Our experience with Elizabeth Taylor at Nova has been excellent & exceptional. In building our home we have had interactions with many subs & suppliers - far and away the most responsive has been Elizabeth. Our designer chose way too many expensive tiles and Elizabeth found several 'price performers'. Some of them were better than the original. She knew we needed a couple slabs & kept her eye on inventory in Reno & Carson and called out of the blue to tell me she'd found a contender at a great price. When we have had to switch products her response has been, no problem. When I wanted to show the selections to the designer, she offered to pull all the samples and have them ready. The job isn't finished yet but I have no doubt we will continue to receive exceptional service from Elizabeth & Nova. We while heartedly commend them to you. read more

Nova Tile and Stone in Minden has been the best experience I have had whilst remodeling and now building an addition on my home. I remodeled my kitchen last year and recently went back to the Minden store again (now that we are remodeling and adding an addition to our new house). I have visited almost all of the tile and stone stores in Reno and Minden and the service at Nova Tile and Stone, specifically in the Minden store, was the best. They have a great team who all work well together and create a great environment to spend time choosing purchases. Joe assisted me last year when I purchased quartzite slabs and he was extremely knowledgable and made the whole experience enjoyable and fun. This time around I booked an design appointment with Susan and she could not have made the process more enjoyable or successful. Having visited Bedrosian and used the designer service there I can say that Susan (Nova, Minden) by comparison had more experience, better customer service, listened to what I actually wanted and made the best use of my time. I had previously visited the Reno store and Diane was great but the Minden location far surpasses my expectations in every way. If you don't want to spend hours and months of weekends looking for stone and tile I would suggest booking a design appointment at Nova Tile and Stone in Minden (even if you are closer to Reno). read more

Gayle and I recently purchased a home in the Genoa area that was truly in "move in" condition. However, there were a few things we wanted to change. One was the brown carpeting in the living room and one of the guest bedrooms, for we decided that hardwood floors would be a better choice. The carpet was of high quality and we opted kept it in the master bedroom and the other guest bedroom. The first thing we did was go over to Nova Tile & Stone in Minden and pick out some wood samples. They have a huge selection and it was a little overwhelming considering all the choices and the associated floor space. We found the Nova folks to be helpful and responsive, but ours was still more of a "self serve" experience in terms of what to buy and who should install. They have names and we wisely chose Jesse of JS flooring, who helped us with the choices, how much to buy, and having it delivered. read more

We are renovating our home and our contractor recommended we visit NOVA Tile and Stone in Minden. The store has a great selection of flooring, countertops, and tile. But that vast selection of products can be overwhelming. That problem was quickly overcome by working with Rachel Jackson and Susan Schenk who were simply phenomenal. They listened to us and provided great customer service. We set up several appointments with them and in what would have taken us hours to complete, selected flooring, countertops, and tile in minutes based on suggestions they made and products they presented. Charles sold us an excellent quality carpet. They had the best price for the identical carpet compared to other carpet suppliers in the area. He also stated that a qualified carpet installer would be required to properly layout this type of carpet without high lighting any seams. He recommended JS Flooring of Minden, NV. Jesse and his crew installed carpet in our house just prior to Christmas. The installation was so professional that you are unable to identify any seam. Bottom line is I have perfect, beautiful seamless carpet through out my house. read more

We've used Nova on two remodels for our home, I love the selection and convenance of being in town. The ladies at the front desk are super helpful and would listen to me talk about my likes and dislikes and help with color selection. We took several samples home to see what fit our taste and are absolutely in love with our new granite in the bathrooms with under mount sinks, my new backsplash in the kitchen and my custom granite folding station in the laundry room. Everything turned out beautiful and there's no reason to leave our home because we feel like we live in a resort! These guys have been FANTASTIC. Number one, they have a great selection and are very knowledgable on the different materials they carry. Number two, their prices are reasonable. Number three, they have ALWAYS been terrific on the customer service end. Always super friendly. I called tonight at 5:10, not knowing they close at 5:00, Todd took the time to restart the computer and check on my order, even though they were closed. I feel like it is my responsibility to call and check on order status etc., I read one review where someone had been waiting to hear from them for five weeks? My wife and I are remodeling a bathroom and went in to grab some samples to pick a tile out,the lady that helped us out was very pleasant and helpful, however the samples we wanted had to be ordered. She got our phone number and said it would take about a week and she would call us when they were in. After waiting two weeks we went back in and she said she did not know what happened and she would order them again and call us. That was 5 weeks ago and still no call so we went elsewhere read more

Very Bad service. Let customer insult me because I lacked knowledge on stone products. Product I purchased was not what I wanted. Prices are sky high. All employees were rude and would not answer my simple questions. Very insulting experience. Would never go back and definitely would never recommend this business for anything. My husband and I tried all the stores in the Carson Valley (and one in Reno that everyone said was the place to go), and we kept going back to Nova and their knowledgeable staff. Even so, without Chelsea Green we would not have the kitchen we have today. She saved our remodel - LITERALLY! She was willing to stay with me and go through every backsplash choice in their warehouse and compare it to our countertop until we found the winner. I now have the kitchen I dreamed I could have, which is no easy feat in a small, almost 50 year old house! Even our general contractor said it turned out nicer than (though thankfully not as expensive as) some of the million dollar homes he builds in Tahoe! Something has gone wrong... Let me start by saying that we remodeled a kitchen and bath and then built an entire house using their products. There is really no one else in town. The showroom is nice and they have the largest supply. Recently, I have heard contractors saying that they just cannot recommend them anymore. It is the errors and service. So, now, we BOUGHT two slabs of matching granite and back splash, and only one showed up to the job site. After calling and calling and no return call about this for MORE THAN TWO WEEKS, we finally find out that they must have sold our piece to someone else because it is missing. The problem with this is that we know the styles change and now we cannot match the piece we have. Now, we have to go back there and try to get two new pieces that match and I am NOT paying for two pieces, as we have already installed the one piece we had (actually 4 with the backsplash). It sucks and I should have listened to the contractor. Two years ago, I would have given them five stars. Something has gone wrong. We also should not have to dog them with calls. Unfortunately, my experience is that this is the norm in the Tahoe/Carson area. read more

We remodeled a house in the Tahoe area. Initially Nova was great.. terrific selection and many displays for tile, stone, carpet, and flooring that gave us many good ideas. HOWEVER, once it got past the 'browsing' stage, the follow through and errors were unbelievable. Don in the cabinet department only returns phone calls when you've left several. I don't care how busy he is, that is poor business. Ryan on the sales floor was great. He should go and work for a better company because he has a lot of design talent and really listens to what people like and what their budget is. The owner, Todd was unwilling to compensate for errors by his staff. (We had an error and extreme delay with a cabinet order, and he took no responsibility, and in fact, was down right rude in his attitude, quick with excuses but non- existent in any compensation for a delay in our project caused by a member of his staff. ) Get ideas there, but go elsewhere to place your order. read more

I was very impressed with Nova Tile. I did a bathroom re-model. The sales person took a lot of time to explain the variances in natural stone. They also, we're able to recommended a porcelain product that is easier to keep clean. We visited the showroom 4 times and I don't think we ever got to see all the product the selection was so huge.
