Jay at Nouri Rugs is your go-to vintage rug dealer when it comes to all things Persian, Armenian, Pakistani, Russian, and more. He's got an unconventional approach to buying and selling and don't care about the provenance or anything else. It's about how the client feels about a rug and their home. Sure the age counts. And, so does the handiwork of old-world craftsmanship. But, when it comes to offering up the best-in-class hand woven rugs in LA, no one comes in a second close. You can spend countless hours strolling up n' down La Brea looking for minimalist touches for your tasteful interiors. But nothing beats Nouri's selection of vintage and antique rugs that come from some long-forgotten eras. Styles range from classic floral runners and tribal large area rugs to geometric Balouch rugs and Turkish wall hangings in colour combinations you'd never imagine possible. The quality is superior when looking at the touch and feel that you know will endure for another century or so. The Pasadena outpost isn't the end all. Jay can also source your personal colour palette from his warehouse stocking over 6000+ additional pieces not privy to the average shopper. We picked up this one-of-a-kind Kazak beauty, handmade over 100+ years ago by Russian women. The knotting is just spectacular. It looks distinctly modern--a combo that feels very right for right now. And this is our third buy from Jay, whose affable and charming persona keeps us coming back for more. read more

Highly recommended! Mr. Nouri was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I went to his shop to trade in a few rugs, and he gave me a great deal. I ended up getting two beautiful new rugs, and he even came to my home personally to place one of them perfectly. He also cleaned my mother's rugs, and she was very happy with the results they looked amazing. Excellent service from start to finish. Thank you so much! read more

These people are awful! They think lowly of women. I was ignored when I walked in. It was as if they thought I couldn't afford one of their ugly carpets. My husband went in a few days later and was greeted and shown around. But their carpets are ugly. We choose not to make a purchase. read more

A WONDERFUL experience. Jay (the owner) is incredibly knowledgable and kind, he came to give me a quote and pick up my rugs and delivered them in the rain! I love my rug, cleaned and restored prior to purchase~ As this was my first adult rug purchase, Pedro patiently showed me several rugs until I was confident with my choice. Hands down shopping at Nouri Rugs was the best decision I could have made. I came into Nouri Rugs yesterday looking for something that would give my new home and bedroom some character. Jay was able to show me many different hand made rugs that would go well with my current furniture. We picked out this beautiful red Persian rug that was hand made in the Middle East. I was so impressed by the detailed design and artistry. The second I saw it I knew it was mine. Pricing was extremely fair. Rugs like these go up in value, which is another huge benefit of purchasing a quality rug from Nouri. Honestly I can't stop starring at the rug. It so beautiful and inspiring. Thank you Jay and Nouri Rugs for the rug. I will be back for another one! read more

Wow and wow!! Seriously, what they did for me was beyond my imagination. There was a specific style of rug I was looking for... for a very very long time. I was recommended to try out Nouri Rugs and it was the best decision I ever made. I spoke with Jay and explained what I wanted. It was so interesting because for the first time someone finally understood exactly what I'm talking about. He showed me his inventory (which was a HUGE selection) but didn't have exactly the one I wanted. He told me to give him a couple of days to see if he could find it. Next thing I know a few days later I received a phone call from Jay letting me know that he has found exactly the rug that I am looking for. I stopped by his shop and that was it!! The exact rug I've been looking for years! The most outstanding service, prices, and selection I have seen in years. I've been to many rug shops through my search for this particular design and for the first time, someone took me seriously and cared to help me find what I want. Absolutely grateful for Jay!! read more

Jay at Nouri rugs is a saint! The sweetest man, a deep, intimate knowledge of antique rugs, a man of his craft. We had a 10x12 antique wool rug that needed repair. He came to our home, talked about what needed to be done and took the rug away. In a week, it was repaired, cleaned and beautiful. The man is such a mensch, we bought another 10x12 Iranian rug. I will never shop anywhere else. read more

I purchased a rug from Nouri Rugs last Wednesday for my parents anniversary. I know absolutely nothing about rugs but my mother has been hinting around about wanting one for some time now. I went in and was immediately greeted by a friendly man (who turned out to be the owner). He was finishing up with a couple but told me he would be with me right after he was done with them and that I should take a look around while I waited. It took about 10 min but he kept checked on me a couple of times and actually offered me water or tea while I waited (soooo nice!) They had soooo many gorgeous rugs! I originally wanted to get a large area rug for their living room but was actually about to settle on a smaller one for the entrance way because of my budget. He could see that I really liked the large one so he told me that he could work with me on the price. It was still a little more than I had available at the time and I told him I would come back during the weekend after I got paid. To my surprise he actually offered to let me pay what I had and pay the balance after I got paid. "HECK YES!!!" After he ran my card, I'm thinking this was a lay-away plan and I would pick up the rug upon paying the balance. Since I told him my parents Anniversary party was on Thursday, he insisted I take the rug THAT SAME DAY and he would run my card for the balance on Saturday morning. How awesome is that!!! I left with a fabulous rug for my parents anniversary and was able to give it to them in time for their dinner. I will DEFINITELY DEFINITELY be back and will refer Nouri Rugs to anyone who will listen. He even was nice enough to call me Saturday morning before running my card to make sure everything was in order and to ask how my parents liked the rug (of coursed they LOVED it, my mom was over the moon). I have never received such amazing customer service on such a huge purchase and had someone go so out of their way to give that level of customer service. Such an awesome experience. Thank you Nouri Rugs!!!! :o)))) read more

