Went for a birthday dinner after I walked past it a few days before. The inside is very small, but it has a cozy feeling to it. I'm not vegan, but I am vegetarian, and the food was phenomenal. I want to try everything on the menu.

A must try! Few places tote solid vegetarian & vegan pizza options, but Nova Kitchen delivers. Service was - meh. The host/ greeter was rude and short, but once we came back after an hour plus wait (we didn't have a reservation, highly recommended since they're a small establishment with very limited tables) our server was the owner/manager Fabiana - she was very delightful! Fabiana shared great food recommendations and beer pairings. The pizza were outstandingly fresh and both the veggie and vegan pies were finger licking good!

I thought I'd already tasted the best pizza in the world but then had dinner in Nova and realised that this is the home of the best. Small, unassuming and homely in a traditional Italian red and white checked tablecloth style, Nova's ambience is cute and quaint. However the pizzas are seriously scrumptious. With a full, extensive Vegetarian and Vegan menu boasting Vegan cheese, Seitan and every veg topping you could possibly desire my meal here on Wednesday 9 November 2016 was truly fantastic. Our party of four people, carnivores included, all loved Nova. We ordered both Vegetarian and Vegan pizzas and calzones. My pizza which was called the "Vegan" on the menu came topped with mushroom, onion, sweetcorn, peppers, aubergines, courgette and Vegan cheese and was delicious. A couple of bottles of really great Pinot Grigio, a bargain at £10 each, complimented our food perfectly. Although full after our mains we shared a Vegan peanut butter and jam cheesecake, just to sample it, and it was luscious. Nova definitely needs to be booked in advance, as there wasn't a free table during our midweek visit and we were very glad we had pre-booked a table. A constant flow of people called in to collect takeaway pizzas, yet despite the fact that staff were extremely busy the service we received was flawless. The one and only problem being that there isn't a Nova Pizza in my own hometown of Belfast. I'll definitely be returning when I'm next in Edinburgh.

We just sat down for an excellent vegan lunch. Pasta bolognese and spaghetti carbonara (with seitan). This place has got a lot of choices, even for vegetarians. I'd go with friends and share some dishes because the helpings are generous and it tastes great. Buon appetito

I was actually chatting with James W just this week and he mentioned the amazing four cheese pizza at Nova, so when weekend work mode required pizza, I was happy to find that this spot is on Deliveroo and promptly ordered a pizza and a calzone (as back up). I hadn't realized it was a 100% veggie restaurant but it actually made my late night pizza binge feel a little bit more healthy. It was nice to note that their menu is chock full of GF and vegan options. They are definitely tucked into my back pocket for future party catering - sometimes it's tough to find a spot that covers all your bases but still keeps the carnivores happy. The verdict on the food? I was pleasantly surprised. First off, their dough is INCREDIBLE. Honestly, I could just eat the dough all. damn. day. I was a bit skeptic about their nutella dessert pizza, but after this dough love fest, i'd definitely give that a go next time around. I ordered the mozzarella and veggie ham calzone and i'd pass on it next time around. I was expecting the veggie ham to be in chunks versus slices and as much as i'm not opposed to veggie meat replacements, this one just didn't have enough punch to it. I think it needed more salt or sauce? Pretty bland all around. But the four cheese pizza? Hot damn! First and foremost, if you are NOT a fan of blue cheese - do not order this pizza! I happen to be a fan but I could see this turning some folks off. However, if you love a little blue - this pizza will be right up your alley. It arrived piping hot and a good size for such a reasonable price. It is SO rich! I can usually devour a pizza pretty quickly but only made it through a few pieces of this one before throwing in the towel for the night. That means there is deliciously cheesy lunch waiting for me tomorrow as well. At £8 for the pizza, that's not a bad deal. It definitely piqued my interest enough to return to this little spot somewhere down the road. Until next time Nova...

I had wanted to try this place for aaaages! I made a group booking for a vegan meetup and because they only have around 21 seats they asked if I could send them a list of pre-ordered food choices. I made a Word table with everyone's names and their starters, mains, and desserts. I loved this set up and I think all restaurants should require the same; it really saves time on waiting for people to make up their minds! Email correspondence back and forth was great (for an accurate note of vegan menu options they can email you a separate menu, the version on the website isn't that clear of what is and isn't vegan) and I had the document of food orders with me on my phone and reminded everyone what they had ordered when the food started arriving. The pizzas came loaded with vegan cheese (or they have dairy options, too) and were delicious. My personal preference is for bases a bit more soft and doughy and less crispy, but others saw this as a plus point. Starter sizes were generous, and if you order a bruschetta you may not manage a pizza main to yourself unless you love love love bread. Really love bread. I opted for the potato, cheese, and pesto pizza - delicious!!! Then, I had the pizza dolce - two pizza base slices topped with a chocolate and hazelnut spread and icing sugar, which was also very tasty and not too overly sweet. I got the coconut cheesecake to take away which was really creamy - chocolate cheesecake was also offered as an alternative flavour. They have wine and beer available and BYOB is also an option; it's £3 on a bottle of wine and £1.50 on a beer. They also accept cards. Booking is highly recommended!

