Had a team bonding event for work here and we had seven people who were participating in the Asian cuisine cooking class. The three dishes that we made were pork baos, dan dan noodles, and wontons with chilli sauce. These were all staple foods that I grew up eating in a Chinese family but it was quite interesting to make them with a western fusion twist. If you don't know how to cook, do not worry because I certainly don't either. Dan, the owner, led our class with his assistant Kait. Both were very helpful, engaging in conversation, and accommodating. Dan did a really good job of explaining the origins of each dish, bringing in his own experiences and life stories with his family which I really appreciate as this added a personal touch. He stresses the use of organic ingredients and often shared with us where to buy these common items. Once you walk in, you store your personal items in the cupboard provided. Then you write your name on an erasable name tag and put your apron on. Everyone is involved in the cooking process, from washing vegetables to chopping garlic and green onions. There was just a right amount of time to cook but also socialize with one another. You can also consume alcohol while cooking. I found that the assistant often prepared most of the meat, so some of the hardest parts of the recipes were already accounted for. The pork bao, for example, only required us to make the bun part but I do not recall preparing the pork or marinating it. Everything tasted delicious and looked so colourful that the plating easily looked like restaurant quality, even if you just tossed them all together on a dish. We used a lot of garlic though so a lot of us still came to work with garlic breath the next day! Still, I think my favourite dish must have been the dan dan noodles because of the peanut sauce. Feeling very lucky to have tried my first cooking class through work and hope to be back another time to cook another cuisine! read more

Outstanding Gluten Free Buckwheat Crepe for $8. Unusual marriage of beet walnut hummus cheddar (mature bite as I asked for lite chz and it definitely present, drlish) omelet with raddichio greens salad. Silk Road Early Grey loose tea $3 in single pot, love how Nourish treats tea right. Hubby chowed on a beet lemon muffin which he happily devoured with his cappacino. Decor is clean white walls with suspended vintage window frames, kiddie cooking play station, open kitchen cooking school concept, to food presentation, and fresh, quality ingredients, this is a new Favorite Yum while across the Border. Oh and there's a sunny patio out back where we dined al fresco. Must Return soon! read more

This cooking class was a really fun experience. I'd definitely recommend taking a class with Nourish, and there's a wide variety of menus you can choose from. We were a group of 10, and we chose the French mushroom tart class. Dan and Kait were awesome. Unfortunately, part of our group was late, but I appreciated how Dan wasn't annoyed or rude about it (at least he didn't show it haha). Instead, we went ahead and started without them, and our friends caught up when they arrived. I learned a lot of little tidbits and tricks for cooking that I'll be able to use at home, like knife skills, differences between cooking oils, baking techniques, and my favorite was making my own salad dressing at home. So, it was fun and definitely informative. read more

I was expecting to like Nourish with its inviting peaceful atmosphere and fresh food concept. I purchased a vegan version of the breakfast crepe. It was ok but missing something. As the cheese being omitted is what made it vegan, that is likely why. Too bad they didn't have a vegan substitute for the cheese. The beet hummus on its own with some spinach leaves was unremarkable. Tasted like PC beet hummus you can buy down the street at No Frills. Tasted like it, not sure if it was it. Hopefully the salads or sandwiches are better but Don't think I'll be back to the cafe to find out. read more

Holy shit this was the strongest cup of coffee I've had. I ordered a latte with almond milk, however, it was more like coffee with a splash of milk. I shared it with the bestie. Service was good. I appreciated the modern yet country elegant decor. Good place to shoot the shit with the bestie about life. read more

Had a fun and entertaining afternoon team building cooking class. The place is super nice and very inviting. The cooking class area is open view so made it more fun. Dan, the owner, was wonderful. Time went by really fast and we came out fully stuffed :). The food we made was delicious. I would definately recommend it for those looking for a team building event or even a fun thing to do with friends. read more

I rented the space at Nourish for a shoot last weekend and Dan and his team were AMAZING. Not only were they very responsive leading up to our shoot and very accommodating to our last minute schedule, but the food they fed our crew was delish! We ordered banh mi, cheese toast, brownies and more, and everyone was in love. The space is gorgeous and very conducive for shoots. They have a back patio that is perfect for staging gear or setting up a small base camp. The space was perfect for our small verite shoot. Thanks to Dan and his team for taking such good care of us!!! read more

