We (3 pers.) went to NoTo on a nice late summer evening (Friday) lately (after having visited the place several times over last winter/autumn). It's has been the worse Berlin restaurant experience ever !!!! We waited 50 min for our food:The manager it hurts writing this word and the ONE waitress did orally apologize once or twice but more to make sure of our Verständnis, and never refilled our bread basket or the spread that came with it The food ended up bland and not so appetizing (I had asked for a cabbage salad to go with my fist instead of the mashed potatoes, since it was a warm summer evening, and believe it or not, I got a small portion of white cabage on a white china plate no parsley, no dill, no juniper berries, no, just PLAIN barely pickled white cabbage salad. My fish was mediocre at best and they forgot the spinach that were in the original version (I never said I did not want the spinach), the risotto of my fried was OK, the spare ribs too fatty (and came with the same sub-par cabbage salad). The worse is yet to come: we thought that after such a misshap we'd get some coffee and dessert offered by the house to make up for what had happened Being tired and unhappy of having waited for so long we just asked for a crème brûlée and 3 spoons and expresso macchiato (they have no cappucino): dessert arrived swiftly (bad ! the crème had not been caramelized properly i.e. last minute) and the bill too: alas, it included EVERYTHING we had ordered, neatly HAND-WRITTEN on a slip of paper. Shit happens, we all know and sometimes in the kitchen too and we can all forgive that but definitely not not making a minimal effort to please your customers ! Again, it was not just a print-out from a cash register where things are punched in nearly automatically (and can be edited by a service-oriented human brain later on !): no, the manager/waitress wrote down everything as if it had been business as usual ! Enough, I'll bring my business somewhere else in town now ! So long Berlin-Mitte Schnauze and bad service !!! read more
