I was told the vet watched her but he said he had to leave early to take his wife to the hospital. it was illegal for him to let her do the surgery by herself. He said he watched her the entire time. THEN WHY DID HE NOT DO IT HIMSELF IF HE HAD THAT KIND OF TIME I HAD NOT GIVEN PERSMIISION FOR ANHYONE ELSE TO DO THE SUGERY. I went back again I said my cat is not well, They said she won't have to eat or drink water for three days NOT TRUE one of the vet assistance was like a mad dog ( I love dogs but this was nuts) staring me down there to protect her and agreed. At three am my cat was drinking tons of water I rushed her to emergency where the doctor said she had almost no electro lites and was trying to supply them by drinking she could not! she was on deaths door. She said did they not give her an IV this was wrong who monitored this cat? I said I don't know when I called the vet he would not refund me, he was sweet but it was an act, I deserved to b e paid for. both the surgery and the emergency hospital, I should have taken them to small claims court but I was so upset I could not write this review until. now. This place and his too sweet response was an act I believed he has many years of being this way but when his vet made a mistake she didn't take responsibility. He said he had to leave his wife was sick and he had to take her to the hospital (oh sympathy for him now) well if she is that sick call an ambulance. Yep everyone loves this vet but he did not take financial responsibility for his mistake and the emergency hospital notes mention. the surgery was not right. (in medical terms ) they have Mal practice I submitted it to them they said they passed it along but I never heard back they simply evaded responsibility. Overpriced babysitters: Moved from down south and attempted to schedule routine care for my animals…read more(no luck), all appointments were only available to be booked on an "emergency" basis where the receptionist insisted you call the morning of to see if they have availability (aka they're ensuring they can collect the "emergency" fee despite the fact that you were trying to schedule an appointment for over a week.) Next, I was charged over $500 for an emergency appointment for a suspected abcess (I specifically requested radiographs, blood work, etc....the original visit did not include radiographs and they said after watching the dog all day and guaranteeing that they gave him a full "check over" and he had a full bill of health ....when I picked the dog up, they told me they had not conducted the radiographs like I originally requested and that without "sedating the dog" it would be impossible (this is complete BS. Dog is non-aggressive, 100% cooperative, and Sedating an Animal for any procedure is always the LAST RESORT!!! Sedation can cause more issues and it is not necessary to gather the required images.) So I picked up my dog and paid the $600+bill thinking he actually had a full work up....Nope, most of that bill was the upcharge for absolutely nothing. Said nothing, paid the bill and tried to leave the office, only for the receptionist to start recommending a bunch of other services and vaccinations....that should have been covered during the $600 examination I paid for. Not while I'm walking out the door....I also paid for blood work. I have yet to receive a print out, call back, or any results regarding the blood work. I actually know how to read all of the requested reports and want to see them for my own records.......Something tells me, I paid $250+ for bloodwork they never actually conducted....how would I know? They dog had no evidence of having blood drawn when I picked him up and they have yet to provide the results months later....but I digress. (That is animal #1) I called again today to attempt to schedule an emergency euthanashia or appointment for my senior dog who is in active pain. They had the audacity to act shocked that I would expect them to have avaliability on short notice, stated they wouldn't be able to schedule me for a week out, and referred me to a clinic two hours away from me. When I told them a 22 was more humane than redirecting your clients to a clinic two hours away or delaying care for over a week.... They had the audacity to act like they did not know what I was talking about.. So in short....No this office does not care about making sure they are there for you and your animals in their time of need. I have seen better bedside manner in the morgue.....I literally work at the morgue. They do have a beautiful facility, but if they're more interested in up charging clients to keep up the facade of a curb appeal rather than ensuring their client's needs are met...that's sad. At this point in time, the best solution I have found to finding reasonable Vet care for my animals is to load them up and drive them South to California.

If people feel criticized by that kind of information, there are plenty of conventional vets in town who you will feel more comfortable with. But if you want the best information actually based on science, then Dr. Heaslet is who you want to see. But the very best thing about Dr. Heaslet and her team is the truly caring, friendly attitude they maintain with their patients and patients' owners. I don't know how they are able to do that day in and day out over so many years, but they do it every time. It is obvious that Dr. Heaslet and her staff truly love what they do, and they really go above and beyond to give the highest level of care. We took our large English Mastiff in for deep abscess/possible brown recluse spider bite on his foot. My husband is trained as EMT, so he can be oddly picky about all doctor and vets. Loved our vet. Recommended reasonable plan that was also reasonably priced. They were able to X-ray our dogs foot without using sedative. I know that seems normal but often vets want to automatically sedate a dog over 150lbs - very glad they recognized the calm nature of our big guy.
