I've only been here once before but located in the Stonebridge Shopping Center with parking lots and street parking around. I met up here with a friend and her son and we were sat immediately in one of the bar booths. Our server and bartender was busy but she was very friendly and provided great service. We made it just in time for happy hour and I ordered the Watermelon Mojito Marg which was pretty good. For an appetizer, I ordered the Whipped Feta and then the Shrimp Scampi on their February specials for dinner. The whipped feta was delicious and I loved all the options to use with it - the pita, the sesame crisls and cucumbers. The Shrimp scampi was also delicious and well seasoned. I had another drink - their seasonal bubbly sangria and that was very good. Would definitely recommend coming here and will be back to try the rest of their menu.

Dined in around 4pm on a Saturday, before the evening rush. Our waiter/server was polite and attentive! We ordered a poke bowl and a spicy burger. The burger itself was great and it was complimented with a cheesy-looking sauce on the side. They add a jalapeño pepper on top which definitely added a kick but didn't add to the flavoring. My wife got one of the poke bowls but the tuna's taste was a strange flavor. We ordered specialty soda drinks that were presented impressively which added to the first time experience.

Had a great meal with my bestie and goddaughter over the weekend. We were going for something light and decided to get several appetizers to share. Great idea! We had the ahi tuna wontons and opted for all wontons. They did offer a cucumber option which is great if you're focusing on carbs. We also got the whipped feta, chicken dumplings and cauliflower bites. All were really good! Our waiter was attentive to all the details which made the experience even better. Has was very patient when we were deciding, made great suggestions and offered to customize what he could. My goddaughter really enjoyed her Mac and cheese - it's hard to impress 6 yr olds but Not Your Average Joe did just that. The restaurant seems to be good to large and small parties. There was plenty of comfortable seating and a large bar section. Will definitely be back!

Food was okay. My family and I used to come here regularly a couple years ago, but we feel that the food quality has diminished. The bread was cold, chicken picatta bland, and the four cheese mac and cheese + buffalo chicken I will admit was good and I enjoyed it, but for what it was, it felt over-priced. We also enjoyed the steal and cheese egg rolls. Besides the food, our server Fernando was awesome as he was very attentive, checked in with us often, and connected with us a little. We can tell that he cares about his customer service.

This was my first time dining in and it was incredible. Our server was absolutely wonderful and the food was surprisingly better than I thought. Our server, Rossmary, was attentive when serving us. She refilled our drinks without us needing to ask, offered more bread anytime it got low, asked necessary questions like allergens and served us in a timely manner. I also noticed her placing our plates down using a cross method I've learned in finer dining restaurants. It could have been unintentional but if not, great job! Hosts were super welcoming as well. Will come again!

Great service, I sat in the bar booths. Bartender/server was friendly and personable. Casual atmosphere. In bar area several large tvs playing the games. Entree was fantastic. Lightly breaded and tender chicken. Dessert was just ok, I wouldn't get the tiramisu again, a little too cream cheese (think chunky) for me and not sweet enough. But was fun to try. Love that it was served in martini glass. Sign up with them for bday discount ($$ off bill), email said it doesn't expire either so that is nice!

The Burger - upgraded to sweet potato fries (which were thick, "meaty," piping hot out the fryer and delish!) - at the wholeeee thing

