Without the need for any real motivation, I decided to take a roadtrip from NY to the DMV last week to chill with fam. While in route it was already decided that Friday we were hanging out. One of my nieces just moved and wanted to check out Nottingham's Tavern. When the day arrived, we all got ready for happy hour headed out to NT. Upon arrival the space is very spacious with some regulars at the bar. The four of us grabbed a high-top and was introduce to Jasmine, our server who was new. She was very nice and was holding down here tables very well. Now the DJ's were really good, I believe there were 3 gentlemen that rotated on the one's & two's. From the time we entered we barely sat down. The food and drinks were another story. The drinks, with the exception of the bottled beers, were horrible. I ordered a bullet with ginger-ale and my god sister ordered a Kettle One vodka with pineapple, both were nasty. Since both drinks were only two ingredients I'm guessing that their ice might have been the problem. In addition there was a Don Julio drink and a Pumpkin Espresso Martini also not good. The food was ok, it was pretty much typical bar food. We ordered the Chicken Nacho Basket, Wings (lemon pepper & buffalo), Southwest Chicken Egg-rolls and tots (they don't have fries... blasphemy!). I tried the tots, wings and egg-rolls. The wings were cooked well, as preferred, but the lemon pepper was absolutely too salty. The southwest egg-rolls were tasty. The tots were basic, again I'm stuck on the no french fries. Overall atmosphere and tunes great, the food ok but the drinks are a Nah. Which is crazy because this is a bar. To top it off they over charged us for one of those nasty drinks. I asked Jasmine, who again was great, about it and showed her the bill. I was offered another drink, told her absolutely not, but that I wanted a refund and she could keep it. The bill was already paid and she deserved even extra. Nonetheless we had a great time laughing and dancing. Just A Note: They have several things going on at once. There was karaoke and a comedy show schedule for that night. In addition they have pool tables towards the back.

The experience at Nottingham's was a 5 star rating. However, service was not and although I could definitely understand why, but really? I wasn't looking for anything crazy big and when one of my social groups posted they were going to nottingham's, I thought that would be perfect. I've been here a couple times before and it isn't a huge space but I do love that they have an outside area. If you're ever feeling overwhelmed, you can go outside and hang out for a bit. People also go out there to smoke and on this night there wasn't a bartender at that bar so you can sit and just hang out and talk or chat. I love that a lot of people wearing costumes because it's just something hilarious to me about people dancing in costumes. Service wasn't that great and drinks took a really long time to come out and I understand it being a busy night and maybe if it is more completely prepared staff wise. They had some security there and it definitely helped to make things feel safe because I actually looked like security. It was explaining to me that they charge entry based upon capacity and not at a certain time because of at the time we arrived, we were charged injury which was surprising but I guess I'm glad I had cash on me. They also allowed re-entry which was nice because I had to take a layer off and it got so hot inside. They switched up their menu for the fall and had some interesting cocktail choices on there. I went with the hot honey Peach Margarita since I had already been sipping on tequila. I couldn't really identify anything in it besides a little spice which I liked. By the time it arrived, I completely forgot what I had ordered and couldn't pick up on any flavoring. Having the outside bar open definitely would have helped but maybe there's a policy about that and the temperature and heat lamps or something. They definitely should have had help with making drinks on a night with a lot of people in attendance. All in all, it was a nice night and I enjoyed meeting new people and all of the costumes I saw.

Nice spot to watch all kinds of sporting events. During football season, all the games are on. Plenty of space to sit. Reserved tables are welcomed. Have some arcades and pool tables in the back. Outdoor seating is available as well. Started with the old bay wings. Not too much flavor on the wings but you can taste a hint of old bay. Others that I was with order the jerk wings and said the same thing about the flavor. Not too much there. Bacon cheeseburger sliders had more flavor to them and the fries were really good.

Came down for Happy hour. Grab a margarita. They had security at the door. Fast and kind service. The area was huge but clean. They also played some great music. I would come back to try some new food and drink for sure!

WE LOVE NOTTYS HAPPY HOUR OKKKK u will leave more than satisfied! the pizza was great I didn't want too much so me and my friend split it. oysters were fresh even had baby oysters stuck on majority of them!

What was left of the horrible drink after I took out the ice.

Forgot the fries that we ordered. Quesadilla were cold. Meatball sliders were cold. Sent the Mojito back. It was warm, no mint, no rum. Decided to try the mango margarita. The picture shows the ice that was in the $12 drink. Which they would not take back even after I said, I didn't like how it tasted. First and last visit

Ok not bad if you put the cover charge aside ($20 is absolute nonsense on a weekend with no live entertainment). But the wings were really good and so was the blue cheese dressing. The quesadillas weren't too bad at all really. Best part was the bartenders. They were super sweet and personable.

