While travelling through the Loire Valley, hubby and I enjoyed several meals here. The open and airy dining room has fabulous pool views and the château is visible in the distance.
Dinner was accompanied with hot and fresh bread - crusty on the outside, soft and chewy inside. Smoked salmon with frisée salad was light and fresh. Chicken was slightly overcooked for my preference but the mustard sauce was really tasty and perfectly seasoned. The tiramisu was creamy and rich.
The next night we enjoyed a delicious puff pastry appetizer with tomatoes and goat cheese, beef bourgignon, and a dark chocolate tart with strawberry sorbet.
Breakfasts were also very good. Selections included fresh fruit, crepes, waffles, hot food (eggs, sausage and bacon), croissants, and cereal. There were 2 coffee machines to make espresso, cafe au lait, and hot chocolate. A hot water dispenser was also available for pots of tea.
Service was good for the most part although for some of my non-French speaking travel companions, some requests were lost in translation. Overall we had great meals at the cafe and wouldn't hesitate to dine here again. read more
