Every interaction we had with the company was positive. From the salesman, to the office staff, to the installers every interaction was positive. After contracting with them, I had several phone conversations with them about color changes that my wife wanted, and they were always willing to accommodate us, and make the requested changes. There was a slight misunderstanding about the bathroom window on the day they showed up to begin the job but a phone call to the office quickly resolved the issue, and things progressed as planned. The workers were polite, and they treated our property with care & respect. Once the job was complete, they walked the perimeter of our house and garage with magnets to pick up loose pieces of metal, and any other debris that was laying around. Overall, their cleanup was on point. We've received a number of compliments from our neighbors on the work that was completed, and one of our neighbors contracted with Modern Xterior/The Modern Pros as a result of the work they did on our house. It's now been a year since the work was completed, and everything is holding together nicely, and still looks great! We certainly recommend Modern Xterior/The Modern Pros for home repairs & improvements

Do not hire this company. We had nothing but trouble getting the job done. We were given multiple…read moredays of coming to do the job and it was changed at least three times. They misrepresented the quality of the shingles. We were told they were the same quality as we had and they weren't. We ordered one color and later told we had to order another color. Our neighbor used the same company and we were assured they were not waiting to do both jobs on the same day. We had our order in ahead of theirs and guess what, both were done in one day. My husband had to go over to the roofers and say, we are first. We were charged for the dumpster rental as was our neighbors and we shared the one dumpster. It was just one thing after another with this company. When the roofers finally showed up the job they did was so-so. There were ripples in the roof edge and we asked them to fix it. It was because we had metal gutter guards on our gutters. So instead of taking the time to do the job correctly, they cut them! Yes, cut them. It voided our warranty and ended up costing us an additional $475 to replace them. Roof Advisor offered to install some cheap plastic ones, telling us that was industry standard and my own research proved that to be untrue. They would have been down the street the first storm we had. By the time the roofers arrived I had lost all confidence in this company, but the supplies had been sitting on our roof for weeks. The supplies were delivered, the shingles put on the roof and the accessories next to the house. It was taking so long after delivery my senior husband had to move it to the garage so it wouldn't be damaged or stolen. It was over two months from the first date we were given until the poor work was done. No permits were filed and we had to ask for that to be done. We had to remind the roofers that the vent needed to be installed, they were in the dumpster. There was poor communication, poor salemanship, poor information related, and just a poor company in all. The company who came to replace the gutter guards said we should send a copy of the bill to Roof Advisor because it was appalling what they did. No reputable company would do this. So, there you have it. No, we did not send the bills because we know it would do no good. Save yourself the aggravation and go with another company.

However.... I also asked for a siding estimate and was told he would call me back later that night or the next day with the estimate. After 10 days and 3 calls from ME to him, I FINALLY got a return call on a Friday night at 8pm with the estimate, and the explanation that "the siding guy was out of town on a funeral and he couldn't get a hold of him..." - While I thought it was a little unprofessional that he didn't call me to update me on that, I decided ...ok a funeral - I'll give the benefit of the doubt on that, and I told him that I'd like his company to do the roofing and siding. He told me that he would get in touch with me in the next couple of days after he got a date from the siding guy. That was May 2 (which I'm sure he can confirm on his googlevoice) I called several times in the 2 weeks following, and always got sent to voice mail, somtimes it didn't even ring 1 whole time and he sent my calls directly to voicemail - NEVER returning my calls once (I ALSO have googlevoice, so i CAN confirm this...) Finally after 2 weeks, I decided that even if he did return my call, I couldn't trust him to be reliable and I was going to seek out additional estimates and find a new company... which I did, and had my roof done (by Demoss and Sons for more than $1000 LESS too actually) just 2 days after I had the estimate and signed the contract !! Much better!!! So I'm thinking this guy must not have wanted my business, I told him I WANTED TO HIRE him, and he totally blew me off. Believe it or not on May 30, literally 28 DAYS AFTER I called and said I'd like his company to do the roof/siding he calls me and leaves a nonchalant voicemail saying "Hey this is Reed with Murrays, just calling to see if next week would be an ok time to start your project" - SERIOUSLY???? 28 DAYS LATER!??!?? Why would you even bother calling me back at this point?!?? What kind of customer service is that??? HORRIBLE!!! If you can't count on them to call you back after you've expressed that you WANT to hire them.... how can you count on them to show up and get the job done correctly!!! I wouldn't hire them even if you paid me!!

If I'd known how easy it was, I would have done it earlier. We got 4 bids, from 37,000 to 12,000. We learned a lot from the various reps. ASR was the only one that could answer all our questions-though we only learned the questions by talking to a bunch of people. My property was actually cleaner when they left. The house feels so tight now, looks great. One thing they don't tell you, it is LOUD, especially in a ranch.

Had a roof installed by ASR approximately 13 years ago under my father's name. He passed away…read morethree years after the installation. I recently contacted ASR to request copies of the original contract and warranty. I was told that neither document was available because of a software system change. The only record I received was a receipt showing the installation date and amount paid, and even the last name on that receipt was spelled incorrectly. The lack of the original contract and warranty makes it difficult to verify what work was performed, what materials or terms were included, and what responsibility ASR accepted for the installation. Providing only an incomplete receipt was not an adequate substitute for the original documentation. During the same conversation, the representative told me that the warranty had to be transferred within one year of my father's death. However, I had no way of knowing that ASR had installed the roof until recently, after contacting numerous roofing companies in an effort to identify who had performed the work. I also contacted the city and was told that there is no roofing permit on file for my address. I understand that permit records can depend on the age and circumstances of the work, but the absence of any permit record adds to my concerns about the documentation and history of the installation. The lady representative stated that she had sent the receipt to my home. After waiting approximately three weeks without receiving it, I called back to follow up. I spoke with another employee to determine whether there might be additional information on file and to ask whether my name could be added to my deceased father or have the existing records transferred to me. Rather than assisting with that request, the original lady representative (3 months on the job) was on the phone line with the current representative (3 way call) and accused me of "going behind my back" by speaking with another employee. Her response was unnecessarily hostile, rude and unprofessional and made a reasonable attempt to resolve the matter feel like a personal confrontation on her. I was left feeling dismissed rather than helped. I understand that records can be affected by software changes and that warranties may have specific transfer requirements. However, the missing contract and warranty, the incorrect information on the only receipt provided, the unclear warranty/transfer process, the lack of a permit record, and the poor customer service together left me extremely disappointed. I expected a company that installed such an important part of my home to maintain accurate records and respond to legitimate customer concerns professionally. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to recommend American Standard Roofing.
