Ann did a repair we didn't think could be fixed. After she was finished we couldn't even see the damage. It was like it never happened. We have been going here for over 25 years and are always happy with our experience here. Extra highly recommend!!! read more

I come here regularly, but this is my last time. They made a mistake in the length of the hem and refuse to fix it unless I made another full payment. read more

My Girlfriend and I went to pickup clothes Saturday however, the door was locked at 3:30pm. Unfortunately I now have to wait another 2 days for my clothes and missed out on wearing these clothes for Easter. I'm not asking them to be open on Easter, just better on updating either their hours of operation or closing & locking up according to their actual closing times. read more

Always their savior of all my clothes that I have to throw away and I bring it over here. They do little work on it and make it usable again so I can continue using these expensive clothes that I buy always I'm grateful to know this place read more

Great place for adjustments and hems. Nearby the office and convenient. The owners are very sweet

The prices on their website are inaccurate. Rude, worst customer service, zero greeting, and unfriendly. Go elsewhere. Zero stars. Went to Sew Elegant and it was a world of difference. Friendly, professional, clean, and extremely fair/honest pricing. read more

Very rude and and not great work. Bad overall experience. The gentleman there was behaving as if he could barely tolerate a customer. I would never go there again ! read more

I brought my brand new white pants here to get hemmed and when I picked them up they were brown stains on them. When I called them and let them know all they said was I can try taking the stain out with a toothbrush and that they didn't see the stain... these were expensive pants and I'm extremely disappointed read more

I think this place is good if you are looking for affordable tailoring. I like that the prices are reasonable and transparent -- the service prices are listed on the website (the decals on the window are outdated) and so you can hold them accountable to not inflate the price, unlike other tailors that may upcharge you for no reason. Taking off two stars because: 1. They told me my item would be ready on Thursday. I came on Friday and they hadn't even started my item yet. And then when I came to pick it up on the weekend, there was no discount or anything for the inconvenience. So if you need something by a specific date, you may want to be careful to give them extra time. 2. You could see little dots from the outside on my hemmed shorts, which I've never seen before. It was just for a Halloween costume though, so I didn't super mind. read more

I'm Vietnamese and called in speaking English and immediately they sounded annoyed. Tried explaining what my jacket was and was met with rude and they ended up saying we don't do tailoring only alterations. Ok? It takes me 1 mintue to write a bad review and 10 seconds for you to lie and be rude over the phone. If you speak english be prepared for a unpleasant experience Do not come here. read more

I brought my wedding dress to Ann 3 weeks before my wedding. It needed a decent amount of work done, literally from the top to the bottom of the dress. Ann gave me a fantastic price and had the dress done on time in 2 weeks. The dress fits beautifully now and I'm really happy with the work they did!! read more

I'm so sad to write this negative review. After being a loyal customer and referring many people here for a better part of 20+ years, I might have to find a new place for my dry cleaning and alteration services. I paid $45 to have this dress hemmed and steamed. I asked them to dry clean it originally but the gentleman said no for some reason and said that he will just steam it. I picked my dress up today and although the hem is well done, the dress was so wrinkled. I feel ripped off and the language barrier did not help. I feel like he didn't care that I left disappointed and that made me very sad because I really liked their work. read more

I brought some pants to be hemmed and they did an amazing job! Not only that but the prices were very reasonable. There are fitting rooms to try on clothes as well as an array of shoes you can try on to make sure the length is how you want it. The owners are very nice and the shop is organized and clean. They only accept cash and you can pay when you pick up your alterations. I will definitely be coming back! read more

For the price point I give this place 5/5. They are VERY busy so there's usually a wait. I've only had simple pant hemming done here but it was as expected and only $8! But there I've seen their other customers with dresses and suits. Turn around time is about a week. read more

Perfect quick Alteration service and very nice people running it. Went above and beyond