All in all, not a bad overall experience. Would give this place and their fare a solid 4 stars for a number of reasons. * Located in convenient and beautiful Potomac Town Pl in Woodbridge right off 95. LOADS of good restaurant options in this town center plaza. * THEY TAKE RESERVATIONS, say what?!! Yes they do and, if they do, why the heck wouldn't you make them? (All NYAJ's locs take reservs.) Especially during busy times like weekends. Just do it. They use Open Table. Tip: if you don't have an Open Table acct, call the restaurant directly to make reservs. Easy peasy - no muss, no fuss. * LOADS of convenient (FREE) lot parking allll around the plaza. Nothing is too far a walk. * A great place for groups and large gatherings - the restaurant is clean, neat, open, spacious and big. An abundance of booth seating but the front and middle section of the restaurant has tables that can be smooshed together. * A nice large sectioned-off bar area on the whole left side of the restaurant - they have happy hour prices for drinks and apps BUT ONLY IN THE BAR AREA. * They have a covered (thank goodness!) outside "patio" seating area on the side of the restaurant. * Think of this place like a notch above a typical American bar joint (ie Fridays, Chili's, Applebee's). Apps, burgers, samwiches, salads, steak seafood chicken entrees and pastas. SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. * LOVE LOVE LOVE their complimentary onion loaf bread slices with their AMAZING olive oil-garlic-red pepper-parm dipping oil! ADDDDDICTING no lie. The combo of the bread and dipping oil is just mind numbing. I could eat that all day every day. AND IT'S FREEEEEEEEE. Party of 3, we got there around 430PM on a Tuesday. We were the first ones there then shortly thereafter, there was a steady trickle of parties coming in. Service was excellent - our server was attentive and responsive. No issues with wait time for food to come out - we just enjoyed our wine and beer with our bread and dip while we waited. Entrees were all freshly made to order, burger and fish & chips came out piping hot and we enjoyed our entire meal. I've been to this NYAJ one time previously about 2 years ago and my assessment and review back then was the same as this second time - just a good solid place to gather and have a solid meal in a really open, pleasant dining environment. Prices are what you would expect for an American bar and grill type place. They do have specials and special meal promos as well as rotating menu items so definitely check those out. I like that NYAJ understands the plight of their customers having to deal with rising eating-out prices and wanting to provide value-priced options. (My one minor note of caution would be that when the sun is out full bore, sitting in the front area of the restaurant at the tables in front of the big picture window can be brutally hot! I don't believe they have a window shade on that front window that can be rolled down but that would be a nice upgrade for them.) Other than that, this NYAJ is a solid dining option.

The food was delicious as always. The portions were fair. My only complaint on the food was not getting bread. We had to ask twice for it and didn't get it until after we got our main course. Everyone knows their bread is the best part there, haha but oh well. Not a big deal but it just felt like we kept getting forgotten. It was busy but we got accommodated right away, so we appreciated that. It wasn't too loud and seating was comfortable. I'd be back to get them a second chance based off their food alone

The sirloin tips are always *chefs kiss* delicious. Also really love their mashed potatoes. This place is one of our ol faithfuls because of their menu options.

Contrary to the name, I felt like my experience was pretty average. Located in the Stonebridge shopping center. Plenty of parking spots in the lots located near the restaurant. Came here on a Monday evening, around 6:30 and were sat immediately. We didn't have any reservations but it didn't seem like we really needed it- lots of empty tables. Waitress was very kind but it took a while to get us things and fill water. The plate that we were given for appetizers was a bit dirty. The food was decent but on the pricier side. I did enjoy my mustard chicken and I guess they had good portion size. In terms of price, service, experience... I thought it was average. Maybe I'll try out their happy hour? I don't know if this would be at the top of my list to try again.

    Ahi Tuna Wontons
    Stephanie T.

We came in here for my office Christmas party and it was great. The waiter was super polite and made jokes with us the whole time. We ordered the bang bang shrimp and the ahi tuna appetizer and the ahi tuna was soooo good. Their focaccia bread and dip is also delicious! I ordered the meatloaf entree and it was okay, I Wasn't a huge fan of the cheese inside and it was a bit dense. The mashed potatoes were also kind of liquidy. Would definitely go back and try something else on the menu there were so many options!

    Turkey Avocado Club**
    N.J. R.

Nice place. My first time visiting after a recommendation. I was advised to ask for bread and their olive oil and parm sauce. It was very good. I ordered the Turkey avocado club w sweet potato fries. It was very good. I would order it again. Service was good. My server was responsive, fast, and knowledgeable. There is an outdoor seating option which this night was really nice but it wasn't offered and I didn't ask. I recommend this place and will go again.

