My husband gets stuff cleaned here a lot, and has no complaints. However, I had him drop off a dress of mine to get cleaned. The dress is knee-length and very lightweight (silk crinkle chiffon) with sturdy tank straps and ribbon loops under the arms, so it's pretty easy to put on a hanger and have it stay put. They seem to have dry-cleaned it, then (for no reason that I can fathom) used two huge, grimy, lint-covered safety pins to attach it to a cardboard dress form, the type you would hang a strapless wedding gown on.
So, my silk dress now has 4 holes in the overlay, and I had to physically remove the lint & debris that were left on the dress by the safety pins. (See photos.) Oddly enough, they did nothing of the sort to the spaghetti-strap polyester cocktail dress that we dropped off at the same time - it was hung on a normal hanger with no pins, even though its straps are much flimsier and it has no loops to stabilize it on the hanger. Both dresses are classified as "fancy" on the receipt, so who knows what their reasoning was between the two dresses...
So... while they have always done a great job with men's suits, jackets, & sweaters, and they did a fine job with my cheaper dress, I wouldn't trust them with a nice dress ever again. I guess you could take a gamble on them and just ask that they not put any pins in your dress, since that doesn't appear to be their normal MO. read more
