My husband been going to Tom for his haircut needs for years now. He finally got me to try out the business and i have no regret. My husband told me to have my cut with Thuy. She is so sweet. She cut my hair with long layer and it came out great. I have neglected my hair because you know..life happens. I asked her if she can do my roots and she told me to comeback on Monday which I did. my hair got absolutely ruined when I asked for a zero fade on the side and 2 inches off the top. Now my hair is way too short and not the way I intended it to be. Person who cut my hair pressured me to "look up a picture" to supposedly "get inspiration" when all I wanted was the zero fade and few inches off the top. My son and I went here for the first time ever as we needed to get a hair cut. My son got his done first while I waited for my turn. There was another lady cutting hair and when she was done with the customer, she went ahead and cut my hair. They were pretty quick with cutting our hair, we both got our hair styled and we love the results!!! Even though we were not charged the $12 posted outside their window for a haircut, our total costs (w/tips) was still a lot more economical than we have been charged at other hair salons. They do charge an extra $1 for credit card payments. I highly recommend this place. Also, they have plenty of parking as they share a lot with other stores. Love this place. Been a loyal customer since 2018z For $12 (before tip), this place blows the competition in the nearby area. Customer Service is top tier -- The people here are really nice and always greet me when I come. They have taken the time to get to know me and ask about my life and work. There is always that stereotype that Vietnamese establishments speak poorly about patrons but they didn't know I was Vietnamese until a year in. I've never heard them speak unkindly about customers. They give a mean fade but I'd recommend low fade -- Their mid fade seems a bit high depending on who you sit with. All of them cut very well but be sure to emphasize what you want. Don't say, "Just a fade" without emphasizing how high you want to go up or a bald / zero fade. Etc. They listen and try their best (accurately) to cut based off of your specifications. It looked like one gentleman was the go-to for the kids, so another (male) barber asked if I wanted to wait for him and I said it didn't matter since I don't know who was who. For $8, I wasn't expecting much, but I also didn't want them to butcher my two-year-old's hair. My kid is a seasoned client so he was very cooperative and sat there the whole time. The gentleman complimented him on how well he did. I was a little bummed that there was no kids' car-seat since I saw it on a photo on Yelp, but that's ok. The end result was impressive and the barber took his time. I was appreciative of how patient he was with my son. Sorry, I didn't catch his name, but I'll definitely go back to save money and time. Not sure of the guys name who helped me but it was an older asian gentleman who doesn't speak english. He was about to start cutting me and didn't even disinfect any of his equipment ( he had just cut someone else's hair). I told him if he could disinfect and pointed and his spray, he had no clue what i was talking about and moved his phone that was playing music thinking I was complaining about that. I can tell he never disinfects his stuff because his spray is tucked in the back of all his stuff. The haircut was horrible, messed up my sides and left two bald spots. Didn't line up my sides like how i asked him two. He just shaved me like if i was in the military and went super rough when i asked him to be careful with my fresh pierced ears. He didn't even bother putting alcohol after finishing the haircut. Didn't even wipe off the excess hair, he just finished the cut and immediately took me to charge me. I used to always get my eyebrows threaded in Los Angeles. We all know how hard it is to find someone who you can trust with your eyebrows. I tried a spot down Mission, but they did a bang-up rush job without the comforting, friendly atmosphere. Sure they charge $5-$8, but you really get what you pay for. It took me a while to grow out my eyebrows to get them fairly even. Luckily for me, I found New Upper Cuts. Tucked away in the barbershop is a little gem to the Hayward area. Kim is really friendly, she knows what she is doing and she always leaves my eyebrows looking so much better than when I walked in! As an actor, I am constantly in front of a camera or on stage, so it's imperative I find someone I can trust with my appearance. Thank god for Kim, she keeps my eyebrows on point before every photoshoot. The barbershop itself is really friendly. On their busy days they work diligently and always greet their customers with a "sir" or "ma'am". I find their charming personality the reason I keep coming back.
