Hands-down the best prices in Alaska. I have been searching for a quality hardwood that can withstand the Winters here in Alaska. First I went to a local source: Kozy Interiors. For the hardwood I was interested in, it was going for $9.19 /square foot. I spoke to a Sales Rep at SBS and they quoted me $7.00/ square foot for the same flooring. Our transaction first started with Sav-On Flooring April, 25 2016. Our first complaint, with attached photos was sent to Malorie June 28th, 2016. It is now October 10, 2016 and the job still remains unfinished. My husband and I bought our first home in May and chose Sav-on Flooring to replace all the flooring in our 2283sq foot house, costing close to $13,000.00. Our house was treated as a warehouse, cigarette butts left outside in our yard, feces left all over the bathroom toilet/toilet seat, prep work materials left on the walls, sinks and door knobs. My husband and I had offered our garage for the purpose of cutting wood, our entire garage was covered in saw dust which then was carried into our house and never cleaned up. Not only did they cut wood in our garage but they also cut wood inside our new house which left saw dust covering our new and very expensive furniture. We went through two sets of installers, both of which were never on time and had numerous times where they, would "no call/no show." My work schedule as a nurse is twelve hour shifts, a week on/week off. There were two times that I woke up one-two hours early just to have myself and our son prepped before the installers arrived. Both of those occasions, the installers never showed up. My husband and I are very reasonable people, but when these types of behavior become repetitive not only is it unprofessional but it is disrespectful. Malorie and Laura did their best in the beginning to fix this situation. In July we were beyond disappointed in the services provided by the second set of installers, we requested for Malorie as the store manager, to come to our house and view the areas of poor craftsmanship. This never happened, instead she wanted to refund us for a portion of the labor which is unacceptable. There are still areas in our house that have not been completed. Since Malorie's last email, we have received a quote from another flooring business in town who made us aware that the material in three out of the four bedrooms, the stairs and areas of the living room will not be salvageable. Hence, there is no other way of fixing them other than replacing everything. I am also going to point out that both of us work full time and are also students. I had to drop one of my classes this summer due to the extra unneeded time that was taken away from me to write emails to try and fix this flooring disaster. On top of this we have shared custody with our son. Making our time with him that much more irreplaceable. We chose to cancel two family camping trips this past summer because those times were more convenient for the installers. Unfortunately, both of those times the installers never showed up, as they promised they would. In the long run you will not be saving any money using this company.
