Love love love this store! I've been going here for years. Great friendly customer service. Lots of hair options to choose from as well as beauty products and accessories. If you're in the Hayward area, definitely support this business. The family that owns it, is very kind and helpful. read more

I usually go to Lynn's in Hayward, but wanted to try something new. They were beyond welcoming and helped me find what I was looking for. But it was a challenge navigating the aisles. I love going to the beauty supply and taking my time to shop, but unfortunately I could not do that in here. read more

Always has what you need but don't try to get it yourself. Very tight space. Thankfully the staff will grab whatever you want.

Nu Hair is a bomb ready to explode. The beauty supply is dirty and has packages of hair on the floor and tables. Nothing was organized

This place has been here for years and I just started getting my hair here about a year ago when my hair dresser stopped selling my hair. They have an overwhelming amount of options but always have everything I need. Inflation has impact the hair world so much that my freetress crochet hair used to be 3.99 it is now 7.99. Yikes! I still need it. The family that owns the places is nice and helps you find what you need. I applaud the lady for knowing exactly where everything is and how much she has left. read more

Shawn was so awesome and they have a lot of inventory! This location is a must, it's like going to LA shopping inside the beauty warehouse. It's so much more hair than what's in this picture. This place is EVERYTHING! They will assist you with any inquiry you have and assist you with your search. They made me feel so comfortable. They have lashes and many items on sale. EVERYONE WAS VERY FRIENDLY including Mike at the register. I will always come to this location when shopping for my hair care needs. read more

BE WARNED IF YOU USE YOUR CARD! watch the amount they put in to card reader!!! they already over charge as is, but they will Give you an Amount and charge your card a higher amount . I usually don't care to leave reviews but I'm really irritated because how many people have they got away with telling you one price then charging your car a higher amount? I went in to grab a few items and it was nothing is organized very small but I can get passed that ... it was when I went I check out he told me my total was 75.23 I have him $40 cash and asked to do the rest on car all cool with $1.50 card charge post people have it. he proceeded to put the remaining balance on the card reader and was hiding it and only gave it back when the screen didn't show amount so I already noticed the red flags doesn't give me the receipt and refused to give it to me so I check my card to see what was charged and he charged me $45.23. I asked him how did we get this price if I gave you $40 cash? instantly gave me $10 cash but still wouldn't gove me a receipt and I needed that for my business so after 15s asking nothing but "can I have my receipt" repeatedly, I seen the receipt on the counter and I grabbed it myself..... be warned read more

Love this place. I do my own hair and this is where I go for all my supplies. What I recommend is that when you get there let them know just what you're looking for and they will get it for you. It will save you so much time and the aisles are really narrow. Sometimes things fall! But if you just tell them what you're looking for they will find it for you quickly. read more

I needed to buy braiding hair ASAP and I found this place located near my job. I was really surprised on the large amount of hair inventory. I'm planning to return when i have time to really see what they had to offer. Good customer service. Answered all my questions. read more

They need to get the storm more organized. You can't even walk down the aisles. I cannot shop in messy stores. I think they're kind of pricing, but I don't shop for this type of stuff all the time and I have my regular place. I go to. read more

I have been coming here for years. I read the reviews and still ventured in. It is messy but it's their organized mess and they KNOW where everything is at. They have such a large variety of braiding hair. That's mainly what I go there for. And it is conveniently located in Hayward off of mission. Before I found Nu-Hair I was going to Oakland. Try them out. They have just about anything you need for your new do. read more

The previous Yelper wasn't lying. HAIR IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. ZOMG. Synthetic hair, human hair, hair on a track, clip ins, enclosures, wigs, yellow extensions, blue extensions, braiding hair, Rasta-Afri hair, curly hair, straight hair, kanekalon hair, kinky curly hair....you name it they've got it. The problem? This place is cluttered like a hoarder's house!!!!!! I almost lost my mind walking in there. I reached for a package and a kanekalon braid fell on my dome, er, head. I took pics because the state of this joint is unreal. I asked for help and got it. The Rasta-Afri hair I needed for my Senegalese twists was $2.99/per bag. They had color #3 which was amazing! My hair isn't quite a #2 and #4 is too reddish/light, so I've always had to choose between the two or get both and have my braider mix them in. If you need African-AMerican beauty supply products, this is the place. read more

