So far so good. We were recommended NE Power Dry by a plumber after our basement had been slowly flooding and we hadn't realized it until we had mold up the wall. We worked at first with Theo, who was excellent at getting communications going with my insurance company for the job. They stripped the basement quickly and tore out everything and dried it. We had a recurrence of the plumbing issue that delayed rebuilding, but once I called back, we had them back at our place within 36 hours. It's been one day and the dry wall is already up. We've got a ways to go and hoping there's no payment issues, though we haven't had any so far, but for a really aggravating whole series of events, I have had no complaints with them. read more

My family and I returned from vacation and walked into a flood as our water heater had broken. At the recommendation of our plumber we opted to utilize Northeast Power dry. The team came in did an assessment, suspected asbestos under the wood floor, taped the area, shared that they would have the manager come back to test for asbestos, they set up a dehumidifier, and an air filter (they did not cut open the walls and place fans to dry the moisture from the water damage. My family and I resided in our home from Wednesday-Monday with the loud sounds of the dehumidifier blowing.) As I was eager to complete the next phase of the work, I reached out to the representative from the company who shared that he would return back to the home on Thursday to take a sample to the floors (to rule out asbestos yet; he did not), as the representative did not come on Thursday, he then shared that he would report on that Friday yet; he did not call or show up resulting in me missing an appointment to escort my family member for his cancer radiation appointment. I was livid at the lack of professionalism and disregard for the needs of my family when we hired this company to provide the services and supports that we needed to return back to some normalcy. I then reached out to the company to share my concerns whereas the representative shared that they would have the project manager call me. This guy had the NERVE to text me on that Friday to share that he was busy, sorry, and that he could report to my home by 8:30 AM on Saturday. I did not answer the text as I could not believe that someone could be so dismissive by sending A TEXT!!!! disgusting. Let's just say I did not answer the text, contacted the managers boss, requested that they come and get their equipment, and I was done. I then contacted a new team who came out, opened the walls (unfortunately as Northeast Power dry did not thoroughly do the job, the new team found water and mold in the spaces of our home ), placed a dehumidifier in our home, several fans, and an air filter. Unfortunately my house flooded, I hired the Northeast power dry. I scheduled them right away because of the tragic mess in my home. I took off of work as well just for them not to show. I can not believe that a company that considers themselves professional would act so immaturely. I scheldued them again because it was urgent, not only did the office staff come late but they were rude, disrespectful and disgusting. Awful! I would give it 0 stars if I could. To make a long story short they cut out my shower when the leak was in the pipe below the shower. if they would have just cut out the ceiling below the shower i would not have to redo my entire bathroom. they put a drying unit in my basement that had no leak and unplugged my freezer. Three weeks later I discovered it was unplugged and had to throw out about a thousand dollars of food. ugh! my house smells like a trash can. read more

While they do the work you hire them to do just fine, the company is awful to deal with. They plug a bunch of fans into the walls along with dehumidifier and air purifier that's about it. For us this overloaded the circuits and blew our breakers for that area within minutes. We called the company to let them know and they said someone would call us back...never happened. They showed the next day as schedule to check the progress and when told about the issue they just rearranged how they plugged things in which not surprising had the same result. Technician tried to reset the breaker on his own so we wouldn't notice. He wasn't successful though because it blew again. They left with 2 of 8 fans working. I again called the office to say no more and to ensure we weren't charged. The person who answers couldn't do anything but say someone would call us back. Called again and technician returned to rearrange the plugs again but my wife wouldn't let him as I was in my way back home. He then used derogatory language about her in Spanish...which she understands. I declined any further attempts at using extra fans and said he could take the fans I was done trying the same thing over and over. Next day they got the rest of the stuff. A MONTH LATER they finally called to collect payment but during that month had never returned a phone call nor any of my multiple emails. I was told I'd only be charged for what was used in our house. Having never seen a bill I demanded one before I paid anything. When I saw the bill they charged for all the equipment even though only 2 fans used, COVID respirators (never used, technicians didn't even use masks), charged to disconnect washer/dryers (never touched them), and to top it off when I called about it I was accused of trying to perpetuate insurance fraud! After going back and forth they removed one day of use of 6 of the fans even though they were never used, and the washer dryer disconnects. They ignored my mentions of their rude and derogatory technician. They charge you for every detail which is fine but don't do half of it. They ensure the charges are so ridiculously high you go through insurance because they can make more money and you never see a bill. They claimed I signed a work satisfaction form which was true because they did the job. They did this in their way out the door before I got a final bill. They'll use to claim you are trying to "not pay them their money" as the lady told me over the phone. They love to say how they're reachable 24/7 by phone but while true the person you get can't do much and no one will return your call until they want paid. I started calling day one, and a month later, a 3 day job is still a headache I'm dealing with. Find a different company!! read more

