This is the only sake brewery in Los Angeles. The sake was delicious and the sweet red wine was excellent. They also brew their own beer as well. Get the taster and select from there. If you are a plum wine fan, you must try Nova's! You have to drive up to the gate and call the number listed to gain access. This is a straight tasting room so no food, but I believe you can take your own food. It's worth a visit! read more

(Review based on 3.5 stars) REV Winery is located in a gated business plaza. To get the gate opened, you will need to call REV Winery when you are in front of the gate to get them to remotely open it for you. Then just drive towards the back to find them. To kick off my birthday month (my birthday is March 18 by the way), I came by this winery with my husband and our little girl dog (yes this place is dog friendly!) last Saturday, around 1:50 pm. We walked in and there was 1 employee behind the bar, she greeted us as we took a seat at one of the tables. I had a Groupon voucher for 2 flights of wine. But being that this place is also a brewery, we were also able to get beer too. For each flight, each comes with 4 tasters of your choice (with the exception of a few wines that are only sold by the glass). We ended up getting: My flight: Symphony- Of the tasters, I liked this the best. This is their moscato, dessert wine. It had a nice, crisp flavor. Syrah- Didn't like the taste of this. Sangria- I would hardly call this a sangria because it was red wine with chopped pieces of apple. A sangria is a drink where the fruit should be fermented and also mulled to bring out the added sweetness/ natural sugars from mother nature's candy. This wasn't it and found it to be disappointing. Blend- This wine didn't appeal to me. My husband's flight: Pineapple Sour Cider- My husband didn't like this drink and is lead to believe that he doesn't like sour beers. I didn't care for this one. Pretty B- My husband thought this was just okay, I didn't care for this one. Imperial Storm Trooper & Chocmil- Of the 4 he had, this and the Chocomil were his favorite. He is a dark beer drinker and thought these had flavor. Although he does like IPAs and such, he thought these were the best. Service was friendly but I just didn't really care for the tasters that we tried. I feel that with my rating of this place, 3.5 stars, it is purely subjective to my taste preferences. The vibe was friendly and laid back (what you would want in a winery and brewery), but the drinks just didn't appeal to me. But I hope that doesn't stop you from checking out this place because you may end up liking Rev's adult libations. By the way, you are welcomed to bring your own food. One Yelp member had suggested bringing in his own cheese can cracker plate. Such a good idea, I did the same. Although I did read that this place does get food trucks, there were none on our visit. But most likely because we were there so early. But in case there are no food trucks when you arrive, it is better to bring something to eat with your alcohol (so you don't get buzzed and/ or drunk too quickly). By the way, when you leave, the gate will automatically reopen on existing. So REV will not need to remotely open the gate for you when you drive away (drink responsibly and make sure there is a designated driver). read more

We stopped in last night with a Groupon for wine tasting. We've been here before to do the beer tasting and had a great time (see review under Rev Brewing Co.) For this tasting, you got to choose four 2.5 oz. selections from their three white wines (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Symphony (a blend)), seven red wines (Pinot Noir, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Sarah, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, a Rev Blend, and a sangria, which is not on the menu). My wife liked the Mourvedre, I liked the Nebbiolo, and we both really liked the Sarah. Desiree was behind the bar, pouring, and she was really friendly and cool, taking the time to discuss their various wines, beers, and even some of the other local wineries and breweries. Since we were told during our beer tasting trip that they don't serve food (only chips, pretzels and jerky), we packed a nice little cheese/salami, olives and cracker spread and sat right at the bar and had a great time. They have several bar-height picnic style tables as well, so plenty of seating. The have an extensive selection of board and table-top games and quite a few patrons took advantage of those while enjoying their selections. We're super happy we found this little local brewery/winery and I'm sure it will become one of our regular stops. read more

