Came to the tasting room for one of Livermore's Wine Wednesday events. They are located in a tasting room, there are a few other tasting rooms next door as well. There isn't a ton of parking outside, but there are a few side streets that you can probably park on. The inside is very cute and well laid out. Not sure if it is always like this, but at this event they did not do tastings, you purchase a glass or bottle. We bought two bottles while we there to show with our group, the GSM and the Mixed Blacks. Both were so good! I ended up buying two more bottles to take home with me. The ladies who were working were very nice and gave us lots of details about the winery and the wines. I will definitely be back to try their other wines! read more

$15 tasting fee is like Napa prices but in Livermore. The Vasco Urbano is solid as was the GSM. They had live music on the outside patio in Saturday which was nice but definitely a bit over priced in my opinion. Average bottle was like $40. read more

I've been to Nottingham Cellars a few times and have always been extremely pleased with the hospitality and service. The owners both made a point of shaking our hands the first time a friend and I dropped in (back when the tasting room first opened). I went wine tasting in Livermore with a group of 6 last Sunday. We had an awesome afternoon. We stopped by 3 wineries and Nottingham Cellars was easily our favorite. Not only was the wine the best we tasted all day but the customer service and attention to detail was outstanding. Nottingham was our last stop and we were disappointed that we bought any wine at the first two wineries. We tried some really great wines and ended up buying a couple bottles of The Supremacy and The Ralphie's Blend. If you are planning a wine tasting trip in the Livermore Valley any time in the future, make sure to stop by Nottingham Cellars. You will not regret it. read more

We found this winery to be pretentious and cold. We came on a slow weekend in June. You have to sign in and pay up front before you are allowed to walk in...we accidentally walked up to the tasting area and received a surprised "how did you get back here?" and were then escorted (literally) to the front so we could give them our information and prepay. I found the wines to be only so-so. We were there shortly after they had unveiled the new second label - so maybe this contributed? read more

I love coming here! The wine is delicious,the ladies that work here are so knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is great. There are a variety of whites and reds. They have different wine clubs to choose from, which was perfect because we don't go through wine very fast. If you want to stalk up on wine, they have options for you too! My husband and I just became wine club members and we went to our first wine club event this weekend. The food at the party was so yummy and paired well with the wine. They also had a band playing which was fun. I would recommend this winery to anyone that enjoys good wine and good company! read more

Nothing but the best at this place. I have been coming here for a few years now. The wine is always excellent. I strongly recommend any of their Bordeaux varietals. My personal favorite is the Cab Franc. The service is also very good. Even when they are busy, they do a great job at checking in with groups and making sure you are being helped. Also, there was a very cool dog there that I got to pet. I don't think it lived there, just belonged to another customer. But still, I got to pet the dog and that was wonderful. We are residents of Livermore and kept going back to Nottingham as non-members. The wine is Amazing and the live music in the summer was fantastic. After 3 years, finally became members and haven't looked back. 1- The wine is top par. It's so good. It speaks for itself. No more comment needed. 2- The service- so good. Shala is the perfect wine officiando. She does the tasting room right. Just the right amount of information and clearly loves what she does. She has recognized us every-time we come in, and it doesn't go un-noticed. However, the rest of the staff is top shelf too. Each staff member has taken their time to say hello, introduce themself and make us feel welcome. 3- The actual tasting room is welcoming and feels like home. While the tasting room is not "on the vines", it's ambiance does it justice. The barrel room is beautiful and the live music in spring / summer makes up for it. The white wines are much easier to drink than the red wines. There was only one red wine that went down my throat smoothly while most of the whites went down easily. Port wine is nice. I bought a bottle. The service is super friendly. The place is a nice to chill and drink up. read more

This place is AMAZING. Amazing wine. Guys playing catch with a baseball. Beautiful scenery. Nice staff. THE FOOD was off the hook good. Get the Beef Brisket sandwich!! I see alllll the 5 star reviews and I am not one to be influenced by what other people write about a place... as tempting as it is. The truth is that this place is OKAY. A winery in a commercial strip mall...freaking genius! Yeah Livermore does has it's share of "destination" wineries, nowhere near the grand Chateau's & multi-million $$ facilities in Napa or Sonoma but for our backyard wine region they have a certain charm & homey quality that make Livermore unique. So if you don't have a few spare million or hundred grand laying around to build yourself a massive winery, tasting/guest center & sprawling grounds the next best route to showcase your wine would be to find an inexpensive, easy to get to location, spruce up the interior a bit and spend your money on perfecting your trade & let the product speak for itself. The product, which is sourced from various vineyards in & around the Livermore Valley has responded very well to their commercial/industrial business park surroundings. Their 2009 Viognier is one of the more steely/minerally subtle floral fruit Viogners in the valley. Food friendly but PERFECT on it's own as well. Same with their 09' un-oaked Chard, nice balance, good acidity, very business like and true to form. We really liked their Syrah & Ralphies Red & their Malbec was just quite the hit of the day! A big thanks to the tasting staff who were awesome hosts! Although I still stick by my slightly off-color claim of Rombauer's panty dropping power. Cheers! read more

