Needed my bridesmaid dress altered pretty significantly because the bust area needed to be tightened and the length shortened. I was nervous about taking it somewhere because the back of the dress looked a little more complex, but she did an amazing job in just a week. There were no loose seams or signs that it had been altered at all and fit wonderfully on the day of the wedding. It was all done for under $100, which is a great value for all of the alterations I requested. Highly recommend! A little tip: I'm pretty sure it's cash only, or at least cash is strongly preferred. read more

I've used NT Alterations several times over the years, and while most of the work was decent, my recent experience left me disappointed. I brought in a pair of shorts to have the bottoms shortened with a new folded hem. When I picked them up, I noticed a large knot on the front that couldn't be removed. Later at home, I found a 2" section on the back where the fabric was folded under the hem, which looked like a mistake. Neither of these issues was mentioned to me upfront by the owner. Additionally, I've found the customer service and tone from the owner over time to be less than friendly sometimes, which made this experience even more frustrating. If I had known about these issues beforehand, I wouldn't have spent $25 on the alterations. Overall, I expected better communication and quality, so I don't plan to return. read more

I've been going to NT's Alterations for 7 years now, and she's been part of every stage of my life. I first came to her as a kid fresh out of high school, just trying to get my pants fixed. Since then, she's tailored everything from my favorite everyday pieces to now, my wedding suit and even my fiancée's wedding dress. Every item I've ever dropped off has come back fitting perfectly like it was made just for me. NT is incredibly skilled, but what sets her apart is her heart. She's one of the kindest, most hardworking people I've ever met, and her success is so well-deserved. NT is simply the best at her craft and someone you can truly trust. read more

N T Alteration is the place to go if you need quick, good quality, and reasonably priced alterations My daughter had a bridesmaid dress that she needed to have altered. We visited N T and the process to measure and prep for the work was simple. We were in and out within minutes. But the most surprising thing was the value in their work. The dress shop that we purchased the dress from wanted over $100 to do the alterations. When N T told me that cost would be $38 and ready in a week...I was shocked. When we picked up the dress the next week, it was PERFECT and exactly what we wanted. After that I came back a week later with my suit pants that I needed altered. Again, within minutes, I was measured and on my way. Ready in 4 days! The shop is very small. Most of the time we go there, it is the same lady work. They also offer dry cleaning, which we have never used. Every community needs a good alterations shop! Mira Mesa is set! read more

The woman who runs the shop is nice and sweet. She altered my wedding dress and she did an amazing job I come to her with all my alteration problems. Her prices are reasonable too. My alteration for my wedding dress was only $250 to put sleeves in and alter to fit my body more. read more

excellent work and very helpful and friendly. I will definitely use again. Also fast turnaround.

To the owners, I wanted to express my gratitude and offer an apology for today's visit. I came to your store hoping to get some alterations done but realized I had not planned properly. With most places now operating cashless, I had forgotten that some businesses still operate on a cash-only basis. Unfortunately, I didn't have cash on hand, as I usually rely on digital payment methods like credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. I left to withdraw cash from the bank but was unable to do so because I didn't have my ATM card or driver's license with me, making it impossible for the bank to verify my identity. This situation made me realize how important it is to keep these items on hand! I'll need to visit the DMV to get my ID sorted before i can go to the bank and get an atm card and then get cash so that I can return to complete the alterations I had in mind. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused and for taking up your time today. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope to return soon to finalize the alterations. read more

I've had several items altered here. My only issue is there isn't a price list. I understand that price can vary but at least there's a starting point. I paid $15 for simple hem on men's slim fit slacks. I guess it's not bad but similar item previously was $10. Typical timeframe is a week and additional cost for quick turn around. I lucked out! I checked to see if the slacks were done on Wed when originally told it would be done on Sat. I'm sure they're other places that do good work for better price but I came because it's close to home. I may consider going elsewhere in the future. read more

Date of most recent visit: April 7, 2021 My future stepfather-in-law had gifted me a couple of pairs of pants that were too small for him but a bit too large for me, so when I was searching of a place that did alterations in my neighborhood, NT's Alteration kept showing up on my feed. As they had quite a few positive reviews, I owed it to myself to check it out. Not only did the shop owner do a great job measuring my pants, she got them hemmed rather quickly! (I'd dropped them off that past Thursday; they were ready by the following Tuesday. I wasn't able to pick them up until the next day.) And the quality of the work is superb, with the prices being very affordable ($20 total for both pairs)! It's cash only, so keep that in mind. That being said, I'm planning to bring the cargo pants I wear as part of my WWII Captain America cosplay to get taken in. Gotta support my local businesses! read more

Small business. Quality work on the tailoring of a new suit. Work done at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them.