What a cool spot! Just a heads up make sure when you approach the gate to call the number and they will open it for you. As others have mentioned this brewery is pretty barebones however the service is fantastic and the brewtender was knowledgeable and helpful. Small but very specific brewery I stumbled upon this when looking for a brewery in Covina....first off it's in a business complex with a gate I had to drive around and almost missed it at first. At first glance it's really small and the inside needs a lot of improvement it's not the most inviting place to have a drink. Came here with a few girlfriends for a wine tasting. The place was a bit hard to find. Once inside the place, it becomes a cute winery slash hang out spot. We each had a flight of wine tasting. There were a few other people there but it was never too loud. The service was ok. The wine was good. The one negative thing I remember we complained about was the lack of food or good snacks. I think we ended up buying chips and some other snack. Hopefully that has changed or changes soon! This was my first visit to REV Winery but I loved it! It's an intimate place. It's perfect for hosting birthdays during the week. We came and celebrated a good friend's dirty 30 on a Thursday night and I want to say our party took over the winery with over 25 guests. I don't think it's very busy on weeknights considering we came on a Thursday night. BUT it makes celebrating or hosting birthdays even easier. A flight of wine was about $13 and charcuterie was $15. Pricing is reasonable and board games placed at the front of the winery was a nice touch. With rounds of 2 sets of Jengas and family style truth or dare UNO going; there was tons of fun and drunken laughter everywhere. It's a discreet location with private parking. The winery is gated and so is parking. When you arrive, It looks like you're entering a plaza of warehouses. REV winery's number is posted at the front gate. Ive been coming to rev for years, and just like many good wines, it gets better with age. I always enjoy the staff and great selections they have to offer. Also, there is always something going on at REV, sometimes food pairing, paint night, live music. I follow them on their instgram where they post all their events they hold. I personally had an okay time here for my friend's birthday but I was horrified when I saw a lipstick mark on my glass cup. Mind you, I don't wear lipstick so the pink lipstick mark on my cup was definitely not mine or my friend's... UGHH SO GROSS. I've been to Rev a few of times, and I'd have to say that whether is really busy or empty is a hit or miss. Usually weekends tend to be busier, but it can definitely vary during the week. Rev is located in the back of a gated business park, you actually have to call to have them open the gate and let you in. At first, this was a little strange to me and kind of off putting, however, now I really like it and think of it as a cool little quirk about my local brewery. The place is small and cozy, but there is ample seating. Some games to play, cool "angel music" artwork on the back wall behind the bar. Wooden barrels for table stands, wood planks as table tops, some regular tables and chairs.. you get the idea. The people that work here are super friendly and very inviting, Autumn especially. She has no problem striking up a conversation with you and making you feel welcome. The owner is a super cool guy, tends to be there chatting up the customers, hanging out and such. The beers here are pretty unique, a couple of my more favorite ones are the Mangonero IPA and the mead so hoppy. They don't actually have any flagship beers they are known for.. it's really just several different batches of whatever they decide to make, it's completely awesome but kind of a bummer at the same time. I can enjoy the Mead so hoppy during these months, but the Mangonero is no longer on tap.. sad times. All in all, I love Rev, good beer, great atmosphere and best of all, its a local business! Came here with my GF and a friend after having dinner nearby. Very strange location - the brewery is inside a gated area which you have to call in order to go in. No issue on your way out. We got the Groupon deal which gave us 2 pints of beer and 2 souvenir glasses. The staff working there said they ran out of souvenir glasses but would be happy to take our names down and we can pick up whenever they get the shipment. I hated that they didn't even have a time-frame of when it would be delivered so it could be never as far as I know. The gave us a 2nd option of getting 4 pints of beers instead and thats what we did. Beers here were just okay - nothing special. The venue itself is small and loud. Limited seating and they offer some board games and giant jenga. There was someone grilling food outside for sale as well. Not sure if I would come back as I wasn't a fan of the beers I tried and also they shouldn't be promoting Groupons they cannot honor. read more

