I have no doubt I would have been charged even more if I didn't know how simple this repair should have been. Unprofessional, unauthorized charges, and extremely disrespectful behavior. Before bringing my car in, I clearly explained the issue: a specific electrical A/C problem (turning on/off). The system was already working and recently serviced. I made it clear I only needed a quick, straightforward fix with no unnecessary servicing, and that I would not bring it in if he planned to service the whole system.Chuy said he understood and that it would be a quick fix. The only charge I authorized was a $150 diagnostic fee. Despite this, after I dropped my car off, he performed and charged for an A/C service I did not authorize, along with additional unapproved work. On Tuesday, he called while I was rushing to class and told me I could not call him back shortly after, forcing me to have my dad call. After that, he avoided communicating with me and instead kept saying, "I talked to your dad," even though I repeatedly asked him to speak directly with me. By Wednesday, the issue still wasn't fixed, yet I was already told it would cost around $300. He later said the repair would take less than an hour, but my car wasn't ready until Friday. When I picked it up, the total was $530, meaning $380 in charges were added without my authorization. He provided an invoice, but it did not include a clear breakdown of labor vs. parts and was sent to my dad instead of me. When I asked for an explanation, he refused and said, "Let's call your dad, he can pay the rest." It was Sunday and I was going back home to the Bay. Suddenly my tire got flat (first time in the past 8 years) so I had to tow the car and spend a night in Redding since no shops were working at the time I got to the city. Monday morning I called a bunch of shops and was told over and over that they can only get me a tire the next morning. I called Mike as well and was told the same but somehow they actually found a tire and called me back. So in a couple of hours, I towed my car to Mike's and was greeted with a family-like atmosphere like they've been working on every car of my family starting from great parents. In just a half-hour the car was fixed, checked, and good to go. I had a bittersweet moment when leaving the shop and hitting the road on my way home. I will definitely drop by next time I pass by Redding just to say hi. Overall, If you ever have any issues with a car and happen to be near Redding, this is the place to go. Needless to say, I had our diesel BMW X5 checked before leaving the Bay Area. When we got to Redding, CA, the dreaded check engine light (CEL) came on. So, we were frantic not knowing what was wrong with our car. Also, we had no idea what shop to go to. Can we find somebody knowledgeable and with the right equipment to work on a diesel X5? Can we find somebody honest enough who'll tell us exactly what's wrong and not charge us an arm and a leg? The universe must have been on our side because we found Steven, the manager (or owner) of Angelo's Classic Import. With Steven, all our fears were gone. They have a very updated shop with all the equipment needed to diagnose our car's problems. We found a very honest person in Steven who charged us honestly. How I wish his shop is in the Bay Area because I would drive the whole length of the Bay Area just to have the privilege of me becoming his client for life! I can't give a high enough rating to R & R Auto Truck Repair and to Kevin in particular. While…read moredriving to Reno, Nevada, on hwy 89 my truck had a malfunction and stopped running. I contacted AAA and had the truck towed 80 miles to R & R. Kevin called 2 days later to tell me that it had a broken exhaust pipe at the manifold, and they could repair it for $450. We drove from Grants Pass back to Shasta Lake to pick it up and headed back towards home. About 5 miles from home the truck started making the exact same noise. When I got it it home I pulled the exhaust/catalytic converters and discovered the repair had failed. I contacted Kevin and he asked what I wanted to do. I told him I would order a new exhaust/catalytic converter and install it myself, because I didn't want to drive the 2 1/2 hours back to the shop. Kevin told me to order the parts and he would reimburse me the entire amount, which I did. I provided the amount to Kevin and received a check from him in a few days. Not only did Kevin stand behind his work, he went the extra mile by reimbursing me for the parts. I can't say enough about the level of customer service Kevin provided! I highly recommend them as a trustworthy shop.

I want to go anywhere except R&R. My partner decides to go back to R&R because the first oil change was included in the original price we paid. So he goes. Nope $79! Also Rick is great at sounding reasonable but in reality once challenged or questioned he sulks and grumbles. I know rebuild take time and I know how old my suzuki is. I find it interesting that there is no mention of the fact the gaskets blew because after a previous repair the idle was so high it blew them. FRO!
