They served chips with amazing salsa which was authentic. However, the chips tasted like they were fried in a reused oil because the second chip left a bitter aftertaste! I asked the waitress who I must say, was pleasant and very attentive, what oil they used and it wasn't palm oil, she kept saying it was vegetable oil. So perhaps palm oil? it's cheap and leaves a bitter taste! The burrito was good and a sizable portion, but it too had the stale taste. I ordered the fried ice cream desert, which I thought would be fried ice cream. It was a scoop of ice cream with a cinnamon-sugar dump and in the tortilla bowl that again tasted foul. For 8 bucks you'd think it'd be authentic glad I said I did not want the chocolate sauce or whipped cream. I wish management read this review and do something about the food quality. This is an honest review and not meant to criticize, but highlight the fact that where food is involved restaurants must provide a degree of quality, especially if they claim to be authentic. Y'all make it authentic! It's easy.

Our server was the other, but she was pulled between several tables on our side and a large party in the other dining room. In spite of that, she still managed to serve us well when she was available. The kitchen runner who also functioned as host had his earbuds in, so when trying to let him know about missing items, he simply kept walking, unable to hear us. The food seemed a little off. We had been here before and it just wasn't the same. The kitchen brought the items out at various times, but between the actual plates, the tortillas and the guacamole, at least ten minutes went by. I am not sure we would have gotten it all, had we not asked about it. We had to ask for hot sauce separately, because that is no longer provided on the tables. It arrived when we were basically done eating. It was a disappointing visit.

Had to wait for it to be opened. Food was supposed to be a steak "burrito" and a chicken quesadilla. Picture attached is chicken quesadilla untouched (how it came) and the steak "burrito" came with lose pieces of steak, raw pepper, lots of orange orange cheese and no onions. Nothing else on the hard and cold flour tortillas. Chicken quesadilla cheese so orange and synthetic looking, didn't even try it. Disappointed and will not be back. No where even close to eutheti

I'm not even from Flint but I'll definitely be stopping back every time I'm in the area. Solid spot, highly recommend if you're craving good Mexican. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

Our server checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was much better than I expected. My friend ordered the chicken fajitas, which arrived sizzling with a good balance of meat and vegetables and plenty of flavor. I had the chimichangas. They were two smaller, hand rolled fried shells filled with exceptionally well seasoned ground beef. There was a layer of queso underneath and a little sauce on top, which brought everything together. They were delicious. The beans and rice were standard sides. Not standout items, but not bad either. The chips seemed store bought, and the salsa was fresh but mild with very little heat. Overall, I would definitely go back. The ground beef was excellent, and I'm especially curious to try their tacos since flavorful meat is often where other places fall short. We spent about $20 each with drink.

I asked about virgin margaritas, because I'm not trying to go to jail while borrowing dad's car during my Michigan visit. I was going to order peach, but our server said strawberry was the best. It was lovely. Why only 4 stars? The menu was a bit, well, it needed to be cleaned. It had a residue. That's never fun. The beef is finely chopped, which I like, though it could use a bit more seasoning. The shell lands between medium and hard, with just enough give for a slight chew. Portions are generous and prices are not the cheapest in the area. $60 + tip or two to get three tackles with rice and beans a pop chips and rice and a side of stew beef. The stew beef was incredibly tender, with small chunks of potato. The gravy leaned more toward a thin broth and could have used a little more salt, but the flavor was still comforting. Seating is limited, so expect a short wait during busy times, and the parking lot can be tricky to navigate. Still, it's worth it. Service is always fast and friendly, clearly built for a big lunch crowd. You can see the kitchen staff cooking, which adds a welcoming, family-style feel. There's also a bar area where you can wait for a to-go order. It may be a little off the beaten path, but whenever I'm on that side of town, it's always a stop for me.

Home-style Mexican food!…read more This is good, authentic Mexican food, made with love and infused with a little bit of flair. It's so nice to have good Mexican food at the Flint Farmer's Market. Their chips are homemade and the salsa is awesome. Vegetarian loaded nachos are ridiculously good, made to order, with super fresh ingredients. Whichever veggies you want on your nachos, you'll get and whichever ones you don't want, they'll leave off for you. The tortilla chips are a bit greasy, but not overly so. It's not like you'll double over in GI distress afterwards! Besides, I like my chips a little oily, with just the right amount of salt. These aren't of the dry and flat ilk, but have a little zest to them instead. They also sell my husband's favorite line of seltzer water, which he can't find anywhere else around town, so that's a big plus in my book. He's always going on about that specific type of seltzer water, so even if I'm not stopping in for food, I still need to grab some of that seltzer water just to appease him. The price is right, too, with two people easily dining together for just $10. There's also a small line of grocery items, featuring rices, seasonings, spices, tortilla chips, salsa, and more available as well, with decent prices on most everything.
