The staff at Distinctive are professional, efficient and provide helpful information as well as educational information with each visit. In the past, I have visited both Dr. Mentessi and Dr. Orehek and both take time to explain each part of the exam process and share results carefully, always with time for any questions that I might have. I love the selection of frames and the team at Distinctive Eyewear lets me know that I am important, as they walk me through the entire process from my exam to choosing frames, lenses and adjustments at time of pick-up. Subject: Distinctive eyewear Wallings Road NR, I never write bad reviews unless the establishment or product is defective or bad! Today I'm going to encourage people to take their business elsewhere. My interaction with Sue at Distinctive Eyewear on Wallings rd. NR was mind boggling! I am not a first time customer and I made an appointment for today to order new Rx glasses, I already have the Rx from my ophthalmologist, so no exam needed. I had errands to run yesterday around town so I popped in to just look at frames and get an idea of what I might like, I was flabbergasted when Sue told me "you can't even look at frames, come back when you have and appointment, I explained I do tomorrow but just want to look Nope, no looking for you, who does that to a paying customer! I wasn't asking for help just basically window shopping, well needless to say I left took my 800$ to a competitor that was willing to help me without an appointment, and we're very pleasant about it. Sue also gave some line about not enough staffing I wasn't asking for staff help, funny the place I went yesterday had the exact same amount of staff! Please take your business elsewhere where you ore respected and your business means something to them! read more

Ordered from them before and staff was rude then. I thought it was a one off and we would try them again. nice frames but terrible customer service. Rude staff and you still have to make an appointment just to look at frames due to Covid. Soonest appointment they had was 10 days out. read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this location. I checked the web sight and was unaware that it was by appointment only. I pulled up in front of the building (as I live in the development behind it) I saw they were by appointmet only and called. I explained I was in my car outside of the store and there were no clients that I could see. She abruptly said "it was appointmnt only." It is possible she was waiting on a client, however, she did not ask if I wanted to make an appoinment or offer a time that same morning that I would have gladly accepted. I was shocked at how rude and unaccomedating she was. I alread had a prescription and just wanted to look at frames. I will never give this place a second chance. I will drive out of my to Dr. Cerino's office in Brunswick where they give top notch customer service. read more

I have been a faithful client for more than ten years, for both eye examinations and the purchase of multiple pairs of glasses. Having had my eyes examined just this week and finding myself ineligible for new glasses through insurance until next year, I called to get my PD number from MY medical files. Two phone calls were never returned. On my third try I spoke to Sue, who refused to provide me this information without paying a $25 "professional services" fee. Even after my attempts to discuss the length of our relationship and my extreme dissatisfaction with this up charge, she continued to insist that it was their "policy" and there would be no exception. When I told her I was sorry our business relationship would end as a result, she rudely responded, "No you're not". She then accused me of "threatening" her when I mentioned my intention to post this review. Truly, one of the rudest experiences I have ever had with a business. If there were six stars, I'd give it! My GF picked up her glasses today. They took 5 days to arrive. The office staff called her and sounded so excited that the glasses were in and offered to be available whenever it was convenient for her to pick them up. They offered to stay open later or come in earlier to accommodate her schedule. That is customer service. At pick up they offered her free adjustments and a really nice cleaning kit. They told her she could also get her contact lenses here. GF says the prices were much better than the other place (don't get her started) in the mall. This has been my eye place for years and now it is hers. "frame" them and put it on the wall of fame! (pun intended) read more

Cheryl went above and beyond to help me find sport sunglasses and worked with my insurance to get them covered. Would never go back to chain eyewear stores. read more

Worst customer service ever - provided by Sue. When I was trying to make a point that I have multiple pairs of inexpensive "reader" glasses at home that are always on top of my head and hold their shape reasonably well, her retort was "well, you don't have anything on your head right now." Really Sue? Wow. Just Wow. read more

Great customer service when deciding on frames. Everyone in the office is very pleasant and friendly. Great choice and they are willing to work with insurance and what works best for us. My whole family has been there and are very happy with the service. Dr. Mentessi is wonderful also. Great availability of later day and weekend appointments so our family does not have to miss school and work. read more

Distinctive Eyewear just lost my business due to the rudeness that I received during a phone call. I moved to the area a year ago and chose this place to have an exam and order my contacts/glasses. My old optometrist office was always quick to help me with my insurance questions and I never was told to call my insurance. Today, I called Distinctive Eyewear asking a question about if I was eligible to order eyeglass lenses this year. The lady replied with, "not trying to be rude but we don't have time for that. Call your insurance. Thanks bye." I have never hung up the phone so disappointed in a business than I did today. It only took me 5 minutes to research and call a new optometrist in Broadview Heights. I would not recommend a place that hires employees who are rude to customers in the way that this woman was to me. I am absolutely stunned by this and incredibly disappointed. read more