I recently discovered this place through social media about their special beer they were offering - mellon but it was sold out. Their other options intrigued me so I thought why not! Sake brewed brewery? I love craft beer and I like sake! And I'm a fan of Japanese beer. They're located behind a gated area and you have to call in for them to open the gate for you. There's a sign to the right of the gate with their number and keyword and they know right away you're trying to enter. I came and got multiple beers: - White IPA - Hefeweizen - Wild West - Oolong - Ginjo - White Peach Wine We tried each one and I have to say we were WILDLY disappointed... we thought white ipa and Hefeweizen were also a safe bet cause they're kinda basic beers.. but there's no flavors to their beer! There's too much yeast in it and just doesn't taste like anything.. it was so bad we couldn't finish a can! Were so disappointed cause we bought 4-packs of the IPA, Hefeweizen and Wild West and they all pretty much sucked.. we didn't have high expectations but this literally feel WAYYYY off base. I don't know if this was a bad brew or what.. but a really bad first impression that we don't know if we would come back.. **Update in response to owners comment I did purchase the Ginjo and Oolong beer but had no desire at the time to open and try them. I have now opened and tried them... they taste alike to the others.. disappointment. The Ginjo did taste a little more to what we expected as described to be infused with their sake yeast but it was similar to the Hefeweizen. One profile flavor and flat. The Oolong beer was WAYYY too bitter. It's like the tea was brewed too long and I taste no peach in it. Just a mixture of overly brewed oolong tea and yeast flavor into it. SOOO disappointed. I'm sorry but I would not return. I'm not sure where the Asian flair is other than the over use of brewed sake yeast? But a disappointment as I am a fan of both craft beer and Japanese beer but these were just a disappointment with ONE flavor profile across. They were so hard to drink we didn't even finish a can. Came here on a Friday night for live music, wine, and tacos. It's located in an industrial area and just like other reviews said there is a gate. Once we got to the gate we called and they quickly opened it, plus there is plenty of free parking. It's a nice little place with several tables, small bar counter space, and few barrels with table rounds. Their menu consists of wine or beer on tap and far as food it depends on who they have for the night. The night I was there the had tacos out back which were delicious! I'm a wine drinker so I started with a flight of 6 tasters and then picked a my favorite and had a few glasses of that. I prefer reds but that night I loved the white Zinfandel, try it! Service was friendly and they were helpful in choosing beer, there was a line but it went fast. I'd come back for another night also they have games to play I'm pretty good at huge connect four! I LOVE wine and now I don't feel like I have to travel all the way out to Temecula for some good wine! The owner here, Eddie, owns a vineyard in Temecula so if you want some authentic wine, come here! Aside from just wine, they also serve beer. Seriously, could it get any better than this? It does. They allow you to bring any food in here so I came here with my bf one night and we were able to try different things. We loved the Peach Wine (mildly sweet, white) so if you like a sweeter wine, the peach wine is really good. My personal favorite is the Coffee Cream Ale which is called a Shot in the Dark. It reminds me of a lighter smoky coffee flavor, and it's probably not as scary as it sounds... but you have to try it if you love coffee! I tend to go for IPAs, but this place blew my mind with the different wines. To get in, you have to call the place because there is a closed gate. Parking is located INSIDE the lot and it will look like it is closed. Luckily, a car was coming out of the gate so we were able to get in. Feel free to call and we tried to call the night after, but they didn't pick up? So sometimes it might be closed for private events. Great place to come hang with friends! read more

After our journey through LA & Inland Empire traffic, we finally made it.. with a check-in phone call to access warehouse area, we were cheerfully greeted by brewer, Patrick, and happy partakers at the bar and table areas.. plenty of games and conversation to keep us entertained.. on to beers... almost everything was amazing and uniquely different to other breweries!.. hazies, imperial Saisons to stouts for those of higher ABV preference(Me).. Hefs, Blondes and lagers for those of lighted preference.. we didn't even make it to the wines, yet seemed to be enjoyed thoroughly with every varietal available... looking forward to our next pass through the Covina area read more

We almost left but saw the sign at the last minute - glad we did Anyway, super nice girl hosting the place. Love this place! It is a great place for both beer snobs and wine lovers. They have a great beer list (lots of beers, but only saw 1 IPA) and sangria (15.5%) on tap! On top of that they produce and bottle their own wines! They have over 20 to choose from (most of them are reds). Came tonight with my girlfriend and got two flights which included six 2oz pours per flight. We tried 12 different red wines, and if you've been wine tasting before, try to read through what each wine presents themselves as. I enjoyed the Barbera red wine the most. Tips for the wine noob (from a wine noob): -bring a cheese plate with cured meats and strawberries (girls/dates love this kind of stuff :) -smell the wine (this is where u pretend like you know what you're smelling, but are really just looking at the menu that shows the ingredients) -swirl your glass (this is suppose to aerate the wine) -if you have made it to this last part, it is time to drink. Things to note: -you CAN bring OUTSIDE FOOD! -this place is ANIMAL friendly! -there are games! -the entrance to this place is usually gated after 6pm I believe BUT you can call the place and they will remote you in -you can get flights or either beer, wine, or a mix of the two. -hours vary based on how many people are present. Great selection of beers, wines, and board games. The space is small, but the staff is friendly and the music seems to always be bumping; a little too loudly to be heard, in all honesty. I wasn't a fan of the décor, as there's a difference between being minimalist and just being poorly furnished. However, the aesthetics of the place aren't what you're interested in, right? I've never been much of a beer drinker, but this place is serving out craft brews that even I'm hard-pressed to criticize. Whether you're a Stout or an IPA's person, this place will not disappoint with their wide selection of boozy refreshment with an interesting combination of notes, from chocolate to coffee. The 'Shot in the Dark' with coffee undertones was my favorite stout. The wine menu isn't enormous, but has a little bit for everyone, and from my experience, the Riesling was refreshing, and the Symphony was the best dessert wine I have had in a while- not overly sweet, but just enough to cut the harshness of the alcohol. All-in-all, if you're a local, this place just might be good enough to make you want to be a regular. That whole having to buzz to be let in through the gate situation and just finding the place, was a bit of a turn-off for me, though. It shouldn't be that much work to go drink pricey booze. read more

