Hired this guy to do basic repairs on a house. Install new…read moreflooring, replace 2 toilets fix a couple of broken tiles and do some minor drywall repairs. Both toilets were installed incorrectly. The tiles he installed were not fitted properly. He got orange peel texture all over everything and didnt clean it up. We had to scrub the brand new floor for over an hour to get all the texture off of it and he didnt even install the floor correctly and it started coming up less than a week after he put it in. On top of everything, he quoted us a 10 - 15% mark up on materials and when i finally forced him to hand over the receipts when i threatend to drag him into court i saw that he was trying to charge us a 75% mark up on some of the materials and he didnt even purchase the flooring. He used flooring that he had left over from another job. The guy was actually dumb enough to confess that to my face. Stay clear of this creep. He is a thief and a con artist. They went through everything and did an inventory of everything that they could find, they cleaned and deodorized items that were important to us and shared the inventory with us for insurance purposes. They worked closely with our insurance and started the demo phase within 2 weeks of our fire. They were not only very thorough in making sure we got what we had before the fire in terms of special features in our home, but they were also very sensitive to the fact that this fire was devastating to us. When I wanted to change a few things, they were great to work with and their prices for changing things were reasonable. They even did some extra work that the builder who originally built the home didn't do, and they did a great job. Josh, Gary and Theresa have all been amazing to us, and we couldn't be happier with the job that they did. We are moving back into our home now and it's even better than it was before! APPARENTLY padding and inflating an estimate and not communicating with the examiner or myself to resolve the estimate disagreements, before anything is done, tells me if you do not want the estimate, bombard it with as much ridiculous billings so as to sabotage the estimate with the insurance company and then blame the insurance company for the failure to agree and get out of the job without looking bad or get bad reviews. I have verified noncommunicative with all and that is a big red flag. Contractors in Alaska can be flaky, lack intergrity, just not worth having any communication. VERIFIED!
