We had a serious problem with getting our mail delivered when we first arrived in town, and while the supervisory staff was attentive and polite, it did not get resolved until i'd had to visit at least three times. I'm not sure it was entirely resolved. If there's one thing, ONE THING, you want from your local post office, it's that they deliver your mail reliably. I do not have a big trust factor built up on that front as yet. And as far as preserving the business in the future, this and all POs have to develop a more positive customer service attitude at the counter. The clerks here are all polite, efficient, and professional, but they all seem to wear permanent sour expressions and address you like they're selling funeral services instead of stamps. The particular location is small, clean, and modern, has none of the charm of old style post offices but is at least not as depressing as some of the tired 1960s counter-based POs I've been in. That said, it's not inviting as a place to browse for shipping services; there are not a lot of work spaces or elbow room for managing your packages. There is a drive-through drop-off at this location (enter to the east on the one-way, and loop around to the exit) although it's worth noting the drop-off mailbox blocks other traffic, which is probably frustrating during peak times. I've been in towns, some of them fairly large, where the Post Office remained a sort of civic center and meeting place, and this isn't one of them. I've also seen a few, just a few, PO locations where they seem to emphasize customer service over the glum remnants of government bureaucracy. This also is not one of those. A very sad rating of mediocre/average from me. I can hope for better for this location and for the Postal Service as a whole.

I arrived just before closing (around 4:54 PM), saw two employees behind the counter, and yet neither made any effort to assist me or retrieve my package. If you're not going to serve customers up until closing time, consider updating your posted hours to reflect when you're actually willing to help. Disappointing and not what I'd call good customer service.

Mike Kanciruk has been in the repair business for more than 15 years. He's racked up great reviews which convinced me to give ComputeRx a try. Mike fixed my broken MacBook Pro in about a week. The laptop screen had cracked and I forgetfully let the warranty expire. Ugh! Mike charged me $75 for labor to install a new replacement screen which he had to order. It wasn't cheap. The whole thing ran me close to $600. I like Mike because he was upfront about costs and what needed to be done. Initially, I took my broken laptop to a repair shop near me where it just sat untouched for more than two weeks. The repair cost they finally quoted was between $100-$200 more than what ComputeRx actually charged, plus they wanted the money upfront. I had a bad feeling about that so I took my laptop back and brought it to ComputeRx instead. So glad I did. ComputeRx at 2215 Nott St. It shares an office with Nott Street Office, a shipping and copy business. They're few doors down from Lange's Pharmacy. .

These are all day camps, basically covering school breaks, in two-week segments, for kids ranging…read morefrom Pre-K up through middle school. The JCC summer camps are notable for a number of reasons. First off, the daily program allows kids to swim twice a day, with quite decent instruction. The camp fees are on the high side of moderate, but if you throw in the swimming lessons alone it seems like a much better deal. The activities are programmed by age group, but there's a great deal of latitude within each program for individual choice. So the kids have the nice combination of being able to go through with a group during their camp segment, but not get stuck necessarily always doing something that might not be their cup of tea. Activities include the usual craft stuff, outdoor time, cultural activities, arts (little shows, etc.) and an all-group session at the end of each week. The "bands" for ages are about two-grades wide so they're all adjusted age-appropriate. The JCC has some back fields, two nice playgrounds, two pools (an indoor pool available in case of inclement weather plus the larger outdoor pool), tennis courts, and a couple of somewhat sad-looking ball fields. It's not a woodsy camp but there's plenty of basic outdoor space immediately adjacent to the center itself. The center is well-appointed and has a few airconditioned spaces to get out of the heat when necessary. There are other activities going on at the center but the staff is fairly careful to keep the kids and adults out of one another's hair. For the older kids, there's a cool option for a "traveling" camp, which is basically a different field trip every day all over the region. It's pretty cool, and for the right kind of kid can be a nice bridge from day camp to the independence of traveling alone to a sleep away camp. The counselors are very experienced, and are onboarded carefully by the camp management over a period of years. There are always at least two per group, plus separate swim and tennis instructors. They have a lot of adult supervision (the Pre-K and youngers is all adult-run), there's a permanent director on staff, and a school nurse borrowed from the local school system to be the camp nurse. We've done about six sessions over the years and have nothing but good things to say. It is a little pricey if you're just looking for daycare, and it's a little scattered if you're looking for an enrichment camp, and it's not the wide open spaces of a sleepaway camp, but for a sort of smorgasbord of fairly carefully-supervised activities, as good as we've seen.