I highly recommend Nouri rugs. They are reliable, trustworthy, fair, do a superior job and know the product well A few years ago we had our 10X12, wool rug cleaned by a different rug company. They urged us to 'throw it away" and tried to sell us a new one. It did not wear well. We just had that rug cleaned by Nouri. They picked it up, and 1 week later delivered and re-installed it. The job they did was absolutely perfect. The rug looks like new, the film is gone. I wholeheartedly recommend them for anything to do with rugs. read more

Nouri rugs is the PLACE to buy your rugs!! I was referred by a friend and their rugs are top notch quality, amazing prices, and wonderful customer service! I intended to buy just one rug initially but seeing the wide variety of sooo many unique and beautiful rugs, I ended up leaving with three and it made my house into a home. One night I had a party and a few friends spilled dark beverages on the rug and without any problems, Nouri rugs cleaned it to perfection and made it look just as it did when I first purchased it!! The best part was that it didn't even take long either, I got my newly cleaned rug back in no time! I love this place!! I highly recommend purchasing your rugs from this place! read more

A wonderful experience. I walked into this store with absolutely no intention to buy anything and ended up purchasing two rugs. Jay immediately greeted me and started to show me his selection of rugs. He explained to me the places they were made as well as the quality of his merchandise. Within a few minutes I realized I was in the presence of a very knowledgeable but caring human being who was not so much as interested in making a sale but in giving me a real education on rugs. Because Jay took the time to explain quality, color and price I soon understood that he had some great rugs for sale. Jay was able to explain the reasons why some rugs were more expensive than others. After being shown a vast selection of rugs in various sizes, colors and prices it was easy to make the right decision I trusted Jay and feel confident that I got a good price on two quality rugs that will beautify my home. read more

This is a wonderful oriental rug store! Tons to choose from. Very sweet owner. A couple of years ago, I came in with my mom looking for a rug I had envisioned in my head. I wanted something simple yet modern. Within a few minutes of searching, the owner Jay found the perfect rug for our living room! I was so surprised. We were in and out within 30 minutes! Two years forward, the rug is still just as beautiful and impeccable. Thanks Jay! I will be stopping by soon to have it cleaned! read more

I have never given anyone a bad review, but I cannot give a good review to this company. They are the worst. I needed a 9x12 rug cleaned and repaired, and was most concerned about the repair needed along the border. He told me that he could repair most of it (I might have to buy a burgundy pen to do some touch up) and clean it and it would be done in two weeks. I called to see what was going on with the rug, and he said that he didn't like the way it came it out and was going to have to have it redone. Small red flag went up. When I saw the rug, it looked as bad as it did when he came into my house and told me that he could fix most of the border. If you can't do something right, don't tell a potential customer that you can. I wish that I held back $100 because he did a lousy job. I will never recommend him. I have nothing nice to say about the quality of work that was done. I went off of the reviews of Yelp, and wouldn't be surprised if he asked people to give him good reviews or have friends write them. I can only say "buyer beware". Get in writing what he is going to do and have him sign it. I would also put a clause in stating if you are unhappy, you will not pay the full price. WORST, WORST, WORST!!! read more

I went here after reading the positive reviews and I was baffled. I don't understand how anyone had a good experience there! The store was filthy...there were even cookies on top of one of the rug piles. The rugs were stacked so high that you couldn't even see most of the rugs. They were old and dusty. The sales person had no clue about any of the rugs...he called his boss for a final price in a rug (the only one I liked) and he told me it was $18,000 although the tag had the rug listed at more than half the price! This place was awful and a waste of time. read more

Amazing care taken with all three of my rugs. One is quite large and needed to be cleaned and repaired. It's a vintage rug and looks like new. Another was so filthy when I bought it used I barely recognized it when I got it back (after Jay took the time to clean it TWICE). What I thought was a grey rug came back beautifully ivory, with all the other colors brightened as well. Would definitely use them again. Free pick up and delivery doesn't hurt either. Thanks, Jay!! read more