**THIS REVIEW IS FOR A WEDDING DRESS ALTERATION! Now that my wedding is over I can post photos and a review. I bought wedding dress and I asked around for an alterations place for a wedding dress. Several people had recommended Ann's, and I checked Yelp prior to bringing my dress in. It looks like she had experience fixing a dress so I brought it in. Ann is a nice lady. All my dress needed was to adjust the length, and straps of the dress. During the alterations, it definitely seemed like she knew what she was doing and she did alterations in a timely manner. At the time I picked up my dress, I tried it on and it was NOT okay. Length was fine, but the straps.. was not okay. I told Ann that the straps were way too tight, and the cups that she added was too big as well. If I put my arms down, the strap scrunches forward and it gets wrinkly. I kept pointing that out to Ann and she tells me, "your arms are going to be down, no one will notice." Excuse me..? It's a wedding dress and there will be photos taken! Absolutely not okay. She was offering some suggestions and I told her I didn't like it and she kept pushing her suggestion. Eventually she said she can try another way and I said fine, we can give it a shot. I come back the next week and nope, dress was not fixed, still too tight and straps still bunched. I decided to call it a loss and take my dress elsewhere. Thankfully a friend of mine sent me to her seamstress and she made it fit beautifully and how it was supposed to be! And the other seamstress did agree with me that the straps were way way too tight. So thanks Ann for not cutting the fabric at least read more

I've been coming here for literally decades, before Yelp was born and have neglected reviewing until now! I first came to Ann's when there was a formal dress store in the UTC mall that referred their customers there for alterations. They were wizards at taking a dress that was many sizes too big and altering it to a custom fit with just a few pins here and there to guide the seamstresses that work there. It's always amazed me how that works so perfectly every time. Over the years if I lose weight, I bring my larger "favorite pants" there that are now too big, and Ann's makes them fit like a glove, again with just a pin or two here and there. I refer Ann's to everyone I know, for all their alteration needs, and people are always satisfied and thank me. I drive from North County because other tailors haven't been able to match up to the results I get from Ann's. They have great prices, too. If Ann's ever closes it will be a sad day for me. read more

I've been going there for years because they are reasonably priced. I mostly have jeans hemmed. They do a nice job and the jeans are ready in a few days for pick up. The people are nice, both Ann and the gentleman who works at the counter. If they continue with their good work and reasonable pricing, they will be in business for a long time...unlike many tailoring businesses I see which are closer to me that have had to close down. read more

I had a last minute alteration for a dress that needed a lot of work. I forgot her name but she did her magic where I only had to tailor the top of dress and she fixed the bottom of my dress so it would drag and still have the mermaid effect I was looking for. I needed it done within 2 days and no problem! Cost was reason! I definitely recommend! read more

Professional and very reasonable price. The alterations on my coat was perfectly done. Very pleased with Ann's expertise! read more

I had some dresses hemmed and repaired. Quick turnaround, great work. Reasonably priced. It's cash only.

I've been coming to this place ever since I was little, and I don't know any other place that I could trust my clothes with. They are very attentive to listen to what you would like altered and their prices are very reasonable. I was able to come in a day early to pick up my things and they worked on it the day of it make sure it would be finished in time! read more

