Where to begin, the apartments are a little run down, but for the price it cant be beat.
We will ignore day 1 where I spent a day cleaning my house before I unpacked. Due to left over filth, the carpets worn because its a cheap place you get what you pay for.
Ok so let me start with
1) I am never late on my rent
2) I keep a tidy home, and I don't abuse my apartment or appliances.
3) I will sooner live on the streets than rent from these people again.
4) Because of this review they will (as they have others) give me a bad review for my next
rental despite me being a good tenant.
That being said the apartments, last year there was mold growing on the building, so to fix this, don't test or remove it, just paint over it! That'll do!
I went in to ask for a parking space transfer, I was in good spirits but I noticed kids often throwing rocks by where I was parking, and since property management doesn't care to address this, as it isn't their issue.
Ok, so I go in and I am offering to pay any fees that would incur for the swap but I WAS in a good mood our conversation made me upset pretty fast. When I asked I was told
"Thats a royal pain in my a**, NO!"
*sigh* well I don't drive a junker car and I pay for these spaces, but ok fine, I bit my lip and walked out, assuming maybe he had a bad day.
Boy was I wrong: this is a short list of SOME of the issues I had with my interactions with this rental office.
1, Old fridge inside is BRITTLE, they use a screw in the side of it (instead of a proper repair)
Slum lords is how most would define this repair.
2. Heaters in the house one has a core burnt up from the previous tenant (as I hadn't used
these yet or they might be old), they tried to blame me for this.
3. Stove top burner goes out, who's fault? you guessed it tried again to blame me. Unable to
charge me for the repairs, because I wasn't at fault despite accusations that were made to
make me feel like a child while in my home!
These things made me really uncomfortable with their maintenance man in my home. Right? Everyone loves that!
4. Later again with the parking, at this point I had to send my car in TWICE to the body shop,
because of the issues with rocks. So I again go in and ask, and after pleading my case he
agrees! It took him literally 1 min to address this issue that took me a YEAR to convince
him of my need. Despite the $1200 in repairs to my vehicle.
5. OK here for number 5, by the time everything was said and done I was a bit heated and pretty unreasonable, wishing I could fling flaming bags of poo at his shop! So I had an issue I was trying to address with the office, I honestly don't remember the issue that started it. Nothing major but something. I just remember asking.
I said:
"Don't you treat your customers fairly or with respect"
and their response.
"You're not a customer JUST a tenant, you can leave now."
Things/Notices I have noticed that did NOT involve me here but for others at the complex:
1. No sidewalk chalk
2. No bikes in the parking lot (but soccer balls off the hood of your car is!)
3. 3 lawsuits for unjust evictions.
4. 2 evictions for noise when they lived next door to me and I never heard a peep!
5. No AC units in the apartment windows (no swamp coolers guys) and these heat up in
summer 100+ inside this year with 2 portable ac units inside purchased by me.
6. Put nothing on any within 3ft of their heaters. (ok this is reasonable if MOST rooms except
where to put my dresser in my room and my sons, so we just don't use those heating units
the rooms are TOO small.
7. Drug dealers and probation kids, I know but can't prove one of the long term neighbors is a
dealer, and I know of at least 2 children under 18 on probation here. The rest of the
tenants are lovely. But this is only 12 units.
The reason I am moving out.
So the lawn care guys they have working, most are pretty chill. Good people, however one day I am looking out my window and my car is here and with piles of leaves, sticks, and small rocks they are blowing over the driveway directly onto my car!
This DID cause damage, nothing I cant buff out, but that is a lot of money $200 for the buffing If I can't fix it on my own.
But I did run out and got in between the leaf blower and my car, and told them it would cause damage, they NEXT DAY I got my Termination of Tenancy (this is 2 almost 3 years at this place)
This isn't an eviction notice, its a "Just Cause" to let us go.
I have never left another bad review about a landlord before, but I feel like people should know what they are getting into here.
Oddly even though money is tight and moving is rough, I am relieved to be away form these scamming people. read more