I was pretty set in what I wanted. I wanted jet black 18-20" extensions. The problem was which brand to get. I went to Sally's next door and they ran about $120-$140 for a set. I went right next door, Nu Hair, to this Chinese hair store. Lots and lots hair from ceiling to floor and stacked on boxes in between the aisles. I looked around and was overwhelmed but how much different kinds of hair there was. I just walked up to the register and the nice lady helped me out and made a perfect recommendation. I said I want good quality, clip-in hair extensions in very dark jet black. I got exactly that. She recommended the Secret Sepia brand in 18" and it came out to 99.99 bucks before taxes. The other lady said, "You like cah (She was trying to say car)? This like Mercedes Benz." Lol I was sold when I felt it. Fairly priced considering really fancy ones can go for up to $200+. But I am a newbie and am more than pleased with my first set. They are beautiful and soft and I AM in LOOOOVE with my new extensions. I think I am newly obsessed with hair extensions now. I WANT MORE! And lucky me this place isn't far from home. read more

Nice mom & pop beauty supply store. Smaller in size but has everything you could possibly need. More then the typical beauty supply store. From nyx makeup to hair dye.. it's right next to Sally's & you can't beat Nu-Hairs prices. Def will be back! They also have some really nice mink lashes. read more

This place has a lot of selections for hair but the colors are all natural. The staff is very helpful. The store was not very organized so it was a bit hard to actually see what all they do have. You just have to know what type of hair or style so they can show you some selections. I end up get soft Locs crotchet black and burgundy about 6 packs which has 20 locs in each pack. I only used 4.5 packs for a very full head. The 6 packs was about 71 bucks. 11.99 for 24 inches. read more

The owners are extremely rude. They over charge as well. The store has lot of stuff but impossible to find anything. The owners have to help you with it. They don't have any place where one can try on stuff ie no mirror. The prices are 2x of other places or online. read more

The nice lady at the register got me exact tint I wanted to buy. The shop is packed with high-quality products and I'd like to spend an hour looking at everything. This is in a small (strip) shopping center so you won't see the address for Nu-hair. It's tucked into a corner. The private lot has plenty of parking. Sally's Beauty is a few doors down. I went there to see if they had a bigger selection for tints. They DO carry additional brands, at Sally's. But the clerk at Sally's told me customers come in all the time requesting the brand I got at Nu-Hair. Sally's doesn't sell that brand, but apparently, Nu-Hair carries good quality products. So nice people, great selection and good prices make this a YES! read more

Nu-Hair offers a variety of hair options and their prices are fair, however, this store is packed to capacity with weave and various other products. It's impossible to move around in this store and make a coherent decision without feeling overwhelmed. Nu-Hair - One of many crowded aisles in the store - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Hayward, California

This store is geared more towards hair extensions, there were very minimal hair supplies. So if youre looking for shampoo, hair dye, hair gel etc. Dont waste your time coming here. As soon as i walked in the door I was greeted by a lady, who simply inquired "What are you looking for" good thing she did because I never would've found it in my own. The store has a few aisles jammed packed with hair extensions, and the aisles are so tight I felt trapped. Some items were over priced but still cheaper than others in the area. read more

This place came in super clutch when I was in a pinch but their prices are pretty high and the store isn't exactly beginner friendly. With that said, the staff is always incredibly helpful & they always have lots of inventory. read more

Although my OCD went into overdrive. Stuff every where. They had what i needed. Be prepared for madness in the aisles.

