My Husband and I had our ceremony and reception at Woodsedge and it was nothing short of marvelous…read more Our ceremony/reception was in October and we had the fall foliage as our beautiful back drop. Amy and Adam were great the entire night coordinating with the vendors, setting up heaters for our guest, and making sure everything went to plan. We unfortunately had an incident where one of our shuttles took the wrong route and came across a bridge that the bus could not cross. Thankfully Amy and Adam jumped into action and sent down ATVs to pick up our stranded guest. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone that wants to have a unique wedding with Wonderful llamas and alpacas.

Our wedding at WoodsEdge Farm on May 25th, 2019 was an absolutely amazing experience largely…read morebecause of working with Amy as well as how original the venue was. Amy was very responsive, patient, and professional with all of our questions throughout the planning process. When we met her and Brent for the first time in person, we couldn't help but notice how warm and genuine they both were. One of the curveballs we threw them was hanging lanterns randomly throughout the barn. We dropped off the lanterns on the Friday before the wedding and arrived on Saturday afternoon with the entire place transformed. Amy and Brent did an excellent job at executing what was just a vision in our heads. The venue itself is beautiful with such character that emanates from all of the alpacas and llamas and, not to mention, the farm animal wallpaper in the bridal suite. Guests could not stop gushing about the animals and commented about how it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. Two side notes: 1. WoodsEdge is a blank slate venue where you have to take care of catering, rentals, and decor on your own which could be overwhelming for some. 2. We ended up doing a lot of DIYs, some of which required some set up. I recommend printing out or sending some pictures of how you want them set up. This is something that slipped my mind, and some of the decor ended up not looking like how we pictured them. Specifically, the place cards we made were shaped like alpacas and we worked embarassingly hard in designing them so that they could stand up on all fours, but they were never set upright and just laid flat on the table. We highly recommend working with Amy and Brent from WoodsEdge. It ended up being the dream wedding that we never knew we wanted.

All the food and products are from the Amish people. Everyone is so friendly and the service is fast and efficient. My mom ordered a strawberry milkshake. She said it was one of the best milkshakes she ever had. They put a bunch of fresh strawberries inside and she said it wasn't too sweet but just perfect. My husband ordered a cookies and cream milkshake. He also said it was made really well and was not too sweet. Just a clean creamy cookie flavor. Of course we had to try the doughnuts. I ordered an apple and a chocolate with sprinkles. The apple was really good! It was freshly baked, and the filling was delicious and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The chocolate was also very good! They are big donuts too! 2 for $5. Now to the delicious soft pretzels! They are freshly baked, soft, buttery, and delicious!!! You can also get them in garlic, cinnamon, and sour cream and onion. They have pretzel dogs too. Fresh fudge anyone? They have a large variety of fudge treats. They have fresh meats, jewelry, furniture, and other items for sale as well. I wished we had more time to explore and try more things. They are only open on Thursdays and Saturdays until 3:00 PM.

They have something for pretty much everyone - baked goods (donuts, cakes, pies, bread), cheese, pickles, produce, fresh meat, home furnishings. It's surprising how much they can squeeze into the space they have and not feel like it's crowded. There's also tables, cafeteria style, if you choose to eat there. If you visit their website, they offer coupons (e.g., $1 off brownies, free pretzel w/ purchase of a milkshake, etc.) you can print out. Normally, it is only open Thursday through Saturday. During certain holidays they do open other days of the week. For Christmas week, they're open Monday through Wednesday since they're closed on December 25th and 26th. For New Year's week, they're open Wednesday since they're closed on Thursday (New Year's Day).

She been…read moreloving the decorations and Christmas lights she saw in our neighborhood or when driving around, so I thought this would a great family outing to close our the holiday season. If heard of Shady Brooks light show and has never been myself - neither had my boyfriend - so it was the first time for all of us. We paid in advance online and there was luckily a discount so we only paid $25 per car instead of the original listed price of $45 per vehicle. It's was about a 40 minute drive for us coming from the city and we luckily didn't have any traffic on our way there or back. When turning into their site, they had signs to direct you to the lanes/area to drive through the light show. Once we got to that area, we drove up to the booth so they can scan our ticket, handed us a newspaper/booklet to go with it, and we were on our way! The light displays, concepts and sections (e.g. "12 Days of Christmas" with 12 displays of drummers drumming) were very well done. Our little one loveeeeedd it - except for the Grinch of course because, he's the Grinch lol. It wasn't a short drive through but not too long either. Once we finished the light show, we did park and got out to take a quick look at what else was going on and get a lay of the land. Would definitely recommend checking this out for the holidays and we would come back to check out the playground for her, wagon rides, etc.

Five stars for their incredible holiday lights display! This is probably the most impressive…read moreholiday light display that I've ever seen. Prepare for around 30 minutes to drive through, but that will of course depend on how crowded it is. I don't love being outside in the cold, so absolutely loved that this was a drive through experience. Put some Christmas tunes on in the car and take in all of the magic! The enchanted forest and lit up trees was probably my favorite part. We only visited for the lights, but I've heard great things about all of the activities on the farm and would love to go back in the fall.

This is just a very neat place to stop, take some pictures, do some chicken-watching and buy some…read morefreshly laid eggs. For the fall, the market was so well decorated with colorful squash and pumpkins beautifully laid out. They also have a large fenced in are for chickens. We watched the head rooster chase around the others in the pen. Inside the small farm store, they had seasonal local vegetables and eggs. The eggs were dated to indicate that they were laid that day, and they are $5.50 a dozen or $10.50 for two dozen. Can't get any fresher than that! Their website indicated that they sell chicken twice a year, although there was no indication inside the store regarding that. Most items are marked, but there were several variety of tomatoes that were not specifically priced. I wanted some tomatoes but I didn't get any because I didn't know the price. It is a self service honor system, with a cash box. Make a stop here if you are in the area!

This year, I ordered my Thanksgiving Turkey from them. The turkey was not cheap, and sure I could have bought a 99c/pound turkey at Costco, but what's in that turkey? I really wanted to serve something I knew would not be full of hormones. Let me tell you, 20 people at my table agreed without a doubt that it was the best tasting turkey they have ever had. Even the shape of the turkey was different. It walked around happily all summer long. There was no oversized breast weighting it down. Lots of tasty dark meat. The turkey was butchered and cleaned very nicely I would say. The ease of ordering and pick up was unparalleled. I chatted with the owner, who is very sweat and cares so much about what she puts out on the farm. Thank you Milk House Farm! Your first year raising turkeys was a huge success!!
