We went to another room and that room was not cleaned. There were cigarette ashes all over the two tables they have in the (non- smoking) room. The bathroom was crazy. My husband cleaned the toilet! I was livid!! Ok shower time... the water pressure needed help, the shower head wasn't outputting the way it should for $136 a night. Once it was time to rinse the soap off, so much grime and dirt was running down the (glass) shower door because I then realized the entire bathroom had not been cleaned so of course I'm standing in a dirty shower stall. This place is supposed to be newly renovated. Don't come here! Sleep in the park, you're better off! L

This is a two stars no frills hotel, so there are no amenities. There is no gym, no pool, no coffee…read moremaker, no iron, no blow dryer, not even a place to hang your clothes! So you better keep your expectations low. The positive things I can say about this place is the convenience of the location, and ease of the check-in process. I just showed my ID, and I got my key. It was close to the Jamaica Station JFK airport. If you have a short layover in New York, and you want to stay somewhere close, then this might be a good option. However, they jjack up the prices especially during weather delays, flight cancellations etc. I've seen them advertise it up to $500. Crazy right? Plus it says on their front desk that they only accept cash, but there's an ATM inside the hotel. I guess that's how they make their money. Now if you're booking this in advance, you can sometimes get it around $80 range. .I got this room for free because I used my hotel points from a hotel app. It was expiring soon, so I had to use it or lose it. Hotel needs a major upgrade for sure!

This was easily one of my top unpleasant hotel experiences. I guess I should start by saying that I…read moreonly stayed here because my only other option was was to spend 20 hours in JFK after my flight was cancelled due to weather. In case you have never tried, it is impossible to get a room in anywhere near JFK on short notice, all I could find was this roach motel. For $587. I am a 50 -year-old man who sleeps with a CPAP, so I bit the bullet. The place is filthy. Broken outlet covers, smudges on the walls, a framed picture on the wall with broken glass, stained blanket, and absolutely no emenities. There was one soda machine, in the lobby next to the atm. Unfortunately that machine only took $1 bills and change, the atm does not dispense those, and the front desk does not deal in cash at all. Here's a suggestion. Take any part of the $587 that you just gouged me for and fix any of the dozen problems in the room. Or even better don't charge more than $100 for a room here... ever. This is the type of business that run just to soak people who have no other options. Seriously, if you get stuck at JFK, and can do so, just hang out in the airport.

Oh, Hotwire. Why you gotta do me like this? Y'all called this a 3.5 star hotel. This is a 1.5 star…read morehotel at best (and only because the woman who checked me in was very nice). You can't reasonably compare this to the Sheraton or the Hilton. This isn't even a Ramada or Holiday Inn. Matter of fact, the pen in the room was from Howard Johnson's. (The phone was from Wingate by Wyndham.) Neither of those are 3.5 star hotels according to your own site. Don't try it. The location is shady as fuck. Now, I like a gritty locale. I have lived in the less desirable neighborhoods of many cities and been just fine with that. I understand that y'all have no control over the neighborhood. Just don't straight up lie about what I'm getting into. My checkin went terribly. The woman checking me in was nice enough and it wasn't her fault that Hotwire fucked up the booking. But, it took far longer than it should have and I had to work it all out. NOT a 3.5 star experience. Meanwhile, she checked in a young couple who had to return to the desk for a different room because, apparently, they were given an already occupied room. I can't leave here for dinner without worrying that access to my room will be given to some random stranger. Even worse, what if it happens while I'm *in* the room? NOT a 3.5 star experience. The lobby is lit up like an operating room. It's abrasively bright. There's free coffee in the lobby. A gallon of milk in a mini fridge serves as the option for creamer. I watched three different people stick their noses into the top and sniff. NOT a 3.5 star experience. The hall is clouded with a mixture of cigarette and cannabis smoke. Supposedly, this is a non-smoking facility. NOT a 3.5 star experience. There's some weird white substance smeared all over the door. Maybe it's glue? Maybe it's some sort of cleaner that didn't get rinsed away. I don't know. NOT a 3.5 star experience. There's a dispenser with Dial Body wash in it mounted in the shower. No shampoo. No other toiletries. Thin towels stained with something yellow and single ply towel paper really offset the crooked light fixture. Then, there's the black hair in the tub/shower. It's not mine. NOT a 3.5 star experience. The desk chair is broken. It's mangled to the point of being in a constant state of a forty five degree recline and six inches from the floor. The drapes are half off the mounts and the lighting in the room is terrible. I'm not sure that isn't to save me from seeing even worse. NOT a 3.5 star experience. Oh, yeah, there's a fight club down the hall. I'm cool with a little recreational violence but I came here to sleep. The people next door are either watching porn or making porn. I'm not sure which. I'm trying really hard to ignore it. NOT a 3.5 star experience. But, you know, it's just a few sketchy blocks from Jamaica Station and the AirTrain to JFK so maybe that's why Hotwire thinks this dump is a 3.5 star experience.

