I just read some of the comments on here about the birthday challenge, and I just want to make some things clear: The birthday challenge is for regulars, and it's about 7 pints in a large Chimay glass, which is free if the person finishes it. It's 100% voluntary (I've never done it), usually needs to be asked for, and you're not allowed to do it unless you have a DD or taxi. I've seen a bunch of them done, never once under any pressure from bartenders or owner (makes sense, since it involves them giving away a TON of high-priced beer for free). The owner is a lovely woman who doesn't drink hard alcohol, so I have no idea who the 19-year-old party girl described was, but I've never seen anyone like that working there. I'm a regular, and I've literally never seen anything like what that person described. My advice: Don't drink 7 pints of beer anywhere if you don't want to get drunk. But if you're one of those people who want to drink a ton of beer on your birthday, the ones you'll get at FreeBridge will at least be excellent craft brews. Side note: If you're at all into craft spirits or meads, you won't find a better selection in the region. They have a full line of a more artisanal beverages than anyone could want.

I've been chasing good Belgian beer since my trip to Belgium two years ago, but nothing stateside has ever compared. Weyerbacher is, arguably, some of the best beer in PA, if not the entire country. Yep - I said it. Their brewery location is huge, with indoor and outdoor seating. Food is BYO, and there was an onsite food truck the day we visited. On the Saturday afternoon we visited, there was a man with a guitar who was very pleasant to listen to. I'm not one for loud music, but I found his playlist and musicality added to the experience. The bartender was super kind and personable, and there is plentiful parking onsite. The space is accessible, and there is merch, beer to go, and other fun things for sale - besides the rotating 20 or so beers on tap. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Weyerbacher.

Calamari was average 6/10... nothing super unique; Croquettes were at 4/10 (I do not recommended these very bland); Sundried Tomato Tartare 10/10... best thing we ate all night... this Tartare is a MUST TRY! The Pizza: The Bushwick without Speck... 7/10... I would order this again... super simple and cheese pizza with jalpeño & hot honey. The crust was just perfect not overdone or burnt! I would want to try other pizzas as well. I will definitely be recommending this to friends & family to try... and I will be back again!