Not bad, but not great either…read more The restaurant's ambience is truly modern and inviting. As someone who resides in Dumfries, this is a very welcome addition to upscale dining, and I was greatly surprised by the decor. I've visited many casinos locally and around the country, including Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, and I must say this restaurant's decor is on par with many of the other fine-dining restaurants. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all. In fact, there were only a few people at the bar and another couple who came in at the same time as us in the dining area. While someone would look at this and be very skeptical, I took it as number one. I was coming on a Sunday night around 5:30. Number two, it may be early for dinner, and number three. I could assure you that my food would come out hot. My server was excellent. The service was terrific, which I had heard was the most mixed part of the experience previously, due to staff turnover and inconsistent service levels for a fine-dining establishment. Akeara was fantastic, I mean, truly remarkable, and coupled with the excellent management and leadership of Veronica Keller, they made the dynamic duo who saved my dining experience. Akeara was very well-versed in the menu and sensitive to dietary restrictions when asked about many of the ways ingredients were prepared. She was invaluable and well-versed in preparation methods, as well as in drink pairings and menu options, to ensure we had a great culinary experience. The food I really enjoyed the calamari. It was fried perfectly. The two dipping sauces were fantastic. The rose salad is absolutely a star on the appetizer menu. I was a little skeptical about the crabcake because the way she described it sounded more like a fried crabcake than a pan-seared one. I think had she mentioned pan-seared, I would have likely gone with a crab cake, but I am certainly not disappointed in the calamari, and again, the salad was phenomenal. The steaks were a different story. I think they marinate the steaks, although I got different answers from the server and the manager when I asked; however, the steaks were a great cut. I saw someone get the bone in Tomahawk, which is presented nicely, hanging from a hook, with the Chef coming out to torch butter over the steak and vegetables beneath. I got the New York strip. It was a very, very lovely piece of meat. The New York strip was severely underseasoned. In fact, I had to ask for steak sauce, which is a cardinal sin of any steak restaurant. I think had they used a little more salt, pepper, and garlic to finish the steak It would've been perfect. The cook was absolutely perfect, medium rare. The seasoning was just off. I also got the risotto and short ribs. The short rib was well seasoned, though so much gravy from the short rib almost covered the entire plate of mushroom risotto. Tasty but just a little disproportionate in presentation. The bread basket was terrific, and the honey butter was nice, though the bread had a slight cheese flavor. It was still a really good combo. The baked potato is by far one of the best values on the menu as a side item. It was large. It was hot and fully loaded. The creamed spinach was a little more cream-cheese-forward, and it seemed like the spinach needed a little something else and seasoning, so it wasn't as bland. The desserts were another story: the toffee cake I thought would look like something I would get at Hell's Kitchen looked more like a very crumbly cornbread with ice cream on top. The vanilla ice cream tasted great, but the cake was just OK. The crème brûlée was on another level. It was fantastic, creamy, full of vanilla, and had a great crunch from the Brulé sugar on top. What really made this meal so good was the service. I talked with my server about my dissatisfaction with the two lobster tails: I did not appreciate being told they were pulled from the lobster shell, and they were served cold and rubbery. The server immediately jumped into action, spoke with the manager, and had the lobster removed from the bill. Thank you so much. But what really impressed me was the time that both the manager and my server spent at the table. Veronica was truly a pleasure to meet. As a military officer who has commanded hundreds and been responsible for thousands, she really hit it out of the park with her ability to problem-solve and immediately address issues as they arose. She was very engaging and really a pleasure to be with. This dynamic duo, who've only worked at this location for less than 5 months combined, really made me say I will come back to the restaurant, assuming they may have had an off night with seasoning and timing in the kitchen. If there's anything to take away, the food is OK (3 stars), the service from this dynamic duo was fantastic, and that's why they got the four stars.