This place has the best happy hour specials in the area and HH is until 8PM... The drinks are good. Especially the Margaritas They have a DJ so music can be a little loud and hard to have a conversation. The Pizza is WACK !!!!! No flavor at all. The Nachos ...skip them...what is that cheese? Wings...value for taste is not there especially with celery and carrots chopped in 1/2....wtf? Will I come back? Yes for drinks... Enjoy a meal...I would have to be pissy drunk

Came into town on a Friday and met with some friends to celebrate their birthday. This place is a whole vibe...great people, delicious food, strong drinks, and lots of dancing. They had a party inside and had a party going on outside. The wait time on the food and drinks were a little long due to crowds but worth the wait. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for everything in one visit.

This place is a solid 3. Very divey and big. Last time I was there I noticed a whole other section I'd never known was there and it spanned the length of the space I'm used to. My last visit I went to play pool. The pool tables are decent and are rented by the hour (I didn't pay so not sure what the cost is). None of the patrons seemed to mind my endless cursing from sucking at pool, which was nice. That said, I was less than impressed with the draught beer menu and they didn't have some of the bottles listed on the menu either, which was frustrating. I went with a Raging Bitch after 2 other options I wanted weren't available. Plus the food menu was lacking. Bar food is not my jam, but the sandwich I felt obligated to order was decent. Wish the tots had salt on them! Service was great, no complaints there. Will return but prolly will eat and drink first.

It's located right on the lake, which is beautiful. I came in by myself and was able to find some friendly people to talk to and sit with. The prices of the drinks and food were a bit high, I spent over $20 for one cocktail plus tip. The trivia experience was a bit confusing and over-complicated, but it wasn't a horrible experience either. This was a re-scheduled performance by acoustic roots band Charm City Junction, whose January gig was cancelled by a snow-ice-tornado-storm! Judging from the full house, everybody held on to their January tickets. We were all greatly rewarded. We come for the music, but also for the creative menu, and we arrived early to our assigned-seats so we could have our meal before the music. Their staff is quick, and we also used the QR-code menu to get a head start. We stayed with classics: a salad and a flatbread. The Caesar was fresh and crisp with a fairly-light amount of tangy dressing and fun flat croutons. The non-cube crouton-shape is a surprise that cleverly matches their crunch closer to the crunchiness of the lettuce. The pizza was a clever flavorful shrimp and veggie creation, and we finished every bite. We had a tart craft beer from their varied list and a well-made French-75 from their creative cocktails, which included non-alcohol options, too. Caleb Stine opened, with great acoustic country-music originals, excellent guitar-playing, and his deep sonorous voice. But ask anyone, the most fun song was this one: "Something that can bring us all together. Something I believe in ... I'm eatin' butter, I'm eatin' cheese. I'm eatin' anything I please, No need to tell me the calories ... I'm eatin' butter." A whole song about Butter :-). Hilarious! After a full set by Caleb, the headline quartet Charm City Junction took the stage, showing off masterful skills on fiddle, clawhammer banjo, button accordion and upright bass. They played a really enjoyable mix of traditional roots, bluegrass, and Irish originals, often featuring whichever of the musician who composed a particular song. Some leaned toward band-supported solos, and some were rousing audience-engaging call-and-response, such as Boozy Suzy, from their Duckpin album. They reprised John Prine's "Please Dont Bury Me", from that same album, and played "I Ain't Gonna Work Tomorrow" from their newest album, Salt Box. We learned the traditional Irish "hup!" to shout when a musical phrase is just too great to hold quiet about! Many in the audience were pretty good at that, though i could not really land it. Several of the band members called out family in the audience, in fun friendly engaging real-time conversation that made us feel like family, too :-). We had a great evening! They made this cozy space feel like a backyard bluegrass roots jam. This space has great acoustics and a skilled sound-board. You choose assigned seats when you purchase the tickets to their performances, and i think they have first-come seating as some jams and game night. They offer so much! There's rock bands, R&B bands, pop, jazz, blues, local musicians, candlelight classical performances, sensory-enhancing "dining in the dark" experiences, brunches, a Mother's Day Soul / R&B sing-along, history spoken-word nights, a bookfair with bar, Motown music trivia, regular trivia, and even rentals of their venue. There's plenty of free parking, and a flat path from the parking garage across the street. It's a nice venue.

Those of you who…read moreread my reviews know I typically review either really good or really "not so good" restaurants. I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites! The staff are nice, but service and the kitchen seemed a bit slow on a Sunday early afternoon towards the very end of brunch despite the area we were seated only had a few tables filled. The Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was nothing special - feeling like a flat, single-note dish.. Perhaps it was that the hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity (usually from lemon juice) to brighten the dish. Or, that the nod to Maryland - the Old Bay honey - drizzled around the edges of the dish wasn't enough to elevate it to something that is savored with each bite. The Fluffernutter Blondie is a good dessert choice if you love blondies and peanut butter. Although, it was a bit drier than I'd like, the texture was still soft.

