Scones. Really good scones. Not bagels, cookies, cakes, donuts, biscuits, crumpets or pies. Just scones. That's what makes this place so good. It's so well hidden on Coolidge that when you enter the tiny retail "lobby" you feel like you must be part of a very small group that has discovered a hidden gem. Sure they make upwards of 12,000 scones a day to ship out all over the place, but if you drive by, you have to stop in and buy them at the source. The guy at the counter (Elwin?) was friendly and enthusiastic. Okay, fine. I lied. They have more than scones...They do soup now too. Homemade and frozen in a reheatable bowl so when you buy your morning scone, you can pick up a bowl to take to work and enjoy soup and a scone for lunch. Today was my first stop back in after a loooong time. The blackberry sour cream scone improved a rough morning and the barley mushroom soup + spinach cheddar scone were delicious and will probably keep me full for the afternoon. The soup and scone for lunch set me back a whopping $3.50. They also have specials I read about in a recent article in the patch: Baker's Happy Hour from 1 p.m. to close and Friday Freebees (stuff like buy-one, get-one deals and other bargains)

I am so excited that there will soon be a location on the west side of the state (on 28th Street). I will not have to go far to have delicious pastries and great coffee. This time around, I tried the macarons and coffee. I picked 6 different flavors and each one was so perfect. They were the perfect amount of soft and chewy. The service this time was still fast. However, unlike last time, the cashier was not as friendly. Nothing to deduct a star over. But they seemed like they were having an off day. I guess everyone is entitled to one of those days. The food and coffee were still excellent!

My favorite is still the ube cloud donut -- perfectly sweet, light, and satisfying without being overly rich. Most of the pastries are excellent and have that balanced flavor that keeps you wanting to try more. The honey lavender macchiato was also smooth and really well made. I also love the setup -- you grab a tray and tongs when you walk in, pick whichever pastries catch your eye, then bring them up to the register. There's plenty of seating space to gather with friends or hang out for a while. It also makes a great spot for birthday gift drop-offs or bringing someone a sweet treat

They had fresh chocolate croissants, almond croissants, ham and cheese croissants, a wall of bread loaves, Scones, personal quiches in many flavors, Danish, cookies, etc. I ended up buying more than I meant to, a chocolate croissant, an almond croissants, a ham and cheese croissants, and a quiche Lorraine. All amazing. The service was quick and friendly. I was even asked if I wanted my pastries warmed up. I did get a large coffee to go, as well. It wasn't the freshest cup, but tasty regardless. If your searching for quality pastries (and probably bread, too), just run here fast.

Most recently I bought a loaf of pepper parmesan bread - it was a huge hit at my house. It toasted up great. I've gotten the pastrami sub a few times, it's huge - at least for me - and I can get 2 lunches out of it. All of the pastries are delicious - it makes it hard to choose. The staff is super efficient, making for barely any wait time. It's clean inside, there are tables for eating in if you want, and there is generally just a nice atmosphere. Definitely a go to spot for a nicer loaf of bread or a yummy treat.

Delightful treats and local goods. I was able to snag one of the tiramisu tins before Christmas time. No, it was not for me to share with friends and family for Christmas, it was literally just for me, myself, and I. It took me a full week to eat it, and it was absolutely delightful from the first bite all the way to the last. I can't wait for these to come back - this time I just might consider sharing with friends and family.

I had to go back to go get my three croissants that I wanted ffirst visit. I got three loaves of the poppyseed, lemon bread, three chocolate chunk, banana bread, coffee cake, two breakfast sandwiches and three chocolate croissants. $64 + $19.50 The croissant loaf looks interesting, it' comprises of six croissant dough to make the loaf. The breakfast sandwich biscuit is quite good. The biscuit is a bit dry, but still flaky. The egg is light and fluffy and thick too. The coffee cake, lemon poppy seed, breakfast sandwich and chocolate croissant were all yummy. The lemon iced frosting is prominent and good. Not a huge fan of the nuts. The chocolate croissant is really good. Chunky blocks of chocolate. The croissant is super light and flaky. The Coffee cake is crumbly, slightly dry, but great with tea or coffee. The chocolate chunk is just okay, not my jam.
