purpose and is secure to use at night. Finally, there is a pool for use by tenants. The pics posted are misleading given I saw nothing that warranted a county demolition crew. I'm happy that there must be new ownership who have improved drastically on what can be seen in previous photos. If you're far south and looking for a transition place when you can save some coins in a clean, no frills complex, this is the place for you.

Management Don't Do Shit They're Lazy and Messy As Hell Will Literally Sit & Discuss Your Business…read moreTalking Sh*t To Other Renters Around Not Knowing Everybody Over Here Knows Everybody Definitely Discriminate Their Renters As If They're Higher Than You When 9/10 we make more money than they do working in that dump of an office. You can put in so many work orders they will just mark them completed never call never show to fix anything OH BUT THEY BEG N BEG FOR THEY RENT THOUGH. Buildings To Doors Always broken so anybody can walk in your building as they please they got so many dumb parking rules because they are money hungry. You gotta pay $10 to have your guest come visit and your only allowed 2 parking passes per lease holder so you cant host holiday's this place is a JOKE and the management is a BIGGER JOKE. The new colonies management was BETTER linden park just slapped a new name on the complex but dont do a damn thing.

I lived in Homewood twentysomething years ago, at the time my son was born. We had a sweet white…read moreframe house from the turn of the century. I put flowers in the window boxes. We even had a porch swing. There were big trees all around our property. My mother & my stepfather lived just across town. It felt like Mayberry. The old house still looks much the same, and my mother still lives in her house near Flossmoor. I'm sad to hear that the Homewood Theater was torn down some 16 years ago. I can't imagine why. This sweet idyllic story is about to take a turn, haha: That wasn't me & my George Clooney look-alike former hubby who mooned everyone in line for the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the former Homewood Theater. That wasn't my old high school friend driving the car, laughing herself sick. That wasn't us. My son was just a baby, spending the night at grandma's house, so he never knew. Don't tell him. Or his grandma. But Happy Father's Day to the other half of that *cough* moon show........... the kid turned out well despite how crazy we were. Good times, good times......

Wow first reviewer…read more Homewood is the greatest suburb if you want affordable housing, convenience of shopping, and a school district of national standing. Forbes even featured it recently as one of the top three villages for quality of life in the U.S. midwest. I have been here since 1993, so that's 15 years bucko. I've been all around the Chicago suburbs, and I am pretty sure that as a parent I would have been very dissatisfied with anywhere else. I would have PREFERRED to live in Chicago, but that's not really an option if you've got kids you want to stay out of prison. It's a more black than white neighborhood now, very Baptist/Christian and conservative, but solidly middle class. In the last 15 years I've never had a serious crime problem, though like anywhere if you leave your car unlocked somebody is going to try to rip you off. I did have a car stolen, but in East Hazel Crest, not Homewood. HF High School is college prep quality, and I love the school district. If you are a parent, you can't go wrong here.

First off, I want to commend Miro and his business for the community work and ethics of "giving…read moreback." It's the reason why I chose to move with them. I noticed in his pictures that he participated in relief funds for disasters and repurposes/recycles the junk people want gone. He has a business ethics model with which I can identify. Secondly, but just as important, his prices were fair and his communication was efficient while being courteous. He is responsive and reasonable. No troubles with communication and organizing the move at all. Last and perhaps most important, his guys showed up on time (6 mins early) on the day of the move. Erik and Odell worked well with each other. They were both efficient and careful with our stuff. Erik is hearing impaired and I kept forgetting and sometimes saying things while standing behind him. However, that's my problem and not on him. Odell was personable and Erik is a very sweet person. As movers, excellent but also pleasant human beings. I did notice that Odell is a smoker but it isn't any of my business what he does on his own time. Just mentioning in case anyone else cares. There's an overload of dust and allergens with moving anyway so not a deal breaker for me. Oh! Odell was a godsend with having his tools with him! My hubby had gone to return our U-Box things and Odell took the legs/feet off my elliptical very quickly with great proficiency, with Erik's support, and we got the whole move done within our scheduled time without going over. Thank you, Miro, Odell and Erik!