I had been here multiple times over the years. This is a nice venue with a lot of great musicians here. I've eaten here on a couple of occasions, but standard overpriced foods. Chicken tenders were pretty good as I recall. But I generally will try to eat beforehand. In the 4th of July example, it was actually a 1st date of several that summer, and we met at Mod Pizza beforehand by Columbia Mall and walked over from there. Coincidentally, my girlfriend & I are probably going to Mod Pizza this Friday, 7/3 before seeing Young Washington (very apropos for America 250) & Lucky Strike (about an American hero during World War II). The first time I ever went was in July 2015. I won tickets to see Sam Smith, no not a friend of mine I know, but the excellent musician. Wow, that was an awesome show. And I was impressed with the venue. Back then, I lived in VA, and my date lived further out in VA on the far side of Centreville, west of VA-28. I picked her up and drove in lots of traffic to get there, but it was worth it for my very first visit to Merriweather. Even though the concert was in 2015, I had met her in summer 2013 at an event. We went on one date in July 2013; she was kind of weird and one of the most right-wing women I've ever gone on a date with. I don't think she was high on my list, but she was the one who said yes to see Sam Smith. I will say I had a better time on this July 2015 date, but the backdrop of Merriweather & awesome Sam Smith helped boost this date. Other noteworthy visits were a couple of visits in summer 2019 with a girlfriend of mine at the time. For 11 months from April 2019 to March 2020, I had a membership on INWEGO, which was an events based platform, where you paid a monthly fee for 1, 3, or 5 events in a month. I often stuck with the middle priced 3 events per month. A couple of the events were at Merriweather, Third Eye Blind & Pentatonix. Also, I went with a woman I was interested in June 2022. She had invited me, and this was one of the rare times I paid for a concert, but it was Tears for Fears, which was great! I had more good luck in summer 2024 with winning concert tickets, with my girlfriend, 2 of which were at Merriweather, which Alanis Morrisette & Glass Animals were great! Most times I've been on the Lawn but a couple of times won seats. Seats are better because they are closer and covered if it rains. Lawn is still a good vantage point, but can be crowded and hard to find a good spot to lay a blanket down. Also, they do a great job on the concert lighting here, with the best example being my most recent example, the Glass Animals show. In summary, Merriweather is a great venue with great musicians.

The parking situation can be extremely tricky and a headache but thankfully the Ravens managed to provide free parking in a parking garage in the Merriweather district near one of the Pavilion's entrances (I think it's the West enterance(?) (Apr 2026). We hunted among filled tables until we found a one-seat open high-top and managed to beg another seat from elsewhere. We had a great view of the stage. We ordered beers directly from the bar because our table was sort of improvised. We got a Burger Shark draft, a smooth malty amber ale from Odenton's own Crooked Crab. And a good-old ice-cold bottled Natty Boh lager. The drinks were served right away. And in those few minutes, staff (it looked like a hands-on chip-in manager!) took us on at our invented table, and got our out-of-order food-order to us pretty quickly. We had a piping-hot sweet tender Yuengling-Beer-Battered Cod Sandwich on a brioche-textured bun, with a classic thick-yet-light crispy batter, american cheese, lettuce, and lightly spicy ranch. And a savory Grilled Smoked Portobello on a thick pretzel bun, piled high with roasted red peppers, onions, provolone, and lettuce. Both delicious and inexpensive. The band was lots of fun! Of course we knew every song. The band landed every riff and musical phrase that you know and love, yes they can hit Paul's high notes! And they bring enough original touches to each song to make the music their own. Tonight was their quartet (not their 6-piece band), and each musician had the lead in at least one song. They are loud, filling the room even with all the people soaking up the vibes. I almost didn't mention that Sonoma's keeps a dance-floor open in front of the stage, and we rocked all evening! We had a great boisterous, thirst-quenching, tasty, welcoming evening. I would expect this shopping center to re-grow around this popular long-time restaurant-bar music-venue (since 1996!). TLDR location info next, but it might save you a trip to the wrong shopping center. You'll find Sonoma's in the "Owen Brown Village Shopping Center" on the south arm of Cradlerock Way circle off Broken Land Parkway. This is the Center with the gas station, not the center next door with the big-chain grocery, and not the smaller center with the convenience store around the north arm of Cradlerock. This center is somewhat sleepy these days, so there's plenty of parking. There's more parking in a northeast lot, too. From the main lot, you walk by the nail salon, then turn between the buildings where the Chick 'n Friends chicken-shop used to be. (Best Pressure-fried Chicken and delicious catfish now at a different location!) It's a short walk southeast to Sonoma's on the right, with outdoor tables and a bright blue-and-yellow hard-seltzer ad facing the Lake Eikhorn trail and the back of the grocery. The actual Sonoma's sign above the entrance is subtle compared with the bright window ad.