Available 7 days a week, and came down to Mercer County (Hamilton) on a weekend after my hot water heater failed and flooded my basement. Brendan was personable, professional, and knew exactly what needed to be done to help dry the basement. The technician team was out and set up the equipment quickly and gave great instructions on monitoring the machines (just to make sure they were still running/draining properly etc.). The equipment sufficiently dried out my basement within a few days. They also did testing for lead paint and asbestos....all able to direct bill with my insurance company. Which is an important step, make sure they work through direct bill with your insurance company so you are not out of pocket. I would use them again, but hopefully won't ever have to! This company is extremely dishonest, a scam and will take advantage of you. Our water heater broke over the weekend. We had a project manager who came by to estimate the place. He mentioned this will be covered by the insurance and based on that assumption, he wrote down a jacked up price for the insurance. For a 900sq feet with 30x31 linear footage for extraction of water, carpet removal and removing the moulding, they charged us $6,300. When he wrote that number, he said "this was a fat number for insurance but if you have to pay from your pocket, I'll come down on the numbers". We reached out to him everyday asking what the $$ would be and he said he will get back to us and never did. We saw our card charged with $6300 with out any itemized bill or discussion. The damage was not so significant and did not even cover the entire basement. Extremely disappointed we chose this company and I would suggest please reach out to others before you choose them for your basement. Actually made the problem worse. Lied about their relationship with our insurance company, stating that they are preferred provider and direct pay. The licensed hygienist that the insurance company sent told us that Power Dry made the problem worse! He said that Power Dry is incompetent or deliberately made the problem worse so that they could charge more money. He said that it wasn't the first time he had a problem with them. Our insurance company had to send someone else to do the job correctly and it actually cost more because of Power Dry. Super friendly, knowledgable, explained everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and did her call to the insurance company while she was with me so I could do my part at the same time as her and she helped answered any questions I wasn't sure of. Please do not ever let these people in your home. They came to us through a plumber we knew, after we had a sewer clog which resulted in our shower not draining. They claimed raw sewerage leaked in our house, which wasn't at all true. They wrote up an assessment about which walls, molding, carpet, etc. would have to be taken up. Their demo team came later that day and far exceeded what the assessment advised, resulting in thousands of dollars more in repairs. They left massive fans running for three days, which kept flipping the electricity off, needing the breaker reset. I called them about this, they never returned calls. My electric bill was more than $100 higher than normal. The assessment team gave very bad advice: They said, in their experience, insurance wouldn't pay for this, so don't bother to report it. That meant I had to pay for it upfront, which I did. Fortunately, I didn't listen to them, and called insurance, which did cover it. But they misled us, all to be able to walk away with a check. The woman who led the assessment team gave me her card with her direct number, "if you need anything." I called several times. She never called back. I called the main number; they promised to get someone to call back. No one ever did. They did far, far more damage to my house than the little bit of water (not sewerage) that trickled out of the shower drain. I'm only sorry I didn't throw them the hell out of my house before they started doing anything. Never again - never never never. Do not use this company. You'll be sorry if you do. No one from the company need bother to contact me. There is absolutely nothing you could do to make this right. Just go away. read more

Expansion tank on our water heater malfunctioned resulting in a flooded basement. NPD was recommended by our plumber and arrived at our home promptly. From the initial survey of our job and what needed to be done, to the actual setup of fans and removal of carpet and baseboards to packing up and taking away all the equipment the personnel were all extremely polite, neat, efficient and hard working. Amazing! The morning after Thanksgiving, a sewer pipe broke in our basement and it was horrible! Power Dry got Christina out to our house in under an hour for an assessment and she was fantastic! Here's a follow-up to the Metuchen basement disaster. The first thing Joshua Marks did in our home was to get hold of the insurance information. Only later did he look at the problem. Smart! He got nearly $3000 from my wife's credit card, and the insurance company will cover that. But restoring the torn-up bathroom will cost at the very least $5000 dollars (maybe up to $10,000), and insurance will only cover $2400 of that amount. So who wins? The shrewd salesman Josh Marks takes home the bacon. The householder, whose basement misfortune Power Dry was supposed to repair, has a disabled half-bath that will cost out of pocket at least as much as Josh collected. I cannot recommend that anyone submit to such damage and humiliation at such high cost. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot write a positive review due to a complete misquote on the job. Plumber recommended these guys after our sump pump failed and we had a couple of inches throughout the entire basement. Guy (project manager) came over and starting asking about insurance coverage. He looked it up online with me and I did see we had some coverage. Got the impression that the price quote changes depending on this. In a vulnerable state from the stress of water lingering in the basement, we decided to hire them as they said they work directly with our insurance company and said they could do it that night. I asked for a ballpark quote on the price and was told (to both me and my wife) that it should be around $5000 for the work. He said 4 guys for 4 hours starting at 10am. I said ok to go ahead. The work was done at 4am - took 6 hours and the bill came in at nearly $9000. This guy has been estimating jobs for years (per the managers assistant). The report sent to the insurance company showed 3 feet of water (instead of 3 inches). Ugh. Too many mistakes. The actual work that was done was very good and professional. My complaint centers around expectations of price based on a quote and lack of integrity. read more