Now that I have been coming here for about 3 years, I finally feel ready to write a review for this place! Together, my husband & I have brought in dresses, suits, wool coats, fluffy cardigans, skirts & sweaters. Ann & her team are fantastic! She has always been reasonable, fair & very patient. First off, can we talk about how great the name is?! Get it? A play off of Ann's Taylor? Nice. PRICING & SERVICES The pricing of her alterations really depends. For a ballpark estimate, check the photos for a list. To give you a general idea, here's what I've been charged: - Resew zipper/repair hole $5-6 - Shorten & take in the sleeves for a slimmer look $40 - Resew jacket pocket on a wool coat $7 - Shortening bridesmaid dress (price ranges, depends on material, layers, etc but likely $20+) - Tighten buttons ~$2?? I forget They have a few small fitting rooms where you can try on your clothes & a little pedestal to step on in front of a mirror. Does the job! I believe they also offer dry cleaning & press military uniforms. TAILORING SKILLZ You guys. I have been to a few alteration shops in the area & even 1 or 2 in the Downtown area. Trust me, Ann & her team are GOOD & her pricing is pretty fair. I have had quite a few positive experiences over the years. Mainly I come here to tailor my suits & she does an incredible job of slimming down skirts & blazers to fit me like a glove. Ann also listens to you & what you want. She has even told me before that stuff looks good on me "as-is" & that I don't need to spend money to tailor it. She's very sweet. That's honesty right there! She won't cheat you or force you to tailor everything you own. She's very genuine & that's what I love about her. Ann will give you her opinion on how you should tailor something if you need advice. Even if you want something done differently than what she suggests, there is no hard feelings & she will gladly do the alteration how you want it. It's obvious she is very experienced & has done it all. Whatever you have hemmed/shortened, you can be sure that it will be even & look great. I've had tiny holes/rips/lining stitching which has loosened in various clothing materials & she (& her team) can stitch it back up as if it was never there/good as new! I had a work dress with a slit that was a little too high & she helped me very tastefully sew up part of it so I could still maintain the skirt's integrity & style but without sacrificing professionalism. She's a true goddess! TURNAROUND TIME For most items, 1 week is pretty standard. Make sure to ask them if you plan to come the day they write on the ticket. It might be ready only after a certain time. You can always (politely) try to request sooner, but I typically try to give them a minimum of 1 week so they can take their time with it & not have to rush. Just common courtesy. I have seen people demanding same day or next day turnaround, & they might be able to accommodate your request, but I would try to give them more time as a rule of thumb. Or be prepared to pay a higher price if ur in a rush. CASH ONLY They do not accept credit cards, so come prepared with cash & smaller bills. The nearby businesses won't give you change. Trust me, I have been desperate enough to even go into the STRIP CLUB next door...no they did not even offer me any wrinkled dollar bills...lol. I prefer to pay when I drop off my alterations & I find that's the easiest. PARKING/LOCATION It is located between an auto shop & a strip club off of the super busy Miramar Road. If you swing by anytime between 3ish to 6ish, there's gonna be A TON of traffic on Miramar so you've been warned! There's usually never a problem with finding parking out front. read more

Walked in with my 2-piece suit, (jacket and pants) and was greeted with a friendly smile. They asked me to put the suit on and stand on top of the stand. The guy (must be Ann's husband) asked what I desired to be altered. Folded the pants and tucked in my jacket so I could visually see what the turnout would look like. Was impressed, so he quickly took my measurements down. - Asked me if I needed it ASAP but said I was not in a rush so he said it would be ready by next week. - Came back and tried on the suit again. Oh boy! It fits perfectly. Exactly how I envisioned it to be. - Prices are great for the quality you get. Now I can show off my custom tailored suit wherever I go! If ever I need something altered again, I'll be sure to drop by again. Thanks guys! read more

BEST PLACE IN TOWN!!! My friend recommended Ann's and I have not turned back. I have to take all my pants in at the waist to fit correctly. I got 6 pairs of work pants done for half the price at $60, beautifully done. My local tailor charges me $20 and the couple jobs they did were mediocre. It's a bit of a drive if you are in the city but I have not found another tailor in town that does the quality of work they do at the low price they offer. And they are lovely to boot! This is a wonderful family run business to keep around! read more

So rude. ONLY takes cash (probably illegal to do that) and is rude when mentioning it. Also, Ann may be sweet and helpful, but the men there are misogynistic and gross. One older man eyed me up and down like three times. I felt so uncomfortable. ALSO the work is only mediocre. Definitely surprised the reviews are so high considering the last three experiences I've had are so bad I'm never going back. Also they do close an hour early whenever they feel like. I went on a Wednesday and. Saturday and they were closed both times by 3. Worst place to go! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. My formal dress that I planned to wear to a church event this week was COMPLETELY RUINED at this establishment. When I went to show them the mistakes they made the owners (husband and wife) INSULTED ME, PHYSICALLY PUT THEIR HANDS ON ME and the wife told me to SHUT UP when I was talking. It was a NIGHTMARE. I will never be able to wear my dress again. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Horrible people. There are better places. Save your time and money. read more
