Without a doubt the best Thai place in KW. The green curry is the epitome of coconut goodness. I'm not a fan of overwhelming coconut flavours, but their curry had just the right amount for me, with all the other vegetables and seafood mixed in. Really great authentic Thai food. Also the interior is wonderfully decorated and adorn with elephants. It's a complete flip from it's run-down exterior. read more

the pad Thai is to die for, and reasonably priced. it's the only thing I get because its all I want.... read more

Northern Thai - pad thai - Thai Near Me - Kitchener, Ontario

Cute little place. I got a panang curry with Chicken and it was really good. There was a lot of food in the plate, which was good. The service is good and fast. read more

The food is pretty authentic! Definitely the best Thai food in KW! I like their Pad Thai, green curry, pad see ew (although I was excepting flat rice noodle). The service is a little bit slow. I need to wave hands to get my order taken and get my water refilled. Overall, a nice place to go if you are craving for Thai food!! Will definitely recommend it to my friends!! read more

I didn't like the pad thai when I started eating it, but by the end I was obsessed. It haunts my dreams. Sadly I will probably never be in this city again, so all I can do is recommend it to any Yelper that wanders in. A really pleasant little place with great food. read more

Damn good. A very humble spot with amazing panang dishes. The best I ever had other then a place at Hilo. Will surely visit again.

Very good food, cozy environment, and decent price.

This is the best Thai food in town. The value is fair and the taste is authentic. I haven't had everything on the menu but I'm a big advocate of the pad thai and green curry. If I had one area of improvement, it would be in reference to the portioning of the meals. I find the portion aren't consistent based on who's cooking and serving. Another area of improvement is the fact that they don't always honour their store hours of operation. That can be disappointing at times. As well the quantity and consistency varies with each trip. This would be the other downfall. read more

This was some of the most authentic Thai food we have found. We sampled the traditional lunch for two, green vegetables, mango smoothie, mango sticky rice and green tea ice cream. This fed our family of four without an issue. Reviews said the food was good and we were not disappointed! Service was attentive, friendly and they welcomed our two small children. The place was very clean and cozy inside, but if you were not looking for it, the store front is unassuming. Would definitely go back and recommend it! read more

I was very unimpressed with my takeout experience. Ordered the food and they said it would be 15 minutes. Showed up nearly 20 minutes later and the guy at the front said he'd "forgotten" to put the order in. Had to wait 10+ minutes more, with no apology. They forgot my larb salad, to boot. The coconut chicken soup was perhaps the most disappointing; yummy broth but NO chicken at all (only 4-5 mushrooms). We won't be back. read more

Average food at best. Satay is good, but I've had way better. If you want great Thai keep searching. At least they have workers that speak Thai, that boosts the confidence level a bit. Staff are friendly and restaurant is cozy. Food could be better. read more

Some authentic Thai food! Randomly came here with a friend and it was a pleasant experience. One of Kitchener's hidden treasures for sure. Would recommend the pad Thai, and Thai iced coffee. Prices are also reasonable. Definitely will return! read more

Having lived in Downtown Kitchener for a little while, I've always wanted to try this place down by Queen & Charles. I decided to come here one day with a friend of mine for a late lunch. We both decided to order the Pad Thai ($9.50) for lunch and my goodness were the portions huge. The dish had the right mix of flavour and saucy and I certainly had a hard time finishing the plate. To my delight, they did not skimp out on the shrimp, chicken and peanuts. The service itself was good but slow at times. This was partly due to the waitress having to tend to several large groups with their bills. Once that was out of the way, she was quite attentive to our table. All in all, it is a hidden gem that might not catch your eye at first but its quality and atmosphere would leave you wanting to return. read more

Hands down best Thai food around! Green curry is perfect, fresh rolls are a delight and the chicken coconut soup is something I crave almost daily! So delicious :) read more

Very delicious food! Both the green curry and the pad thai were great! I would definitely come here again ... just not if I had to get anywhere after the meal. The service we got was courteous but quite slow - AND we were lucky to be the first ones in the restaurant for lunch. I can't imagine how long the other people had to wait. If they could improve the speed of their service, they would definitely rate 5 stars! read more

For sure this is among the top Thai food I've ever had. Just do yourself a favour and go eat here.

Pad Thai is consistently good, everything else we've ordered has been tasty, too. Decor needs updating, but it's really the best Thai place in KW. read more

The padthai and papaya salads are amazing! The people who work in the restaurants are really nice. The place is also very clean and neat. ( ‿ ) read more

Our initial visit definitely had us making plans to return. The spicy beef was excellent and so was the mango chicken. Their Pad Thai is supposedly a specialty dish there and can't wait to try it out. The Tom Kha Gai was definitely made in-house and was quite nice. The only thing not top notch was the Mango Sticky Rice as the mango was quite green, so next time it would be best to ask about ripeness before ordering. Therefore my rating would be more of 4.5. The atmosphere was quiet, warm and inviting. read more

This place is ridiculously good. The Tom-Yum soup excellent. Among the best I've ever had. Imagine the best Thai soup you've ever had......Its better than that! read more

Been there too many times to count. Great food... sometimes takes a while because they have a small restaurant and lots of people. You will get addicted to their curries and sticky rice. read more

This is my favourite thai spot in town. It is a little hole in the wall that never disappoints. The pad Thai is one of the best I have ever had. Truly delicious with great service. read more

Great food an great service. The best place to get Thai in Kitchener. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but the mechanic across the street is closed at night, so I usually park there. read more

Really great sweet tofu and veggies. Good veg pad Thai. Fast Super service. The wallpaper is spectacular! It looks like buttons! And purple!

