Recently, we contacted them because our 11 year old son had been having behavior issues in school and we were interested in having him more formally evaluated to see what we might be able to do to better support him at school and at home. We were referred to Dr. Kerry Hasbrook, a licensed, clinical psychologist, who walked us through what the evaluation process would look like. She was so helpful, personable, approachable and very thorough. My son's teacher, my husband and I each filled out separate questionnaires regarding my son's history and current issues. She then spend at least 90 minutes with my husband and I and then about 3 hours with my son on a different day. Her final report/evaluation was very detail-oriented and full of solid recommendations for school and home. Even the school commented on how thorough the report was. Before we met with Dr. Hasbrook, we were truly struggling and not knowing exactly how to best support our son. Now, we feel hopeful and are confident that things are moving in the right direction. I would highly recommend Dr. Hasbrook's services- she established a great rapport with my husband, me and our son, and we feel her evaluation has helped our family get back on track.

They are able to do away with ALL the things that give parents (especially new parents) a headache when dealing with pediatrician offices. On top of that, the medical care is high quality and you feel that the doctors know your children as individuals. . The things I appreciate most so far: -NO wait. You are walked back to your appointment room immediately upon arrival. -NO calling and being on hold. You can message the front desk or your doctor at any time. -The first few newborn visits are at home so no schlepping around your infant in a car seat while you are trying to recover. -parking is so convenient. Plenty of street parking right in front of the door. -extremely responsive and communicative -you don't feel rushed. The staff and doctor know your kids as an individual. - you don't have to go in for every little thing since you can communicate and get questions answered over the phone. My child saw a 3rd year resident at this facility and I was not happy from the moment we met. Aside…read morefrom the cold vibe I received at our first appointment, there were a few instances I couldn't overlook. 1. I was asked to have a procedure done on my child within a certain timeframe during one appointment then the resident gave me the wrong timeframe at the next appointment. Then it turns out the $500 procedure wasn't necessary. Unfortunately, I found that out after the procedure was completed. 2. I was asked to provide my medical information the day before my child's appointment even though the resident and I discussed the issues in great detail during previous appointments. 3. I was billed for an outpatient service that no one could explain. After being bounced around for 3 or so months, the charge was credited "as a courtesy" and I was told if I discuss anything outside of a wellness visit in the future I would be charged the fee again. Examples of "conversations outside of wellness visit" were not given. The level of care should be top-notch when you're being billed $400 for a 15-30 minute appointment. Right? Wrong...when I voiced my concerns/ issues as well as requested a more senior doctor, I was asked to see the resident once more before scheduling an appointment with another doctor. Flat out ridiculous! Why would I pay for AND sit through another bad appointment then provide the same feedback that was given to a manager? No thank you! Save yourself the headache and do not go to the pediatric division at this facility. If you do, see a senior doctor and pay attention to your bills.

This is a top notch practice with highly skilled and compassionate physical therapists. I went there for both prenatal and postpartum physical therapy (pelvic floor and other PT work). Before working with Meredy and Natalia, I had never had pelvic floor PT before. I knew I probably needed it but was nervous about getting that kind of therapy. Long story short: I should have gone to these therapists YEARS ago for pelvic floor PT before I ever got pregnant... they would have helped so much with general issues I was having! Prenatal PT: I contacted Chicago Physical Therapists in Spring 2022 late in my second trimester when I heard a "What to Expect" podcast about how beneficial pelvic floor PT could be for childbirth. After booking an initial consultation with Meredy, she encouraged me to double check with my OBGYN that it was okay to proceed with pelvic floor PT (my OBGYN said yes). Because Meredy was completely booked for over a month due to her high demand, I started PT work with Natalia, following a started a schedule of seeing either Natalia or Meredy up to near my due date. I really appreciated how excellent, respectful, and compassionate both therapists were. Natalia and Meredy kept their each other updated about my progress and there were no discrepancies in their care. I learned so much about how to relax the pelvic area to prepare for pushing a baby out, breathing techniques for relaxing for any cervical checks the doctors would do while I was in labor. When it came time for the real deal childbirth with a last minute unexpected labor induction, I was able to handle the internal exams and water breaking and delay pain medication (which was my desire) for most of the labor time. Postpartum PT: Meredy and Natalia were proactive in getting me scheduled as soon as possible for PT postpartum. Due to many non-physical factors I canceled some of the appointments and chose to not get examined until 3 months postpartum. In the interim, both therapists checked in with me to let me know that I could be added to the waitlist for openings if there were any appointment cancellations or to offer telehealth in case I was available or up for it. The postpartum therapy has been going great, with tips and exercises I can do at home to promote getting my pelvic floor, abdomen, and other out-of-whack parts of me restored post birth. Billing practices: I saw a negative Yelp review about billing practices and I wanted to share that I haven't had any issues at all. I receive emails with the totals to be charged, I have time to ask questions about the bills, and I consented to have convenient autopay when I was onboarded as a patient. The practice has worked seamlessly with my insurance to make sure there's no issues. Thanks to Meredy and Natalia... I should have come to see you years ago but I'm glad to be your patient now!

I wanted to share some feedback about our visit this evening when my husband and I brought our 2-…read moreand 4-year-old in for their flu vaccines. I want to preface this by saying that I recognize we never know what someone may be dealing with or what kind of day they're having. I also understand that giving vaccines to young children can be challenging. That said, I do believe working in a pediatrician's office requires a particularly high level of patience, warmth, and bedside manner, especially when a child is scared. Our daughter went first and did great. When it was our 4-year-old son's turn, he became very emotional and scared. My husband and I were reassuring him, but Maya (the nurse assisting us) offered no reassurance or encouragement. After a few tough minutes, she mentioned that we could just pull down his pant leg or pull up his sleeve, which didn't feel right to us. We politely asked if she would give us a minute so we could help him calm down. She sighed, rolled her eyes, and walked out of the room. I then explained that we simply wanted to give him a moment to regulate and catch his breath. At that point, the interaction left us feeling as though our son's fear and emotional response were an inconvenience to her, rather than a completely developmentally appropriate reaction to being scared of a shot. When she returned, we explained to our son that if he couldn't choose where to get the shot, we would need to make the decision for him and hold his arm still so Maya could do her job and help keep him healthy and safe. Throughout this, she did not offer any reassurance and proceeded with the vaccine. Something as simple as, "You're doing a great job," or "I'm going to do this really quickly," could have made a meaningful difference to a frightened 4-year-old. She put a Band-Aid on and then left the room without saying anything. I want to be clear that I'm not sharing this to criticize Maya personally. We truly don't know what she may be going through. I also recognize that we had 5:30/5:45 p.m. appointment times, so I'm sure it had been a long day for the staff, and I appreciate that she took care of both of our children. We simply wanted a moment to help him regulate and feel safe. A little patience, acknowledgment, and warmth from the person administering the vaccine would have gone a long way. We have chosen CHA on Ashland for the past four years, despite having many other options in the area, and have otherwise had consistently very positive experiences with the practice and its staff. That's actually why this interaction was so disappointing to us! We recognize that this was one notably disappointing interaction rather than a pattern, and we absolutely plan to continue coming back. I hope this feedback can be received in the spirit in which it's intended and used as an opportunity to reinforce the compassionate, child-centered care that has otherwise made us so happy to be part of this practice.