What a lovely place! I really like vibes this place have. Service is amazing. Miss was kind, smiling and helpful. Also when I entered she seated me she explained me everything and offered me a water. They have season menu - winter. I chose vegan pizza funghi e pancetta. The flavor was great but dough was little bit oily for me. When I finished main course, miss offered me desert menu and recommend me Oreo cheesecake (I said I am chocolate guy ). And the choice was perfect! I enjoyed my lunch and I can only recommend this place!

    Vegetarian carbonara! Do it.

Such a unique place with endless vegan options! This is the fist time I've seen an entire restaurant conquer vegan Italian! And they're killing it. The vegetarian carbonara was very good. It was my first time trying seitan and I'm now a seitan fan because of this restaurant! Hail seitan!

Novapizza was a great experience, the food variety and quality is very high and it is tasty . I ordered the spaghetti with puttanesca sauce and it was excellent. The size of the portions is generous and the presentation was really good. We also shared a pizza topped with carbonara sauce and home made smoked seitan , it was very fresh and the crust was thin and wonderfully crispy. A great experience and will gladly come back again.

He made great wine recommendations and treated us very well. This restaurant has a certain hustle and bustle of a busy Italian restaurant, but still captures the intimate feeling of closeness with their seating area. We decided to start with Focaccia and it wasn't disappointing! It had a crisp exterior with a nice, fluffy interior. The Focaccia had just the right amount of oil and salt to make it the perfect starter. Despite having a delicious line-up of pasta, I just had to go with the pizza. Once again, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The pizza had some of the most delicious sauce I've had in a while. The cheese was perfectly melted and the crust featured a similar structure to the Focaccia. What really set the pizza apart was the chili oil our waiter drizzled on top. I'm so glad I took him up on his offer because it added a pleasant spicy kick to the pizza. I was also able to sample my wife's vegan pizza. She also decided to go with the chili oil and her pizza was some of the best vegan pizza we've experienced together. It was packed with delicious vegetables and the mozzarella vegan cheese wasn't too heavily applied, nor did it give the extra gooey mouth feel that vegan cheese often has. Combined with the chili oil, it was a wonderful experience. I'm so glad we made it out to Vittoria.

I was happy to find an Italian restaurant in Scotland since I was looking for some comfort food. The interior has lots of seating space in separate little rooms. It's all one connected space, but there are separators and barriers around the sections, if that makes sense. There's seating for larger and smaller groups, and I was immediately seated at a table by myself. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the arancini and seasonal risotto. I told you, I wanted CARBS. The arancini was gooey and cheesy and fantastic and came with a spicy tomato salsa. The perfect appetizer. The risotto was divine! It came in a parmesan cheese crisp bowl and had a parm cheese base, pears mixed in, and balsamic vinegar drizzled on top with some arugula. Everything came together for one delicious, decadent meal. The portion was also huge and I had plenty left over for another meal. My server and I talked about cats and I instantly felt welcomed in Edinburgh and at La Favorita. If you like Italian food, I definitely recommend hitting them up!

Not least because the twinkly-eyed waiter called me "young lady" - this kind of complimentary talk earns anyone an instant tip as far as I'm concerned. This eatery is the kind of classic, traditional Italian experience which has to produce at least a smile from visitors, even if you've had the worst day at work ever/been dumped/dropped your favourite ornament/are a generally grumpy individual. I opted for the Risotto Imperiale, a tasty, well presented, affair, which came with jumbo, juicy prawns and a langoustine with one claw perched on top of a generous portion of rice and champagne sauce. My very critical fellow diner, definitely a pizza enthusiast, went for the Pizza ai due Salami, which after a few minutes of careful munching he announced was "very good", definitely high praise for him, before continuing to devour the rest of his meal, (only offering me a small slither). La Favorita has a pretty extensive menu, with all the dishes on offer you would expect from an Italian restaurant, so if you've got a craving for decent pasta and pizza somewhere different, where you're not paying over the odds, take a wander away from the centre of town and get down to Leith Walk.