I really want to give this a better review. We ate at 6pm…read moreon a Friday, no reservation. Seating was immediate and our water glasses were filled quickly. The table attendant? Was the best. Never had an empty water glass. Service was friendly but really slow and inconsistent. The server was attentive and accurate sharing how food could be ordered to accommodate food allergy. But I always felt like I was waiting. When a place is busy it is understandable when there are extended wait times, but there were only 4 other tables in our room. One table, seated after we ordered, had different specials explained by a different server. Again. Service was friendly but very slow. Food was not special. The short ribs were exceptionally salty. Risotto was creamy but lacked flavor. The special was Chesapeake Chicken, gluten free and ithoir any adjustments. That was great! But the dish was covered in sauce, overpowering the dish. Dessert included crème brûlée which was also GF and nice but just standard. Good wine menu with reasonable price per glass and standard but not noteworthy cocktail options. I'd prefer to give 4 stars but the price of dishes wasn't what you'd expect for the taste, but staff were friendly and we were fed without having an allergic reaction. On the way home we passed several options that had similar menus that had more flavor and more reliable service. I can now say I checked it Rose's Casino. As a midwestern gal with plenty of Iowa casino experience, this is nothing to write home about. Maybe next year.

Deluxe platter 5/5 - $34 One lobster tail, Couple Shrimps and Catfish or Whiting of choice plus 2 side. - Omg heaven in my mouth, the seafood was nice and crispy and thinly coated in crispy batter full of flavors. It honest can feed 2 person the amount you get. It was so good I had to pull over at an empty parking lot. The lobster and Shrimp was cook perfectly and not over cook. The catfish was lovely as well and i love that they use real catfish and not swai fish . I like it too not overly over cook, but flavor was on point comforting Turky Chilli $5 - I am not a Chilli girl because I don't like bean but for some reason, the way they make it so good, and they don't put too much bean bit fill with flavor will out being oily Jerk Chicken with 2 side $20- 5/5 Omg i love that they don't use the cheap part of the chicken like drumstick. The wing didn't have grill flavor aroma like you normally get with Jerk chicken but oh the flavor was packing with a hint of spiciness, but the meat was soft and falling of the bone it was amazing with yellow rice. It safe enough for peoples who don't eat spicy. Chicken Curry with 2 side over jasmine rice $20 5/5- Ok this one threw me off the loop went I first open the box. I thought it was curry chicken with potatoes and carrot, but it had chickpea instead. I was nervous it wasn't going to be good but I was truly wrong. It was perfect combo, full with turmeric flavor and chicken boneless meat. It was savory an addicting Banana Pudding $6- I cry eating this in bed it was heavenly perfect bring back memories of ex grandma banana pudding. It was so good and not overly too sweet like magnolia or wegman banana pudding. I hope one day I can ask them to just make me a tray to devour on a weekend. The banana was fresh and a wafer had crunch Lastly, I got lemon cake, it was divine and not overly sweet with great lemony flavor. Overall I hated that I love this place because I was going to start my new year diet. I can't find nothing negative to say about the foods. You can taste the love they put in the cooking to fill the soul. I will probably be coming back every week

It can get busy so reservations are recommended. The service is fantastic! They have a great team covering for each other and my coffee cup and water glass never went empty. Highly recommend the Monte Cristo. This is my favorite. The last one I had was so cheesy and delicious.

Friendly hosts greeted us and find us a seat on a late Sunday afternoon. Nice day gave us the option of courtyard seating or indoor cottage seating. Pleasant service team, great food and a wonderful cottage atmosphere makes this place a great place to stop for brunch. Korean BBQ Short Rib sandwich is a newer menu item. Flavorful, lots of rib meat filling and bread grilled nice and crunchy. It's delicious. Berry Almond French Toast is very good. If you have a sweet tooth for brunch, then do not miss this dish. Steak & cheese melt is a staple on this menu. Filled with nicely seasoned steak, grilled onions and a blend of cheese makes this dish a hearty brunch meal. From the host to the service team, everyone is very efficient and friendly. Pro Tip: use the Yelp waitlist feature on busy days.
