There is one bakery - Homestead Bakery in Westland - that is the only one I have found that offers homemade meringue buttercream that is silky, buttery, and not too sweet. I stopped by Pink Elephant Cupcakes to find out what kind of frosting is used in its desserts. The frosting used is standard and too sweet for my liking. I found it a bit pricey for a standard size and quality cupcake. A single cupcake is $3.50, a 4-pack is $14, a 6-pack is $21, and a dozen is $36. I would expect these prices for more gourmet quality cupcakes. It is a typical cupcake, which is fine for most people, especially kids and those with a sweet tooth. There are a lot of flavors to choose from as well. My favorite is the signature cupcake, the Pink Elephant, which is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and pink glittery sprinkles.

Dude the mushroom tart blew me away. Like everything else…read morewas really good, but that thing? WHEW!! YEAH!!! The waitress, Raven, suggested it to us and I'm so glad she did. One giant raise for her, please, thanks. At least 10 extra dollars an hour. I got the uhhh. Brioche... something. Basically fancy French toast with caramelized apples on top with a really good whipped cream. Super good. Might start caramelizing apples for French toast all the time now. My friend got the duck slow cooked in oil, forgot what it's called. But I tried a piece and it was really good too. Oily, but that should be expected of something submerged and cooked in oil. First time trying duck, and I think it's more fatty than chicken, so that probably contributes as well. Still good though. The lemon financier was good too, reminded me of like a lemon pound cake if you aren't sure if you'd like it.

This spot is amazing for brunch!…read more Highly recommend! We made a reservation and were seated immediately and found ourselves admiring the atmosphere. Felt like a different timeline and it was very classy. Our server was amazing and took care of our drink orders and was very personable! We loved him Our meals came out except mine and because of the short delay, they comped my entree. This was soooo nice and unexpected and I really appreciated it. The food was so delicious and the wait wasn't rly that much longer than my friends meals.everyone seemed so happy with what they ordered and i heard no complaints from my table at all. I would 100% come back for brunch and would also love to try out their dinner service because I'm sure it's delicious! Check this place out if you're in the downtown detroit area!
