During the annual checkup covered by our PPO insurance, Dr. Hatter refused a blood test that has been done by the practice for years and she submitted 3 bills to the insurance company: one for Teen wellness exam, one of Doctor's visit and one for Medical/professional services all for 15 minutes my daughter spent with her. When I expressed my disagreement to the office that I am unwilling to pay for the extra charges, they sent me a letter to look for a different practice. If the annual visit is not for asking the doctor's professional opinion, then what is it for? It seems that Dr Hatter is more focused on billing patients, than of their wellbeing. If you are choosing North Suburban Pediatrics do yourself a favor and avoid Dr. Kelli Hatter.

My kids told her on our last trip there that she was their favorite doctor (and that's before she told them that they were going to get a lollipop). I'd highly recommend Dr. Nelson. She even comes in on her off days to catch up on all her emails. She's very responsive. We had an incident 2 years ago and the care she gave my child was amazing. You can definitely tell that she loves what she does and truly wants what's best for your child. She's not quick to jump on medications or anything, sometimes, it's just rest and plenty of liquids for a common cold. We have also seen Dr. Levin when Dr. Nelson wasn't available (sick call) and he's amazing as well. Melissa, the nurse is really nice (and my kids always ask her if they need to get a shot). I should say sorry for my son kicking you 3 years ago when we had to give him a shot - sorry! He's definitely got more comfortable and does not kick anymore - yay! Recently, we contacted them because our 11 year old son had been having behavior issues in school and we were interested in having him more formally evaluated to see what we might be able to do to better support him at school and at home. We were referred to Dr. Kerry Hasbrook, a licensed, clinical psychologist, who walked us through what the evaluation process would look like. She was so helpful, personable, approachable and very thorough. My son's teacher, my husband and I each filled out separate questionnaires regarding my son's history and current issues. She then spend at least 90 minutes with my husband and I and then about 3 hours with my son on a different day. Her final report/evaluation was very detail-oriented and full of solid recommendations for school and home. Even the school commented on how thorough the report was. Before we met with Dr. Hasbrook, we were truly struggling and not knowing exactly how to best support our son. Now, we feel hopeful and are confident that things are moving in the right direction. I would highly recommend Dr. Hasbrook's services- she established a great rapport with my husband, me and our son, and we feel her evaluation has helped our family get back on track.

They are able to do away with ALL the things that give parents (especially new parents) a headache when dealing with pediatrician offices. On top of that, the medical care is high quality and you feel that the doctors know your children as individuals. . The things I appreciate most so far: -NO wait. You are walked back to your appointment room immediately upon arrival. -NO calling and being on hold. You can message the front desk or your doctor at any time. -The first few newborn visits are at home so no schlepping around your infant in a car seat while you are trying to recover. -parking is so convenient. We were in need of occupational therapy services and the hospital system we go to was booked out for months. Once we saw that NSPT was accepted by our insurance, we joined the waiting list and we were quickly accepted in for OT. The staff are so friendly and patient with children. We have been seeing Miss Taylor for OT services and she has been incredible with my child. I love that they have a little playground and so many different activities for children. So when she switched to a Concierge Care system, charging $500 per child per year, I was devastated that we could not justify the cost for only a visit or two each year with our healthy children. I obviously needed to find a new pediatrician that my family could afford and when I requested my children's records I was told that I would be charged $70, $35 per kid, for their records. As a middle class family in this economy we were really left with no choice but to find a more affordable provider, and to be told that we were being charged $70 to leave a practice that we really did not want to be leaving is extremely disheartening. I'm extremely disappointed that Dr. Franzia took this path with her practice, and that she couldn't even give the courtesy of waiving the record transfer fee for families that could no longer afford her practice.