This place was highly recommended and I can certainly understand why. The owner is very kind and hard working. The quality of her work is praiseworthy. Pricing is reasonable and she will do her very best to complete on your timeline. read more

I was looking for a place that could tailor my pants pretty quickly because I was going on a trip shortly after I purchased my pants. It was close by to me and I asked if it was able to be done in 2 days and the lady did not have a problem with it! It was about $10 more for an expedited turnaround but that was no problem for me since I literally only gave her 2 days for it. The usual turnaround time is 1 week she said. The total for that was $22, which was the normal price for other shops when I called around given the circumstances. CASH ONLY!! So be prepared. You can pay before at drop off or at pick-up. read more

My coworker recommended this place as a tailor. I needed to alter a bridesmaid dress that was too large on me. They did a great job with the alteration and the turnaround was very fast. I paid more than I wanted to, but I don't go to a tailor often so it's hard for me to gauge what an appropriate price would be. Tip: they take cash only but you can pay at the time of pickup read more

The lady that works here is super sweet, does a great job and understands your objectives on how you'd like your alterations to be completed. Even though I've moved out of Mira Mesa, I still trek back here from Escondido to drop off my alterations. Everything from cocktail dresses, bridesmaid dresses, to new jeans that always need shortening and sometimes tapering. She has several changing booths so you can try on the item being altered for her to pin. NOTE: Make sure you bring cash with you when you drop off the work. Cash only accepted & must be prepaid. read more

NT did it again! She helped me transform my "blah" floor length bridesmaid dress into a fun cocktail dress, and I LOVE it! It cost $80, cash only to hem all three layers. Worth every cent, especially since I can trust she'll do a good job, in a timely manner for my event Thanks NT! read more

Always do a great job and turn around is very fast. I can't recommend this place enough. The seamstress is very very skilled.

I went looking for a seamstress and was so happy that another business suggested I go to NT's Alterations. I went and after 3 places turned me down to add a zipper to a jean tote, she said no problem and did a GREAT JOB!!! She asked that I pay with cash so I'm not sure what other payment she accepts. read more

Found this on yelp and saw a lot of good reviews so gave them a shot. I had a bridesmaid dress that needed alteration in less than 4 days. Dropped it off on Wednesday around 11:30am and was estimated a pick up time for Saturday. But she surprised me and getting it done on the same day. I picked it up at 4pm!! And wow she did such a good job! The price was reasonable for the rush item and the quality of the job. Totally worth coming here if you need some alterations done. read more

I rarely need tailoring services, but I needed a the sleeves shortened on my new jacket and had good luck with NT's in the past (I went here several years ago thanks to the positive feedback on Yelp). She's very efficient - pinning the sleeves to the correct place, assessing the fabric, and getting me a quote in less than 5 minutes. I was in no hurry, so was fine with picking it up in 6 days. I felt the price was very reasonable for what seemed to me like a relatively complicated fabric and cut. When I went pick it up, she had it ready and waiting and it looks perfect to me - virtually indistinguishable from the factory. She wore a mask and there wasn't anyone else in the store. I'll definitely return with future work. It certainly seems like no job is too small or too large, and the pricing is better than I remember seeing from other SD shops. read more

The lady that runs this place is so kind and skilled at what she does. I needed to tailor my prom dress and she was very helpful in achieving my vision and the price was very reasonable. Needed mens jacket sleeves shortened. Good job, reasonable price. Friendly service.

Took my bridesmaid dress here for a hem adjustment and let out (damned back boobs *eye roll) . She is very pleasant and easy to work with. Dress was finished within a week and fit perfectly! Only qualms: She only accepts cash and I actually paid more for the alterations than the dress ($120). read more

Make sure to bring cash! They did not say anything about this when I was there to drop off my garment and stared at me blankly when I pulled a card out. They are not very warm or welcoming. They have no way of using cards at all which I found to be inconvenient. They will send you to another store in the strip mall with an ATM. The work was fine but seemed expensive. I had a skirt hemmed and it was $38 plus an expedited work fee which was $10. I didn't mind paying extra for a faster turn around but $48 or even $38 seemed high for what I was getting. If you have time to shop prices and explore your options, I would do that before settling here for decent work but high prices, poor customer service, and cash only payment. read more

Found this place via Yelp a few months back and it has since become my go-to for alterations and I cannot recommend them enough! Very much a no frills type of business but they have done an incredible job with all the different pieces I've brought in. My first time here, I bought in a chiffon sundress that was a bit too big for me... another alterations shop turned me away because they said it's too difficult to work with the fabirc/structure of the dress. The lady at NT Alternations worked her magic and had this dress fitting me perfectly in no time at all. I was soooo so happy with the results -- I wish I had before and after photos to post. FYI it's cash only! Prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of work. Typically I've experienced ~1 week turnaround when I bring anything in here but I've heard other customers ask for expedited turnaround for an additional fee. read more

Needed several pairs of slacks cropped and tailored; NT did a great job at making sure they were the length and fit I wanted. I went back a few days later to pick them up for a very reasonable price and was more than satisfied with the quality of her services. A few months later, the stitching on two pairs of slacks had started to tear after some rowdy nights out and some heavy washing cycles. I took them in expecting to pick them up a couple days later and NT fixed the stitching for both pairs right on the spot! Would highly recommend her services. read more

It can be a daunting task trying to find a tailor that will take care of your needs. After my go-to retired from Nordstrom a few years back, I bounced around to a few different places and NT's is my new go-to. She's a very kind and knowledgeable individual and an expert at her craft. I can't recommend this location enough. One thing that has seemed to be touched on already is that this is a cash only location. I've taken everything from expensive nba jerseys, lululemon pants, dress shirts, slacks, you name it and she has done a perfect job on everything I've taken to her and usually with just a week turnaround time. read more
