If I could give these incompetent people a negative star I would. Tried to get my mother in law…read morescheduled for double cataract surgery and their scheduling procedure is so complicated for even their own front office staff to do properly , First they told me, my mother-in-law needed to be put on 3 different schedules. I will admit I had to reschedule first eval appointment to due conflict in work schedules since I'm a business owner, so I call to reschedule and from there my nightmare began.... I scheduled an appointment, got a text to confirm. 3 hours later, a text pops up for a different date and time. I call to ask what was going on and to confirm which date was correct and I was met with rude, condescending responses, their answers kept changing with repeated questions, I was told she needed 3 appointments, then the next person I talked to said no, only 2 appointments needed then acted like the other lady never told me 3 appointments were needed. Did admit their fault but never gave me one apology so All I asked for from that moment on.... Was to stop talking(because the more they spoke the more confused the process became) and to just schedule the appointment. The office manager Kept saying I'm trying to, she is trying to but you..... putting the blame on me... again I said let's get past the point of conversation since you just keep going back into the conflict instead of a resolution just to try to prove your point even after you admitted fault. again please let's agree to disagree and just schedule my 79 year old, mentally handicapped mother in law her appointment....To which I was seriously told at this point, knowing the mistakes were on their scheduling practices that they will not see her at all at this point!!!!!! I was so distraught by this point I'm in tears, and feeling beyond overwhelmed, felt not heard or respected so I get yet another referral to a different office, different doctor to find out that these caddy, unprofessional, rude, incompetent front office staff literally informed the new referral office I was a problem to deal with and to not schedule me with them either....IM PRETTY SURE THAT IS ILLEGAL AND A HIPPA VIOLATION if I ever saw one. So screw you.... I wouldn't let a rat be seen here. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I'm now waiting to hear back to a complaint I filed with the Ohio Medical Board!!!! I have actually been in the medical administration field for over 10 years and I have never come across more unprofessional, caddy girls... not women because grown professionals don't act like this. craziest part I wasn't even the patient... i am a full time caregiver to my mother in law which is beyond challenging most days without adding such nonsense. I was only scheduling then someone else was to take her to the appointment... beyond wild!!!!! I thought to check a completely different area more than 45 minutes in the opposite direction of your office so you couldn't black ball me again from trying to get care for my mother in law. and was scheduled within 5 minutes, with lighthearted conversation and questions answered with manners and respect.... You need to hire an entire new front office staff, and your office manager is not any better! A lot of the reviews say the same things about how horrible front staff is... I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to go here!

When I went in for my checkup at the Green office in May, I had no idea that in October, I'd still…read morebe struggling to get a pair of glasses that I could comfortably wear. In May, I had two pair of glasses that fit me perfectly. By the time I finally gave up on Handel Vision, I not only had no usable new glasses, but the old ones were ruined as well, all the result of information withheld and a couple of plain old untruths. Dr. Slavik told me I needed to get new glasses, as my eyes had changed significantly. In spite of already being in the middle of some personal issues, I went ahead and ordered glasses. To make the transition less nerve-racking, I ordered the exact same make and model (plastic) frames as one of the pair I had been wearing. Things went south early when the completed eyewear arrived with wired nose pads installed. I had them send them back and when the replacement pair came in, they could not fit them to me properly. At this point, Dr. Slavic told me they could simply pull the lenses and put them in my old pair and my problem would be solved. Well, they did that and they ruined my old pair, twisting them out of shape. Even putting the old lenses back in did not salvage them. Well, at least I still had one old pair I could wear. However, the prescription in those was extremely old. Optician Sandy told me that they could create new lenses for them and they would not change the fit by doing so. Foolishly, I agreed to this solution. Needless to say, when that pair came back with new lenses installed, I didn't even need to put them on to see that they were completely ruined. I went back and forth with their optical department for months, including ordering (on my own) another pair of frames of the same make and model they initially ordered for me, and having them make completely new lenses for them. Again, they could not adjust them to fit comfortably. I spoke with the owner of the practice (Tom Handel), and he promised me they would resolve things. He had me go to the Fairlawn office where the head optician again was unable to resolve the issue. By now it was October. The whole process had engulfed my life... as, of course, seeing is pretty important. Out of desperation, I asked Dr. Handel if he could recommend an expert in the NE Ohio area that could help me to resolve my issue. The only response I got was to go back to his optician and try on more frames (and of course make yet another purchase on top of the ~$1000 I had already spent). I kick myself continually for going back to this place repeatedly and actually expecting to get my problem resolved. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." My mental health has suffered since May, but I am finally starting to regain it having "cut bait" with this outfit and going elsewhere. If you want to remain sane, do yourself a favor and find just about any practice other than this one.