I was here for the 2016 Livermore barrel tasting weekend and I was disappointed with the customer service. There was a comment about a particular section being for paid customers only assuming that I was not a paid customer, and that really rubbed me and my group the wrong way. We paid for our experience! The host also didn't look at or talk to us during the rest of our stay. Maybe we would have had a better experience if it wasn't during a special Livermore-wide event. read more

Some great wines here. We headed in very late, but they were still open and happy to pour for us. $5 tasting fee to really try pretty much what you want. All the wines were great. The viognier was nice, and both chardonnays were different and yet both were very good. Some of the better wines in the Livermore Valley. Their wine selection for the non-premium tasting isn't amazing, but the premium one is amazing. I appreciate wineries who make it a bit more accessible for those who can't spend as much. And you have to pay a bit more not to get something overly tart or sweet. I've had past years of the same wines and they were better so maybe it was just a not so hot batch when I came in to taste. After all, California is basically a desert right now. But the people working there are all so sweet and so kind and so amazing. And if you dont admire their chalkboard designs you're a fool. If you like sweet wines that don't hurt your pocket, Nottingham is your place. read more

We were lucky enough to have an event in their barrel room and it was amazing!! They did everything they could to make the event run smoothly and to make sure everyone had a good time. okay so I really don't drink anymore....lol from when I was much younger that is well today I attended the Yelp Sip-nic and I had there Chardonnay and I have to say it was absolutely the best I have ever tasted, so smooth, no acidity, not harsh just plain smooth and oh so yummy. Last weekend was my first time at Nottingham. It is definitely more of a showroom tasting room, which is fine so if you do enjoy the more vineyard type tasting room this is a totally different atmosphere. This is why I gave it 4 stars. That being said, you should still check it out as the wine is delicious! We checked Nottingham out Labor Day weekend the day after the Livermore Wine Harvest and I am glad we did. We are trying to cross off as many as we can off our winery list. Nottingham is a little on the pricey side for bottles but the paintings and names of the wines are cool! read more

Let me start off by saying I an a member here and brought my dog with us at least 20 times without a single incident. Today my wife was asked to take our dog outside "because she smelled". My wife looked at the worker asked here what do you mean her response was she smells and I think she needs to go outside to the bathroom. My wife said no I'm think you are s smelling the bathroom which they were standing next to waiting for me in the other room. She said no it stinks where she is standing, mind you they are two feet from the bathroom, so my wife walked out. I came out looking for them and they were outside. She explained to me what happened and I told her it was the bathroom next to me as the door opened up as I was going to the restroom next to that one I could smell it. The worker was rude and I found this very inappropriate. Needless to say we will no longer be members here or frequent the winery. To be honest In this past year it has gone downhill. The workers are less knowledgeable and friendly as in the past and I feel like the wines are now way overpriced. Membership cancelled. read more

We were members here and have always enjoyed their wines. I decided to stop by and they've made a few changes. The bar looks different but their wine is still fabulous. Today Emma poured for us and she was AMAZING! The place we came from had been stiff and a little uncomfortable. She was a breath of fresh air. I didn't want to leave. This place is great! She knew wine and made us feel at home. We chatted, laughed, and told stories. An added bonus was that they had music on the patio. We stopped by on Saturday afternoon and enjoyed some wine poured by Chris. The wine that most spoke to me was not the most expensive, nor the least expensive, but just right. Ralph's Red. I can honestly recommend this as a "stop" on your tour of the Livermore Valley Wine Region.I will say that if you haven't tried Livermore Wines, then you are missing a whole bunch of what is great in wine these days.This was my first visit. went here with friends for their wine pick up and tasting. they were quite busy so they took us in the back tasting area and sat us at a table and served us as well. Offered us cheese and fruit as well, we felt like we got the presidential treatment. Wonderful experiance and great wine.