We went to nourish for a cooking class and it was great! Dan was awesome: very interactive, funny, and high energy. He was exactly the type of person you need to run a cooking class in a room filled with strangers. We made gnocchi and with his explanations it was fun and easy; most people in the class talked about making the dish again at home. He also focuses on the price of ingredients which is nice and talks about substitutions that can be made too which is always helpful. I'd love to do a girls night cooking class at his shop, bit really think it would be fun no matter who was there. read more

We had our team holiday celebration at Nourish yesterday, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Dan was engaging from the moment we stepped into the room. He & his assistant, Kait, led us through the Japanese cooking class, which included gomae, temaki, ramen & gyoza. It was a perfect combination of hands on and watching. Dan included everyone and had each person help out in different ways. We also got to work on our knife skills, which we obviously all needed help with. Dan had us laughing out loud more than a few times. He encouraged interaction within the team, cracked a ton of jokes and laughed at ours (even if they were bad) The food was fantastic, there was never an empty glass of wine or beer and everyone left already wanting to come back. Dan, thank you for such a great time! read more

My work group just did a team building cooking class here yesterday. I can't recommend it highly enough. We cooked gnocchi, and everyone absolutely had a great time. It's a family run business, and they are very passionate and well informed about the cooking classes. I can't wait to take another class there! read more

I recently attended the Contemporary Chinese cooking class with a friend. The whole experience was excellent. Not only do you learn how to make tasty, healthy versions of some great Chinese dishes, but they are not complicated recipes, so you can make them at home - even on a weeknight after work. I also love that Nourish supports local farmers, focuses on organic ingredients and incorporates tons of fresh veggies in each dish. The owner Dan and his team made the night fun and engaging, and the Nourish space has great atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. read more

My family and I were visiting Vancouver from LA for my mother's 50th birthday. I decided to book a private cooking class at Nourish for my parents, sister, and I after researching group cooking classes in the area. I am beyond happy with my choice for several reasons. Firstly, the Nourish staff were beyond kind, accommodating, and knowledgable, from the initial inquiry process to post class (emailing me the recipe for the dish we made). My family had the pleasure of working with Dan (the founder) and Andrea, both of which were incredibly kind, funny, and great instructors. Secondly, the cafe and cooking school are devoted to creating dishes that are both delicious AND healthy and practical to recreate. Lastly, the overall environment of the cafe and more specifically the cooking school was incredibly welcoming and fun! I highly recommend booking anyyyyy group event with Nourish! read more

My friends and I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at Nourish with a private cooking class! Dan was so helpful in setting everything up and accommodating dietary restrictions, and the entire staff went above and beyond during the event to make it fun and interactive. The space was lovely (and great for photos!) and it easily accommodated our group of 20. We chose the Rustic Italian menu, and both the pizza and the gnocchi are dishes I will now be making regularly! I will definitely be back! read more

Was looking forward to a delicious vegan breakfast at Nourish. With a name like that the place had to have great vegan food right? Sadly this isn't the case. Ordered the breakfast crepe with vegan option for 8 bucks each and it ended up being a buckwheat crepe with hummus and spinach. They took off the cheese and something else and still charge 8 bucks for something I could have made at home. Next door is pirate Joe's, buy some artisan vegan cheese and some field roast sausage and add to the crepe, that is a vegan option. With Meet on main and Heirloom in Vancouver places like this need also include excellent vegan options. Very disappointing, it just feels like they aren't trying very hard to Nourish vegans for same price. read more

Beautiful interior, with employees who are clearly happy to be working here. I ordered tea and almond toast, which was smaller than expected but still crunchy. Section reserved for children with plenty of power outlets. No wifi, and not suitable for work or studying. Bring a book and lounge in the morning or afternoon hours when the place is not crowded. Only 4 stars because of the lack of wifi. read more

26 of us - UBC Counselling Services - spent a stimulating and Fun spring morning at Nourish cooking school. We had been looking for a team building activity that would appeal to all and this was it.