No idea how and why other yelpers would rate this place so highly. REV is apparently a "vanity" project for someone with a few bucks to spare. The night we went the beer flights weren't even cold; so much so that one of my buddies who doesn't let a drop or crumb get away left almost 2 flights. The wine is definitely "not ready for prime time", it's pretty mediocre. One of the choicess I tried was completely corked, and the one they offered as a replacement wasn't too far behind. They're trying to make passable varietal wines out of what are usually blending grapes, without much success. The only wine that passed muster for me was the Barbera, and then just barely; all the wines, including the whites, were served lukewarm too, a real turnoff. If these folks are at all serious about winemaking they need to take a serious step back and reconsider how and why they're in this business, because what they have to offer now isn't very good. Of course, lots of people don't know much about wine & they like to pretend they're doing something sophisticated by tasting (which is completely artificial anyway) so who knows. The staff is very nice and the room has an OK vibe, although it's just a converted commercial space without a/c, so it's not all that conducive to hanging around, especially if the beverages aren't worth it and the room temperature is unpleasant. I don't like to be negative here, but this was a pretty poor experience, except for the staff, and that comes nowhere near to making up for the plonk they're serving. Maybe they'll improve in the future, but for now I can't think of any reason to return. read more

REV is a fun place to hang out with friends! It has an upbeat atmosphere but it's not loud. All the staff members, especially Kyle, took great care of us. I had a wine flight followed by additional tastings of the sangiovese and the cabernet franc. Kyle had great recommendations for my guests and me. Fist and foremost the beer is dull, bland, and utterly forgettable. The location is behind a fence and you have to call for someone to let your vehicle inside. Honestly who does that? I'm so surprised this little gem is in West Covina! What a great concept - wine flights! You can get tasters of any of the wines (it's a pretty extensive selection.) This is especially great if you are new to wine like I am (I finally started appreciating wine recently.) A couple of things I loved about this place: -It was helpful that the bartender printed out a menu with descriptions about each wine that we had in our flight. -You can bring your own cheese plate! I loved that because I am so particular about what I like in my cheese plate. It also saved us money since we had stuff at home already! -The bartender was super attentive and understanding when we asked her to explain why the wine tasted so woody. She explained that it's because they just bottled it recently from the barrel. Random tips: - It seems that they host a lot of events. We went on a Thursday late afternoon, so it was pretty quiet. The bartender told us that it's very lively on the weekends. -Since the winery/brewery is in a gated location, the bartender informed us that after 6:00 pm, the gates are closed, so guests have to call in before being able to come through the gates. Not sure what people were smoking when they wrote the bad reviews for this place??? Prob drinking that delicious smoky beer that Nova Brewing makes!!!! I'd have to say that is probably my favorite!!! I am not super informed about their beers (but I will be when I go more often), but I believe the beers are made from rice (?). Ithasthe same great beer tastes as other breweries, but the mouth feel doesn't taste heavy like other beers. You'd have to go yourself to crosscheck what I wrote. REV is one of my favorite breweries. The place itself is pretty small, which can be inconvenient on Saturday nights since the seating is limited. However, the staff might just be the friendliest staff I've ever met and they have both beer and wine. The beers range from about 4.8 percent to 13 percent and are pretty much all delicious. The wine is $7 a glass, which seems expensive, but they give you a lot! Plus, the night we came had a bunch of cupcakes and pizza. It's great, and I will be coming back here a lot in the future. It's also a marine bar so if you are a current or former member of the military, expect a good discount. read more

Their beers on tap always have new selections while also offering the favorites that keep you coming back. In the taproom they feature various works of art for sale.
