This place rocks!! I was trudging South back home to Joshua Tree a couple weeks ago from Hyder, AK. I started to hear my chain smacking around as I passed through Shingletown. It sounded like the chain was about to snap right off. I thought, better to have it checked out before I'm away from service deep in the backcountry roads and mountains. As I was pulling out of Chico, I just happened to roll by Northstate Power Sports. They told me my back sprocket was "shark-toothing" and my chain was about to go. They didn't have the part, but spent the time to call around to all the other shops to see if they could find it. Nope. So just as I was on the phone with another shop 70 miles out, Eric, one their incredible mechanics just happened to be clocking in and asked what's wrong with my KLR. I told him what he could plainly see and about the misfortune that no one near by had the part. Then he says, " I might have what you need." I'm sure I looked suspicious, but then he told me he rides a KLR and had the stock back sprocket laying around which he'd be happy to help me with if it fit. It did!! He had me back on the road in a couple hours with a fare price for labor, a smile and a restored belief that their are angels of the road out there. Thank you Eric!! read more

Took my 2014 Suzuki V Strom DL1000A in for new fork seals they did a great job, just wish they could do the valve adjustment on my 2017 KTM SDR 1290 but i guess it takes some special tools, that they don't have because they are not a KTM dealer, i would recommend the service department, fast & friendly work done in the timeframe they gave me. read more

This is an update from a previous post. I just completed a ride from Seattle Washington to the Bay Area on my CT110 towing a trailer. The route was via acceptable roads for a non-approved highway motorized scooter. The bike performed flawlessly confirming all pervious service issues with this dealership had been resolved. Particularly regarding starting I can't remember a time when the bike didn't start with the easiest push of the starter peddle. Were it not for serious issues regarding compentency in the beginning I would rate this service department "excellent". Because the owner did eventually step up and handle business I want to amend my overall rating as "good". Had the worst experience at northstate power sports. Took my bike in for a few little things tires, rear master cylinder rebuild, chain. After a month I call to see how's it going and they never ordered anything for the bike, I go in to make sure they ordered it. Get a call a week later saying the clutch is bad and it won't idle run right. Asked them if they could go ahead and fix it. I went back after another month of waiting and nothing was ordered again. Definitely a communication problem so I told them to stop what there doing. I got the bike back and it had the fuel/air screw six turns out with a 38 pilot screw and when stock is 50 they said it was running lean and I have a vacuum leak. I got charged for 3hrs for someone not knowing what they were doing. I went to pick the bike up and the owner went to hide. Very unprofessional, Shows what kind of shop this is. Would never trust these people or take any of my bikes there again. Just another rich kid trying to run a motorcycle shop!!! read more

I purchased a 2023 Goldwing Tour DCT from Northstate Powersports last year. Due to no fault of the staff it took an extended time for the bike to actually get to the dealer. The staff were great with staying in contact with me and giving me updates on when the bike would arrive. Today I was having a hard time adding an accessory plug to the bike and stopped by for some advice. The service staff stopped what they were doing, had me pull my bike in and took care of the problem within ten minutes. They then noticed that the parking brake was not adjusted properly and adjusted it for me. I was out of there in 25 minutes and they didn't charge me for their time. I am very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism from the entire staff at Northstate Powersports!!! read more

I searched online to find an Arctic Cat servicer and there are very few. I called Northstate Powersports yesterday and spoke with Daniel, all I needed was a carburetor rebuild kit and I needed it quickly as I am leaving for a trip in 2 days. Unfortunately, I live over 3 hours away from Chico, so Daniel looked up the kit and gave me the part number so I could source it form another local company (that doesn't sell or service Arctic Cat) he also searched the west coast Distibutors to find which one had the kit readily available so I could tell my local dealer which company to order it from. Talk about customer service, I have never used Northstate Powersports for anything and they went above and beyond to help me. I know this sounds trivial, but they literally saved my family ATV trip and made $0 while doing so. The next time I am looking to make a purchase, Nothstate will be my first stop. This is the absolute best place in Chico to get any and all motorcycles serviced. Even though I only own Yamaha and Suzuki sport bikes, I make it a point to go here instead of Chico Motorsports. The staff here is friendly, informative, and charismatic. The service here is quick, reliable, and very reasonably priced. They value not only your business, but your wellbeing. I bought my 2015 honda shadow phantom here. It was my first bike I've ever bought or owned. The staff was very helpful in orienting me to this machine and was very amicable. Their service department was stellar and was able to get my bike in for its first service even though there was a scheduling error. There store offers great products at nearly competitive prices (hard to compete with amazon) but if your like me, and lie to touch, feel, and hold something before purchase, you won't feel like your being duped by the sticker price. Don't take an old motorcycle here. I will start by stating my bike was left here for 3 months and they forgot to fix it. I thought they were closed because of COVID, but it turns out they just weren't working on it the entire time. I took my 1976 4 stroke here 3 times to have the carbs fixed and they charged me three times (total of about $500). After the third time taking it here for the same issue, they finally told me that I had 2 stroke carbs and that it would've been smart to replace them from the beginning. One of the mechanics forgot what I dropped the bike off for, and got pissed when I told him he didn't fix the issue. The service manager told me that he doesn't let a bike leave the shop until it is up to his standards: my bike died on the way home... seriously bad businessmen. Ask for Rob if you have to take your bike here, he will be straight up with you at least. read more

I took my rear shock in to get rebuilt because they guaranteed they could get it done within the week. After checking on its status mid-week I found out that they hadn't even started on it yet. Then they were gonna charge me an extra $150 to overnight the $60 part. So I canceled the order and was able to order the same parts for a total with overnight shipping for $60 and do it myself within 2 days. They are lazy. Do not rely on them for good customer service! read more

Just bought a CRF250L here and had a great experience. Wyatt gave me his full attention without giving me any pressure, he then set me up with a test ride and even stayed late over an hour after closing so that I didn't have to come back the next day. I didn't catch his name, but the guy familiarizing me with the bike was very knowledgeable and had a good answer for any questions I had. Called to ask for a quote on hydraulic fluid change(brake fluid ) got quoted at 170$. I thought 170$ (excluding parts) was an unfair rate for an elementary job. Ended up googling brake fluid change and got the job done in an hour with 10$ in parts. Was hoping to have this be my goto spot ,but after this experience I wouldn't want to find out how much they charge for an actually complicated job. read more

I like dealing with one individual throughout the entire process, instead of being handed off from one person to another (and the inevitable upselling) like the mega-stores do. Communication was quick, phone calls were returned and followed with a confirming email. I waited to post this review until I had interacted with the Service Department. I brought in a 02 520 KTM in to have the shop estimate a full rebuild, split case, new timing chain, piston, and everything else that can be serviced on dirt bike. These guys did a phenomenal job rebuilding this bike! Considering this it came in to the shop not running, drooling oil and with two boxes of parts. The price for the work was very fair. I don't know of any other mechanic that would have even touched this project....I highly recommend Chico Honda! These guys rock! read more

Got the best price in all NorCal for a new Husqvarna TC85 motorcycle (trust me, I called everyone, even KTM dealers for 85's). I drove up from the Bay Area and they opened the shop on Sunday so I could pick it up and my son could go ride his new bike with me in the nearby mountains. Owner Gabe provided me with the best moto experience for a dealer shop I have ever been to, and I have been to many, including in SoCal, and the East Coast. We were able to buy a bunch of parts at discount, and he had a large array of products not normally stocked at most if not all other dealerships.