I have already made one review on google about this because no human being should live like this even for one night. If I could give the Hillside hotel a negative 50 stars I would it was beyond disgusting... Normally I book with Expedia and this was the first time I book with Priceline in a while and I would suggest that you curate your selections of hotels so that ones with a standard as bad as this are not showing.. This hurts the Priceline brand. When I looked at the reviews on Priceline it looked like it was ok. I was not expecting luxury but just basic clean and tide.. This was so far from that that I really have no words other than complete and utter disappointment. Upon voicing my displeasure the front desks only response was thank you will let the manager know. That does not solve the problem for me nor does it compensate me in any way for having to stay in such a filthy place. Attached is the review with the photographs so that you can see that this is not just a person being picky but rather that this is a complete bait and switch vs what is shown and expected with any level of accommodations. In the morning when I saw the cleaning lady I told her it was dirty and she was just like oh, and sorry... and giggle when I told her that it was very very filthy... Front desk had a similar level of lack of care. Please don't let others be tricked into booking in a place like this and experiencing the severe disappointment after booking thru Priceline... :( NEVER NEVER AGAIN.... *** UPDATE ***** After many calls to hotel and to Priceline, a refund was started to be issued. I have not yet received the funds but hopefully in the next few days. But after pointing out the ridiculousness I guess it was decided to refund the money spent. Even with a refund, I feel that they need to stop and basically revamp this entire hotel and the entire management processes and the cleanliness standards.

Trust me, never stay here…read more OYO hotel, also known as Airport Plaza JFK Hotel (beware of any names this business tries to use. I have encountered a third as well). Its rooms are completely unsuitable for guests in general. They are shockingly bad. If you have kids, you will want to escape, and quickly. If you don't have kids, you will be fine, but only if you don't mind a location that is dirty, stinky, dangerous and with no amenities. A short list: The toilet itself (!), the bathtub, and the floor of the bathroom was dirty there was no toilet paper, no soap in the bathroom. the floor in the entire room was dirty and sticky the sheets were dirty there was no extra bed, as requested months in advance (and advertised), so I was sleeping with my two small children in one (dirty) bed the room stinks heavily like cigarette smoke (despite being a non-smoking room) once we 'escaped' the property the next morning (we arrived too late and had no other option), of course there was no one at the front desk (behind bulletproof glass!) to complain to. Oh, and the elevator did not work on the way down, so we walked six flights with luggage and small kids and met a commercial sex worker on the same route. On your walk from Jamaica station, you will meet a range of commercial sex workers, their clients and 'managers', as well as (hopefully) some undercover police. I have travelled my entire life, in my countries. I have never.. ever... encountered a room this bad.

I could stay at the expensive retro on-airport hotel, I could try to sleep in the airport, or I could leave the airport and sleep elsewhere. This place was still quite costly as one might expect, but it fit the bill pretty well for option #3. Notably, there is a shuttle service. To come from the airport to the hotel, you have to ride (and pay for) the airport's train, so I just took a Lyft instead. To go to the airport from the hotel, they will take you to the terminal for free, and this service is notably every 30 minutes, 24/7, so that fit the bill for me. In addition to being a good quality room, my space had a fantastic view of the city skyline, which will not be true of every room in the building but will probably be pretty common. The neighborhood is a bit sketch but I walked out for dinner and there were people walking dogs and things on some of the more residential streets. I got a microwave and a refrigerator but not dishes or utensils. It's always a bit strange to me when, as is the case here, there are two hotels next to each other under the same brand. This one had better reviews than the other one, and I was satisfied with my choice.

