Once again I received great service at this Fed Ex location. It is named The Nott Street Office…read more Spelling error in first review: Not instead of Nott. Today I needed to buy a new large box. Not only do they have a variety of sizes, they also have a nook up front where you can get a free used box if wanted. The staff member gave me tips such as do not wrap the box in paper because "if it comes off in transit, the box may wind up in China." I have come here for several printing projects, and I was pleased with the expertise and efficiency of the staff. They work out the best way to get the results you want and suit your needs. Unexpected Bonus: This store is a GEM when it comes to stocking a large variety of really nice greeting cards for any occasion. The selection is amazing, arranged well on several racks that are easy to access. They even have a rack full of clever cards with dogs and cats etc. The prices are better than you find in a franchise Hallmark store.

I'm determined to show this local, family-owned business some love. I needed a kind of…read morestraightforward printing job but had some trouble with it, and these guys came through and made me a very happy customer. I brought my flash drive and a question about misalignment, and this was my very first visit. I've been hoping for a while for a reason to stop at one of the shops in the strip, which ultimately is why I picked this place out of many business offering the same kind of service. There was another person in front of me but I was asked if I needed help without much delay, and eventually a gentleman assisted. He test printed it, showed it to me and told me I got it right, and had the template printed on a higher-weight paper. I still am impressive with how he knew what paper to use for my purpose and what he chose for me was exactly what I needed. I looked around while waiting for the print and saw photocopiers with a desktop computer along one wall, and there was what looked like a shipping counter, with packing materials, cards, miscellaneous stationery in between. And honestly, I was taken with the vintage charm and hope they stay open for many more years (I hear they've been around for about 20).

They are worthy heirs of the honorable institution that is the United States Postal Service.

Oh, boy. I bet Post Offices don't get reviews except when somebody is unhappy, and as much as I'm a…read morefan of the concept of the Post Office and supportive of the US Mail, this particular post office is not off to a good start with me. We had a serious problem with getting our mail delivered when we first arrived in town, and while the supervisory staff was attentive and polite, it did not get resolved until i'd had to visit at least three times. I'm not sure it was entirely resolved. If there's one thing, ONE THING, you want from your local post office, it's that they deliver your mail reliably. I do not have a big trust factor built up on that front as yet. And as far as preserving the business in the future, this and all POs have to develop a more positive customer service attitude at the counter. The clerks here are all polite, efficient, and professional, but they all seem to wear permanent sour expressions and address you like they're selling funeral services instead of stamps. The particular location is small, clean, and modern, has none of the charm of old style post offices but is at least not as depressing as some of the tired 1960s counter-based POs I've been in. That said, it's not inviting as a place to browse for shipping services; there are not a lot of work spaces or elbow room for managing your packages. There is a drive-through drop-off at this location (enter to the east on the one-way, and loop around to the exit) although it's worth noting the drop-off mailbox blocks other traffic, which is probably frustrating during peak times. I've been in towns, some of them fairly large, where the Post Office remained a sort of civic center and meeting place, and this isn't one of them. I've also seen a few, just a few, PO locations where they seem to emphasize customer service over the glum remnants of government bureaucracy. This also is not one of those. A very sad rating of mediocre/average from me. I can hope for better for this location and for the Postal Service as a whole.
