20 stars! Shoshana is my hero because she sent a delicious 7 Layer cake (like the kind Bubby would make) and cinnamon buns to San Diego! Out of this world! Thank you!

I decided to try out this place again since it looks like it's under new ownership, recently?…read more I did come here several years ago and got a variety of donuts. The usual custard with the chocolate frosted top. Almost want try, now that they offer paczki, while available. The first attempt to get donuts was to get some paczki for Fat Tuesday a few months ago, but the box of dozen wasn't much of a savings than buying them individually. Was only $2 save for a box of dozen. Individual paczki $3.50, a dozen for $40. :/ Today I decided to grab a half dozen for our staff at the store. I got a glazed donut, apple fritters, custard with chocolate frosting, cinnamon roll, red velvet and a sour cream donut. Half dozen was $12, that's $2 a donut. Oh my. The apple fritter and the cinnamon roll donuts are rather big, that usually worries me, big donuts doesn't always mean it's better. The apple fritter was crunchy and textured, not mock apples and a lot of dough bumps, which isn't a bad thing. The cinnamon roll was big and billowy, got a big of the cinnamon flavor in the bullseye, but not much hint through the rest of the donut. The sour cream donut wasn't bad, it's not as sour cream or buttermilk flavored as I was hoping. The red velvet and glazed were decent. The custard chocolate was disappointing to me, the custard wasn't as good as I had hoped at all and rather sparse too. All of the donuts are light and fluffy as far as the dough, it's not bad.

That bright sign on Woodward isn't just a place to grab a dozen; it's part of the city's DNA. Growing up, my grandmother went there all the time. And when I say all the time, I mean ALL the time. Weekends, random afternoons, "just because" mornings -- Dutch Girl was the move. Some of my favorite childhood memories are walking in and being hit with that sweet, warm smell of fresh donuts and seeing the cases stacked with every kind you could imagine. It felt like magic as a kid. The donuts themselves? Classic, no-frills, done-right Detroit goodness. Soft, fresh, and generously glazed or filled -- the kind of donuts that don't try to be trendy or over-the-top. They don't need to. They've been holding it down for generations. That's the beauty of a true staple: consistency. You always knew exactly what you were getting, and it was always good. If I'm being honest, the only reason I'm not rushing there now is because I had SO many of their donuts growing up that I might have maxed out my lifetime quota . When you've had that much of something, you need a little break. But that doesn't take away from what they are to the city. Dutch Girl Donuts represents Detroit pride -- resilience, tradition, and community. It's one of those places that connects generations. My grandmother loved it, I grew up on it, and new families are still making memories there today. In a city that's all about loyalty and roots, Dutch Girl stands tall. Forever a Detroit classic.

Well, I must say that the donuts from here are truly amazing and stand out in terms of flavor compared to other donut shops. I understand why people were lined up outside when they reopened and I'm so glad they decided to open back up. I've come here 3 days in a row because the donuts are just that delicious. My favorite right now are the cinnamon roll donuts. You can't just get one, you have to get 2 in order to fill truly satisfied. They're open 24 hours so they're in there making donuts fresh all day long. My cinnamon roll was nice and warm when I came in after work... because who said donuts are only for breakfast? I can't wait to come back.it's conveniently located on Woodward Ave so it's easily accurate and not hard to find. Get here sooner than soon. You won't be disappointed. Get more than one donut!

I would much rather come here to checkout its collection of Japanese imported ramen packages on display, and I would also get some of their delicious boba. Other than that? Not much I could add. Grab a pizza from Crispelli's down the line, and then grab a freshly refrigerated Blossom Boba Tea on the way back. Great combo, and to me, that's the only thing this place serves to me. The donuts are insulso, period. Supported by only a good concept and sheer will for a fan base out in the real world. I like the idea of tearing apart bite sized Tim-bit-like balls, total reimagining of what a donut could be. I think it's cute; but does it serve me well? Not me, or my partner agrees. I don't hate it though. (3/5)