Everyone should be able to live in an affordable, decent house. The houses we were building were to help with rebuilding of houses that were damaged in superstorm Sandy. They put us up here and I heard that the rooms we reserved were actually double booked by management so there was a mix-up on their part which caused us some headaches. Anyhow, the rooms are pretty tight. I'd say maybe 200 Sq feet with two queen sized beds, a dresser/armoire, and a desk. Okay, it's basically cramped. The hotel itself isn't too bad. Everything is clean as far as I can tell. The good: It's a decent place to lay your head at night. They have a fridge! The bad: One of our friends had a TV that didn't have any sound. The front desk seemed to be disinterested in fixing or replacing it. He went a whole week without sound. The A/C systems are rather loud and don't have much adjustment. I guess this goes for just about any hotel. It just sucks that you're going to either be freezing or burning up. There is no happy middle. We had it set at 72 and it was definitely not 72 in there. The room we had, 703 was really cramped. Barely enough room to fit two beds a desk and a dresser. Another room our friends had was twice the size. If you're looking for places to eat, just walk down Hillside. King Kebab was very good and Richie's Diner as well. You can find just about anything you might need on Hillside or if you go down to Jamaica, there's plenty more there. All in all, it was okay. Not great, but not terrible.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Yes, That's you JESSICA. More on this impolite, rude, and…read moredisrespectful person later. If you are going to stay over here, keep checking your credit card ad infinitum because they are liars! Upon check in I was asked for a copy of my credit card and driver's license to identify if I was the person who had the reservation to stay here from Friday until Monday. Afterward I went up to my room and was generally satisfied with the appearance of the room. It seemed to be clean with a weird bleach smell and light notes of generic pine sol. Anyways, back to the story about the incidents that are leading to a 1 star review instead of a 3 star at best that it would have been otherwise. I go out and sleep in the next morning and miss my "continental breakfast." The next morning I receive a phone call from the front desk clerk stating that I had overstayed my welcome by 45 minutes and that the check out time was at 11:00 AM. At this point, I am about to lose it over the phone but I try to maintain my composure and I go downstairs show the guy my confirmation number and he said that he brings out a piece of paper that I had signed apparently which was under someone else's name. Like, dude, you are the one that had my ID and my credit card ... Why did you check me in under someone else's room?! How is that my fault that you can't read and YOU are the guy behind the counter?!??? I just signed it mindlessly because after you usually give your credit card to someone you are hoping to G-d that they are responsible enough to be handling other people's monies. Anyways, I am over it by this time, glad that I still have a place to stay. I breathe and think that they have lost a point and are down to four points on my yelp review to be. The next morning I wake up thanks to the stairway that's right next to my room and every time someone opens the door it makes a HUGE BANG. So I thought someone had gotten shot. Considering the area this was in, that could have been a very real possibility. So I wake up in a joyous mood thinking that I will get to enjoy a great breakfast. The coffee was so insipid that I had to spit it out in my cup. The donut was so stale that it tasted like it was brought from Walmart two days ago when they are about to close the bakery for the night and put stuff out a dozen for a dollar. The corn flakes and milk were probably the only remotely edible things. The container that had the flakes was so tight shut that it was truly a struggle shaking the cereal out of it. Minus one more point. Sunday comes and goes and it is Monday morning and time for me to check out. This is when the lying starts. I check my credit card statement online and I see that there is a charge on there from Ramada that I do not recognize. The same front desk clerk informs me that oh that is a charge for incidentals and that they will issue me a refund once I check out. That sounds extremely fishy to me but I believe him and I leave. Once I am back in Houston now I see both charges, the original one for my stay for the three nights and this erroneous charge that I am not sure what for. So I call the hotel and I ask them why do I have this charge. Ramada's very wonderful employee Jessica answers the phone and puts me on a hold that seems to feel like it would never end and explains to me that I was a no show for Friday. At this point I was laughing and I asked her if she was serious. How in the world am I going to be a no show and still be staying there. She then goes on to tell me that I had three reservations for the same stay. This is absolutely preposterous and makes zero sense to me. I explain to her that I had made one request through Hotels.com which I had cancelled and I received an email from Hotels.com with full refund. The other reservation I made was through Ramada's website. I explained the whole situation to her that I did not make three reservations, that I had only made two reservations - one of which I had cancelled and the other one was online. But she was adamant that I had three reservations and was extremely brutish in her handling of the situation. She kept insisting that I was a 'no-show' on Friday (8/14). After I explained to her several times that I was billed in error because of the front desk clerk's error for checking me in incorrectly on my first day, she just repeated herself that I had three reservations and that I was billed correctly and I wanted to get this issue resolved I can talk to Ramada's 1-800 number through which my booking was made. I really hope that customer service really does reach a resolution by 8/31 like they have promised me. This is just a little insight to those who might be thinking about staying over here. Please just do yourself a favor and just don't stay here.
