The parking lot is big, the rooms are clean and spacious and there always seems to be a bunch of cars parked here. Hm... i guess business is good. No themed rooms here. This place is strictly business as its.... not really close to a convention center.... or the airport.......... So good, because you won't find your 'Arabian Nights' theme here. But you can find the 'Bleached and Sanitized 8 Times A Day' theme here.

Housekeeping carts blocked every portion of the walkway and my group and I literally had to pus Carts down the hallway in order to get to our rooms with our luggage. That's not cool. But Douglas is a wealth of knowledge and gives you all the information on discounts at restaurants. And the rooms are actually cute and comfortable. I had one roller blackout shade that didn't works so couldn't access me of the room brows. But it was okay as I had a 2nd window. I like their little joints to the airlines. It's cute; especially the Pan Am door symbols.

The hotel, in general, is in a great location with easy access to food and the train, and you can find something late at night to eat for some reading. During my last few stays, I arrived late at night. I did stay in a room that has been upgraded, and I like the changes. Especially in the bathroom, but the smoke smelled on and off throughout the halls. Entry into the lobby area was sometimes too much, and just easy access to walk into the hotel for guests and nonguests. The late-night staff is always welcoming and helpful during my visits.

Checked in, and they said "opps sorry, we oversold that room due to a system error, you can only get a one bed room instead - here's 5k points, please accept and go away". So, long story short, to stay off the streets at 10pm, we had to fit three people on a bed where one of us wasn't comfortable snuggling up against us - horrible three nights of sleep. Service was tremendously bad considering this was their fault. They didn't even give us a room with the NYC skyline. So eff this place, do not book. It's on the outskirts of Flushing anyways, the lobby is small - you're MUCH better off at the Sheraton.

Inside is cozy and homey, the hosts are nice but more is expected from a room that is over $200/night We stayed for 6 days and not once did cleaning service come through even though they told us at check in that they come through every 4-5 days. The AC unit is ok but the air flow in the room is poor and there is no circulation to the loft where the 2nd bed is located. Thankfully it was early June and not too hot. The middle of summer would have been miserable. The downstairs can be ice box(ask for blankets) but the loft is too hot to sleep. By the way there is a large opening where the AC unit was installed so it will get very hot without AC on. The fact that they provide the cheapest single ply TP seems to represent the management's attitude. Provide the bare minimum. Paying $200 + night and not spend the extra $1 for a decent roll of TP.

Check in was smooth and the hotel staff were friendly during our stay. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy at times but we didn't have any issues with the locals. The room itself was pretty small and looks dated. We did have a small private balcony but we didn't really use it. Unfortunately, the walls are pretty thin, so if the next door uses the sink or shower I could hear it very loudly. The price was around $200 CAD a night in Oct 2022. There are many other hotels nearby too if you're looking for better accommodation quality. I highly recommend the location of Long Island City as transit is so convenient and overall much cheaper than trying to find a hotel in Manhattan.

I got a room with a balcony. That pleased me to no end because, no matter the weather, I like getting fresh air in my room. The neighborhood is fine. Pretty much all hotels and residential. Also, lots of homeless around which makes me believe some of the hotels around there are housing them. Including the Nesva. It's just a few blocks away from Queens Blvd.. Check-in was simple. There's a cute little waiting area with tons of information for tourists before you enter. Past the elevators is a communal room with a microwave, ice, etc. Hotel is fairly small. Only a few floors with about 4 rooms to each. Seemed clean. Elevator was fast. Upon entering the room, I was greeted to the familiar smell of weed. Listen, I won't lie. I indulge in that but I DON'T want the room I'm paying for to reek of it. That's where the balcony came in handy. Opened the door for a bit and the smell left. I must say, the room did not impress me. It disappointed me a lot. Old, dirty rug full of stains and burn holes. Broken smoke detector on the ceiling. Tiny, HARD pillows. Stained sheets with holes. Extra quilt with hair on it. Broken hangers. No USB ports. No lamp. ONE outlet. DEEP tub that's incredibly slippery. Broken sink faucet. Feels like I'm staying in someone's dingy room. No hand towels or washcloths. A balcony with no furniture. What the point?! The only pros are that its quiet, the bathroom seems clean, there is a mini fridge, the bed is comfy and the Queensboro bridge/city view from the balcony. I just feel like I'm gonna go home with some communicable disease after staying here. Look, I know you get what you pay for, but in these times, I don't care what the price point is, IT NEEDS TO BE CLEAN! Would reccomend The Nesva? Not really. Would I come back? Most likely no. I still have 1 more night here. Wish me luck. This hotel paints itself to be something it's totally not.
