I have been coming to Nu-Way for years. It seems anytime I find myself passing through Macon, Georgia I find myself stopping for a hot dog or two (or three). Nu-Way has been around since 1915 and enjoying their hot dogs "all the way", or is easy to see why. There is nothing fancy about Nu-Way or their burgers and hot dogs, but the taste, oh yes. Plus, you can't beat the price. A hot dog "all the way" is $2.09. They also have combo meals. There are several locations around the Macon area, so you won't be far from one. Was here yesterday had the monday special 3 chili dogs and big ass ice tea with fries. Went drive Thru way wasnt long ? The lady tells me price i pay its around 1135am wanted to holla at the server at window and give her my number.But had to wait up on waiting area.When young girl gave us our food. I went home had my chiwahau dog with me so i open up give Roscoe my dog one he loved it i ate one and we split the third one and the fries which was mmm good. Roscoe dont like sweet tea but i do lol. In the event you return for the missing items you could find yourself confronted with a dozen staff screaming to "get your white a$$ out of here" and FEMALE managers screaming "suck my d**k", other employees shouting, "you aint getting no hot dogs" when pressing them to complete the order purchased. Corporate sent me $10 in nuway bucks for my trouble, and apparently dropped the issue. The issue is far from dropped. Racism is alive and well in the nu-way, if you're a white customer. read more

This place is legendary in Macon (so I am told). I really did think the chili dogs were awesome. You order your chili-dog as a "hot dog all the way" and the chili you get is actually what I call a meat-sauce . .no beans and no tomatoes (or so little I couldn't notice). I love hotdogs and hotdog places and this place falls just a little short of epic . .in my opinion. I can't point you to a better place in Macon but if you're ever in Huntington Beach then I think the PCH dog from Pacific Coast Hotdogs is a better dog. A Macon landmark! You can't go wrong with a Nu-Way Weiner, but don't forget that you are asking for a pink hotdog on a semi-stale bun with mustard and chili spread along the top. There is nothing special about the dog, but it is oh so good. Check out the Chili Burger also! My mama's order is 1 Dog all the way and 1 Burger all the way with a side of fries and a large sweet tea! You'll go into a food coma, but the splurge every once in a while is worth it. A fairly simple menu for a fairly simple concept. I had a chili slaw dog all the way with onion rings, which was plenty to fill me up. The chili/meat sauce had good flavor -- so much that I would skip the cheese next time since I couldn't taste it over the meat sauce. The service was fast, friendly, and it felt good being a part of nearly a hundred year old establishment. On the downside, the onion rings were disappointing; I expected them to be home-made in a place like this. My husband says they used to be like "back in the day." Also, don't bother with the apple fritter. It didn't taste like much. I don't get to Macon, GA often, but I do want to go back and give this place another try the next time I'm in town. read more

Nothing quite as American as a hotdog. This isn't the first Nu-way I have been to but the first I have rated. Was going through Macon on a morning motorcycle ride and had to stop here for coffee and a dog. They were doing breakfast though, and while the friendly waitress said she could do a lunch item for me, I decided on breakfast instead. Had the scrambled egg and spicy sausage on toast with a side of tater rounds. Cooked up,fresh and hot, it was very tasty and filling. Plus the young lady ensured I had creamer and other condiments. I am in utter disbelief as to what happened to me today as I visited your establishment at 3990 Northside Drive in Macon, GA 31210. At 3:20 P.M. I placed an order Id: AC2PXJ58AGDZ for 2 Hot Dogs ATW, 1 Small French Fries, and 1 SM Half & Half Tea. To my surprise, my fries were cold and the hot dogs were not prepared to order. After sampling the fries while still at the window, I requested a hot order of fries and was told that I would have to pay additional money in order to receive what should have been normal practice. Who wants to eat cold fries? Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I could live with the chili dogs not being all the way, but I paid $1.99 for French fries that I couldn't eat. I hope this will not happen to anyone else. I am not sharing the Employee's name because she was not responsible for the decision to make me repay for what I should have received the first time. I am one the lucky ones that know about the Red Hotdog Stand aka Nu-Ways. I was born and raised in Macon, Ga. When ever the mood strikes there is only Nuways can do it for me. Three Chili dogs all the way and a fry, If that does not get you right nothing will. That order has seen me through breaks ups to make up's. Kids to teenagers. And Like Andy P. said this place is EPIC. The people are what really makes it the place because no matter what branch you are in the have a down home welcoming feel there. If you pass out and wake up hearing slaw dogs and Mega Burgers you can bet your bottom dollar your in Macon, Ga. I have travelled all of the world and I know its cliché but I had to go to Nu-ways when ever I was home on leave. I really love this place and I wanted to tell everyone about it. read more

Not really a very good place, the burgers are extremely greasy. And the hotdogs everyone goes crazy over are just your basic cheap red hotdogs with a very greasy canned chili. I've had way better chili-dogs at several different places. I live in Macon and I've never understood everyone's fascination with this place. Good breakfast though. If you want a good chili-dog, head to the Pool Room in Cordele. For a good burger I'd suggest any fast food restaurant, as compared to Nu-Way's. read more