I ordered delivery. They charged $7.50 for credit card at the door and delivery to Waterloo, which I was willing to pay. The driver showed up with a bag in his hand, and apologetically said "something spilled". The bottom of the bag was filled with sauce. The food was passable, but extremely stingy -- e.g. 3 tiny shrimp in the shrimp tom yum soup. I called and politely explained what happened with delivery. Response: "OK. Goodbye." Will never give them my business again. EDIT: I was so disappointed that I created a Yelp account. read more

Great food for good value! Best Thai curries in KW! Pad Thai is good. Service is prompt and friendly. Cozy atmosphere. read more

Good Thai food, doesn't offer some other popular dishes that restaurants in Toronto may offer, however still a good place for some Thai.

Amazing food! Prices are great too, my meal was only $10. I had the curry and was not disappointed.

Best Thai food in KW. Cozy atmosphere.

Ordered the chicken satay and the four flamed fish. Food was pretty good, chicken surprisingly good also had an interesting peanut sauce to go with it. Thought the sauce on the fish was a bit much, but at least it was somewhat spicy and unique. Service kinda awkward but no big deal. read more

It was decent. I really like the chicken crispy rolls and the chicken pad thai.. I dislike the smell of it, but it tasted good. I had the green curry chicken and sticky as well. I've had better green curry but it wasn't bad. The sticky rice was a bit dry, but I got my food late so I can see why. I would order the spring rolls again, it seemed like average thai food. The best Thai will still be in Newmarket but this place is decent for a quick bite. Lol read more

Back in the days of Dora and Sunny, there was simply no better Thai food in all of K-W in my opinion. When they finally retired and the business was taken over, it went entirely bland. Everything was just so mediocre compared to before. There was no reason to select this place over any other Thai place in town. I'm happy to say that is no longer the case, and I'm ready to once again wholeheartedly recommend Northern Thai. I don't know when it happened, but almost all the good stuff came back. The menu got revved, sticky rice returned, the dishes use all the awesome veggies (like baby corn and mushrooms--most places just use toss away stuff like peppers and celery), the food became spicy and super tasty again. My fav is the ginger chicken (or beef). While it doesn't approach Sunny's ginger pork of years gone by, it's still yummy, and I can see where they are moving to better the menu all the time. While I will always lament the loss of a chef who would garnish your dinner with carrots that were cut to look like flowers, I can say that if you go, you're not likely to be disappointed. It's great fare. Prices are reasonable, too. read more

I found a bug in my food and was given a "discount" of $1.10, when the dish cost $6.99. I'd probably be less upset with the experience if the server was able to communicate with me, or if there really was service even! read more

If this is the best Thai in Kitchener then I guess you could come here if you really crave Thai. The prices are high and they don't give you much food. And their food is watery and cheap read more

Love the food here. The right level of spice, and a great variety. Able to cope with my vegan nephews too...

Really liked it. Pad Thai a bit sweet for my taste. Veggies were a bit crisp and totally fresh.

Very good Thai restaurant. Very nice decor/ambience too, although it's hard to tell from the outside. We've been here several times and everything we ordered was very good. read more

We arrived at 3 and were initially the only people there. We were first attended to quickly ordering some drinks and apps. That was the last time we were attended to promptly. As we sat waiting for our waitress to return for the next 25 minutes (!) two more tables came and left without being acknowledged. They didnt even know these people had been there. Someone had placed a call in order and arrived to pick it up. After waiting 15 minutes he left with only one item of several he ordered. We heard them tell him they were having a problem with the oil (they didnt tell him that until he was leaving.) As we waited we got nothing - no water, not our drinks or soup that didn't involve oil...they didnt even take our entree order. Finally half hour after placing the order we got our drinks, 10 minutes later soup and apps. We asked for an extra bowl, hot sauce and water. None of those came. We had to get up and remind them. Again, no explation or apologies. An hour after arriving our entree came and they told us we would need to wait a few more minutes for the rice. That's cool...who likes hot food anyway? The food was ok but I have had much better. Curry was runny and the noodles tasted like Mr. Noodle. No one checked in...another couple came in (by this point the only other people in the place) and weren't acknowledged for 15 minutes. When we finished we went to the counter to pay and they asked how things were. We explained our experience with the service and she kind of listened, explained there was a problem with the oil and gave a 10% discount. No apology- just "thanks for letting me know." We will not be back - plenty of other Thai restaurants in KW. read more

Real Thai food! Finally! I cannot tell you how many local places I have tried and left feeling vaugly frustrated at something that was not quite Thai food. The decor is really lovely, the service was extremely accomidating and polite without being pretentious, and the drunken noodles were just that perfect level of spicy-but-not-so-hot-you-lose-the-flavour. Great coconut shrimp, nice spring rolls, fantastic soups, yummy sticky rice. A great little place. I went for lunch with some kids and it was perfect, but you could go at night and have quite a cozy romantic little spot. I'm going to be thinking about those drunken noodles a lot now. This is a good thing, because they have a nice lunch special and I can probably swing a visit there before I get to obsessive about them. Mmmm, good Thai food. I can stop bouncy from place to place because I've finally found the spot to go when I need a fix! read more