I've been here a few more times and each time the couple that runs this place is so nice and polite. This time I needed different hair than I usually get so I didn't know where to look, but the wife knew exactly where it was and helped me find all the packs I needed. read more

I go here because I can't find many beauty supplies near the Fremont area. Plus this place is so jam packed and hard to get through. But they have hair and supplies. read more

They have most the brands and things you would look for at a beauty supply but the prices are upcharged. For example the la girl concealer is 3.99! That's the highest I've ever seen it. I mentioned it cheaper elsewhere he didn't care. So please take that back. They can keep it for that price. Eyelashes are a dollar more than most beauty supplies. I didn't feel like finding other locations where they are at most 1.99 for the lashes in the white box (cherry blossom brand) they charge $2 and something for a set. My biggest upset was the tax here. He told me tax was $3 and some change. Are you kidding me. $3 on a 38 dollar purchase?! So what 10 percent of my total. Is this normal? Not wanting to create hassle I just paid for the stuff I wanted to keep and left. I won't be visiting this location again. What kind of circus they are running but it's expensive. This is a beauty supply. A place where prices should be fair or discounted right? Think I'll be setting my account up with Sally's again. read more

This place is a hot mess there is no organization whatsoever and they will say and do anything to get you to spend your money the lighting is very bad. honestly looks like a hoarders house. don't come here if looking for an ACTUAL hair product, they don't have any. they overcharge EVERYTHING, lol i literally paid 25 dollars for a $15 product. if i wasn't under a time constraint i would've went to another store. giving an extra star because the workers weren't bad, but didn't welcome me into the store or show any enthusiasm like they do at other hair stores.... read more

HAIR.... Everywhere! They got the best lashes in town! & to top it off they get good accessories too!

I first found out about this store when I moved to Castro Valley and was tired of commuting all the way to San Francisco Fillmore Beauty Supply to get hair. This place is located in a nice decent plaza, near Sally's Beauty Supply and Rent-A Center. Parking is never bad when I come, I usually get a park right in front of the store. This place is owned by Chinese and at first when I came I used to stay giving them attitude because as soon as you walk in they stare at you and watch your EVERY move! Ugh that BOTHERED me! WTF excuse me sir I just came to see what your store has to offer I don't want to steal from you so don't trip! After a while of coming here they started to ease up a little. I was desperate to find a good person to do my hair and the owner here was nice to give me a salon close by my house and recommended her to me. I have to admit she is amazing and I have been going to her every since. I have to admit with other yelpers and say don't be surprised walking in here because YES! Hair is everywhere!! Its cluttered but I like it because it gives me a lot of choices to choose from. I have noticed that their hair is expensive from most stores and online. I usually come here and find some hair that I want and then do research and buy it online. I ONLY buy hair here if its VERY needed. If not I go online and can get it $40-$80 cheaper. Not only do they sell hair but they also sale nice earrings as well! This is by far the BEST beauty supply that I have seen in the city of Hayward. read more

There's literally hair everywhere. I went with my cousin to buy her hair extensions while I waited. The owners are pretty nice and we had a good conversation. They were pretty funny and making jokes even though I wasn't their exact customer demographic haha. They also helped out my cousin choose what fits on her hair. I don't know much stuff about these hair extensions and beauty stuff but from a customer's perspective they were really helpful. We went a 2nd time a few weeks later and to my surprise they even remembered us which is good. They have so much stuff that its all over the place but if you need anything just ask them. According to my cousin their prices were unbeatable which is why she keeps returning here and tagging me along. Jeez! :) read more

I live in San Francisco, Ca and was in route to Belmont, Ca to get my hair done so I decided to ride along San Mateo Bridge for some hair. I hear that hair is cheaper over in the East Bay and this was so true. I stumbled across this hole in the wall and it was hair EVERYWHERE and I loved it. It was so much to choose from, and the prices were reasonable. I bought so much hair I needed two bags. I will be back, and the ride was definitely worth it!! read more

This place is too pack rattish. They literally follow you around the store like you're gonna steal. Don't want you touching the product that is NOT BEHIND THE COUNTER. They rather pick your items up for you. It's just overall uncomfortable, very filthy, pact rattish in the store. All that merchandise and no deals to get rid of it. Especially all that synthetic hair. lol drop them prices so you guys can get that off your hands and floors of your place of business. Not a lot of choices as for human hair..... quality of human hair is so poor and bundles are extremely thin. Any black owned beauty salons near by??? That actually knows how to sale bundles and properly match you grade of hair to the bundles. Asking for a friend..... read more

I love this place. The quality of hair and the range of prices are great. You can get really good quality hair that you can dye and put heat on for a reasonable price compared to other places.
